I tried probably about half the things in the buffet (and there is a ridiculous variety) and there was not a single thing I tried that was actually bad. I would skip the onion rings but I can't even call it bad since it's still better than burger king's. The variety is pretty crazy so it would be impossible to detail everything. There's a solid selection of both Chinese and American food, along with a Mongolian BBQ section where you can build your own Lo Mein plate. The desert section is kinda wild, lots of fruits, jello, cakes, pudding, and ice cream cups. The restaurant goes kinda crazy with the front lobby decoration. There's a Koi pond! It's a buffet so I'm not sure what to comment on the service, but I didn't have any complaints. Nothing on the menu was particularly outstanding to me, but that variety with consistently solid quality and rock-bottom prices (like $15 for an Adult, but my sense of pricing may be a bit off from being from SF Bay Area) is absolutely wild.

Fresh, Delicious, and Always Satisfying!…read more If you're looking for amazing Chinese food in Waukee, this place is a must-try. Every dish I ordered was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality--nothing felt greasy or overly heavy like some typical takeout spots. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and efficient. I also appreciated the variety on the menu, with a few unexpected items that added a fun twist to the usual options. Highly recommend the General Tso's Chicken, beef with broccoli, and their egg rolls--crispy, hot, and packed with flavor. This is definitely going to be my new go-to for Chinese food in the area.

I've been doing takeout because of Covid and everything has always been packed nicely, still piping hot and she always gives my babies extra jelly sticks because she knows they love them!! The Food: Mongolian Chicken or Beef: 4/5 some of my favorites!! Reason why it's not getting a five only because I have one place that I just love from and it has my heart this would be my Top 3 choice for Mongolian!! Veggie Lo Mein: 5/5 my new favorite here!! I had no idea how delicious it would be here! I gave up hope that I would find a place to make a delicious Lo Mein here. Most places make it so bland that it's not even worth the trouble. This place is my new go-to for the craving! Kid-approved as well! Mi Kho: 5/5 Vietnamese dry egg noodle dish with broth on the side. Did you know they had a Vietnamese menu? Well they do. Check it out because it's worth it! This dish is my husband's favorite from here!! Mi Vit: 3.5/5 Vietnamese Duck Noodle Soup. My Dad is just a picky guy. He said they don't give you enough lol but he said the broth is flavorful!! I have not tried it myself. Egg Drop Soup: 5/5 did you think some places couldn't mess this soup up? Some places can! This place does NOT! Shanghai is one of my Top 3 places to grab Egg Drop Soup! Especially the little crunchies they provide with it! Yummmyyy!! My other favorites from here? Hot-Braised Shrimp/Pork/Chicken, Cashew Chicken, and their PuPu Platter!! Who doesn't love a sampler platter of appetizers being brought out with a little grill/fire. Haven't seen any other restaurant do that in a long time! I love that they still keep the old Chinese Restaurant charm. I will be coming here for years to come!

Seating was plenty and clean. Staff were kind. Hot & sour soup: definitely temperature hot and had pretty good flavor. I enjoyed it. Drinks: fountain beverage machine - they have Dr Pepper, that's all that mayters General Tso Chicken: I wasn't asked a spice level. It came out quite mild in my opinion. Sauce has good flavor though & chicken was a good texture. Chinese Festival: I ate this one later on at home. There were only 3 pieces of small shrimp in the whole dish. I did enjoy the veggies and there was a decent amount of chicken and beef. Fried rice was visually plain & tasted about the same. Egg roll was more of a spring roll. Standard spring roll with decent flavor. Rangoon: almost chewy like wrapper. Very little filling, which was a little chalky as far as texture goes and had okay flavor.

We ordered two appetizers--egg rolls and pot stickers, which were good. The egg drop soup was decent as well, so we were excited to get our entrees--broccoli beef and vegetable lo mein. The dishes LOOKED amazing and fresh, but they smelled like a dirty ashtray. I dont know if the wok was dirty or if something had been burnt, but it tasted terrible. We left both meals on the table after one bite. I'd like to think this was a one-off, but given how bad the food was, we won't be giving Lucky Bamboo another chance.

