I was so skeptical about this tour. I did the classic half day wine tour. For 55€, I was nervous…read moreabout the price and if the quality of the tour would be worth it, but can I tell you! This tour was worth the money spent. First, you catch the train and meet with the tour guide. My tour guide was Max. He was super knowledgeable and had funny jokes throughout the tour. He's a local and has traveled to many countries outside of his town of Frascati. We take a little tour of the town and he gives some history and we went into some shops and the main church there. Next, we stopped into a bakery and sampled some cheap, house wine (as he calls it) that is saved for families to drink with some sweet cookies. We were instructed to dip the cookies in the wine. Delish! Prior to that we got a little same of roasted pork with the wine as a light snack. Then a taxi comes to pick us up and take the group to the vineyard. We tour the vineyard and take awesome pictures. There's an awesome view of Rome from the vineyard. We then went into the cellar where the wine is stored and got a very detailed tour of the underground and the winemaking process. Next, we enter the tasting room. We received 3 (1 white, q red , 1 dessert wine) quality Frascati wines paired with a white pizza, red sauce pizza and bread. Olive oil that they also make at the vineyard is on the table to sample. Throughout each wine tasting, Max teaches about the wine. Lastly! The taxi returned to take the group to have lunch at a local restaurant back in the town. We received an appetizer of arugula, sautéed zucchini, I think a sautéed mushroom and some meat. Then we got a small portion of a red sauce pasta and then a carbonara with bacon bits (they had pairings and lunch options for anyone who was vegetarian as well). I was just enough food to leave me satisfied. I really enjoyed this tour! The tour is from about 10:30am to 2pm (you can catch the 2:36pm train back to termini or stay and enjoy the town until about 9pm when the last train comes). The small group setting was great for a nice intimate tour, easy picture taking and getting all your questions in. There were 9 people in my group but the tour has a 15 person max. I booked this tour super last minute on my way from Spain and they were accommodating. My only con was email response was a bit slow. I just showed up in hopes I was confirmed. I'm so glad I went! I believe you can only pay in cash, so be mindful of that. Bottles of the red and white wines are 10€ and the dessert wine is 15€ (if I remember correctly). Wine purchases are in cash as well. But y'all, this tour made my trip! It was everything! Highly, highly recommend!

We did the Italian wines and cheese pairings class (a group class of about 10 people) led by Hande, the sommelier. She was incredible!! Her knowledge was so impressive, but she imparted it in such a fun and conversational way that it was extremely interesting and never pretentious. We learned so much and enjoyed every minute of it. It really made us more interested and confident in our wine selections for the remainder of our trip. You could have as many pours as you liked and the wines were very good quality and a broad spectrum. She gives you a map of the Italian wine and grape regions and a listing of all that you taste. Also, ADD THE CHEESE TASTING! It was the best cheese we had on the entire trip. I have never had fresher mozzarella and ricotta. I think we had about 7 different cheeses in all as well as delicious bread and meats. Again, we could eat as much as we wanted, and trust me, we wanted a lot! She wasn't looking at the clock at all, we sat and ate and drank like we were among old friends. It was such a special night. A must do while in Rome!

We reserved a pizza making and wine tasting tour without knowing what to expect. My were we blown away by the hospitality, ease of cooking, senses of humor and beauty of it all. It was a day we will never forget. Being the only one of the tour group that spoke Italian, I was able to chat with Umberto, the current owner of the vineyard. He told me about the 9 generations that built the place and the devastation brought on by WWII. He explained how he gets up before dawn every morning to tend to the animals and grapes. It was a surreal day that we spent laughing, eating our own Roman creations and drinking the best wine in the world.

Jo met us at the train station (we drove and parked there as we were meeting others that were arriving by train) and walked us around the town of Frascati and gave us lots of interesting stories about the town's history and culture. We stopped a few different times during the walking tour to take photos and for Jo to do some errands along the way. She pointed out places that she does her shopping (her fish monger, bread store, etc). We talked a lot about the war that destroyed a bunch of the buildings in town and some that still show damage. As we strolled through town, other locals waved and greeted us. Very friendly town! We stopped at a family restaurant to make our own pasta. This was the first time that I made pasta from scratch. It seemed to be easier than I would have expected. But, granted, I had Italian pasta experts right there to assist me! After we cut our pasta to dry, we ventured off to the vineyard. We walked the vineyard a little and learned a lot about Italian wine, kinds of grapes, the governmental regulations of vineyards and followed this up by sampling some delicious wine! The views from this vineyard are made for a postcard! He paired each wine with some appetizers. Their homemade wine jelly is fantastic! We finished our tour back at the restaurant to eat our pasta. The restaurant covered our pasta and gnocchi with two different sauces and there was more wine to pair it with! Frascati wine is divine! A must try! They do have some wines from Frascati available in the States. Do look for them. TIP: Any Italian bottle of wine with a little label on it that says DOCG, try it!

One would think this would be quite a challenge with these destinations being far apart, especially with the needs of an aging parent. Casa Mia Tours took this challenge head on. Gina, Eleanora and Carolyn gave so much of their time to consult with us about every detail: must see's, train itineraries and tickets, personal van transfer services, restaurants recommendations and reservations, personal tour guides, wine and food tours/tastings, ferry schedules, best spots for desserts and espresso, best walking and shopping neighborhoods, and so much more. Casa Mia Tours created a detailed itinerary for each day of our trip- from where we might want to eat to the schedule of our trains rides and van pick up to our tours for the day. Once we got to Italy, Casa Mia was available to lend a hand in any way to help make our experience as enjoyable as possible. They even helped with an unexpected trip to the ER with our mom! The personalized service from Casa Mia Tours is top notch, 5 stars, the best! Our family memories of this once-in-a-lifetime trip will be with us all forever. Thank you, Casa Mia Tours (Carolyn, Eleanora and Gina) for making this dream trip a reality for all of us, especially our mom. "

They are a one stop shop for everything including food itineraries, cooking classes, food tours and experiences. The thing I love most about this company is that they take time to listen to what you're looking for and cater to exactly what you want. I have taken 2 food tours with Gina and she is extremely knowledgeable and was able to take us to some of the best places for coffee, sweets, cheese, wine, snacks and pizza in Rome. She also booked us dinner reservations at places that are authentic and difficult to reserve. You will never find yourself at a tourist trap as long as you consult with Casa Mia. We also booked a private transfer from the Naples train station to our hotel in Sorrento with them and their driver was on time, easy to locate and extremely friendly. I took a private cooking class in Sorrento with Marcella in her home and it was the best lesson I have ever taken. I learned how to make delicious food and after the lesson, my family joined us to eat the meal we prepared in one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen in my life. We took a private tour of the Amalfi coast and our driver took us to so many beautiful cities. He made us lunch reservations at a restaurant with the most stunning views of Amalfi that served food created with ingredients grown in their private organic garden located below the restaurant. At each stop, he provided us with recommendations of where to visit in each town. Casa Mia also provided us with recommendations of places to buy food souvenirs, find artisanal gelato, tasty street food and pizzerias in each city we have visited. Do not plan a trip to Italy without consulting with these experts. They will help make sure you have the best time in the most beautiful country in the world. If you are not planning a trip to Italy in the near future, I also highly recommend their online cooking classes. I took many of them during the lockdown in 2020 and learned how to make delicious meals for my family.
