They have a decent selection of restaurants in a good size food hall. The only issue I had was how packed it was! It's extremely busy, so trying to find a table to eat at was a challenge. There is a restroom in the back, but it's for paying customers only. They will check for a receipt, so don't throw it away! The rail system in Rome hits all the major attractions, and goes out to the coast! It's an easy and affordable way to see Rome!

Trains from here go to Ostia's beaches, but I went in the other direction to Trastevere quarter (rione) and the city centre. The station has escalators that can be in non-working condition. It seems to be a gathering place for the homeless and drunks as well. Little research shows that metro station was opened on February 10, 1955. The mosaics by Enrico Castellani from Italy and Beverly Pepper from the U.S., located in the atrium, have won the Artemetro Roma award. The Porta San Paolo station for the Ferrovia Roma-Lido line runs alongside the metro station. The Stazione di Roma Ostiense, from where main lines FR1, FR3, and FR5 run, is connected to the metro station through the underpass.

The uber pickup area is a little hard to find, through a nondescript hallway, but getting an Uber worked pretty easily for us. In the past I've had no issues getting cabs as well - at least not no more issue than anywhere else in Rome.

Termini is Rome's main train station, and apparently the fifth-busiest in all of Europe. It was pretty bustling both times we were there, on a Tuesday and Thursday in November. I imagine it gets crowded during peak tourist season. Our high-speed train ran on time and was definitely the best way to get to Florence and back. We spent minimal time in the station itself, but it seemed like a lively, functional place, with a lot of shops and restaurants. Termini may not be a seminal Roman landmark, but it's clearly an essential part of life in Rome.

Out of the three lines, only A, which appears red or orange on maps, and B (the blue line) are completed and are the ones that pass through the most landmarks, such as the Vatican Museum, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, etc. Line C is a new line gradually being opened in stages. My partner, our friends, family member, and I used it for 2 days during our stay. A single ride costs €1.50 and is valid for 100 minutes on a combination of metro, buses, and trams. But we bought a €12.50 ticket valid for unlimited metro, bus, and train travel within Rome for 48 hours from validation. It was generally clean and safe; keep one's belongings close and watch out for pickpockets (as one should in most major cities), and one should be fine.