The option to dine in has returned here at Asian Cuisine! It's actually been back a while now…read more.. I was just very happy to see it when it happened! The plexiglass wall that closed off the open kitchen during Covid has been removed. I've been here a couple of times since dine in reopened, but had still done take out anyway as my girlfriend lived not far away there in Grimes. She recently moved... We missed the food...and seeing Lily and Ken! So we decided to drive over and grab a table. When we walked in we were greeted right away. It had been a minute since we'd last been in. I was happy to see Lily working at the counter and Ken busy in the kitchen along with the rest of their staff! Seating is all low top tables and chairs. Mostly tables for four and two. Now instead of table service (like it was pre-Covid) it's more order and pay at the counter. Take a seat. The food is brought to you on disposable plates with plastic silverware. Drinks are cans or bottles. There are no napkins or condiments at the tables. Condiments like soy sauce and spicy mustard are served in packets. Sweet and sour still comes in a cup. Bus your own table into the trash receptacle when you are done. The food was as good as it ever was! We ordered an order of the crab rangoon. These seemed a little lighter on the filling than I remember them being in the past... They were served hot and fresh out of the fryer! I got the Yu Shang shrimp. Probably my favorite entree here and my go to. It was fantastic as always! I struggled eating it a little with my plastic fork... The tines kept bending on the firmer components of the dish. Heather ordered chicken fried rice and added shrimp (extra spicy). Another awesome dish! And I benefited from some leftovers she brought home... Lol I'll say that overall the food here is still top notch... Lily and Ken are two of my favorite owners in the metro! Couldn't ask for two better hosts... Take out business is still booming! While we dined in the stream of people picking up their orders, or coming in to place take out orders, was constant. But... The overall dine in experience has changed... We adapt to survive and we lost a lot of businesses during Covid... Some businesses that had been open for decades... Asian Cuisine adapted to a take out only model and made it through. Can I blame them for continuing to evolve while bringing the dine in option back? No I can't. In fact I want them to do WHATEVER it takes to keep their doors open...! I can even bring my own silverware... Lol I'm really not that picky and can grab something to eat anywhere. I see closure notices come through my feed almost weekly. Some are kind of a bummer, but they really don't impact me much even when it's a place I go to often. No real personal connection... It's different for me here. I'd probably cry like a little kid who just had one of their childhood beliefs shattered... I'm also not going to lie and say I don't miss things the way they were... I think as a rule a lot of us could say the same about many things today.

My first time here…read more I came in around 1145. There were 2 other people in here dining. Calming instrumental music playing. Shelves of trinkets, if you're into that sort of thing. Initially brought me the wrong plate, intended for another table but my food was out in a timely manner. They did not have fountain Dr Pepper, only bottle. I ordered the general tso lunch special & an appetizer. General tso: chicken had a nice crisp to it. Came out very hot to temp. Peas, peppers & carrots tasted fresh/crisp. Sauce was tangy with good spice, not overpowering. Hot & sour soup: adequate amount of goodies in it. Perfect mild hint of spice. Came out hot to temp. Quite tasty! Crab Rangoon: very empty l but what filling was in there was good, although quite sweet. Not very "crab" tasting Fried rice: a bit bland Chicken teriyaki: great presentation & portion. Meat was juicy, not at all dry. Flavor was lacking though.

Great friendly service, not your typical Asian buffet is how I would describe this experience…read more I expected lines of food options in a massive buffet layout. How the China Moon displayed their options was just having a few popular menu items out to choose from. The buffet comes with a choice of soup, appetizers, main dishes and desserts. Beverages were water, Pepsi products, teas, coffee or mango drink on the buffet (it was really good). Another table even asked if they could have white rice vs the fried rice, the server noted this will be right out. The food wasn't bland at all, had good flavor. I would go back as it was delicious, I just wished I could have tried their shrimp item, but it had mushrooms and I wasn't going to test my allergies. I also need to ask what is all on the dessert table as I wasn't able to eat the one cookie. It was a double wammy for me in the allergy department of coconut and almonds. Again over all very good and the place was clean.
