We called out an AC / "Vent Cleaning" service who's tech "cleaned" the vent but spent the majority of the time trying to sell more services. Turns out the light came back on about 6 months later (for a service that should be annual). This time, we called VentSmart. Dryer vents are ALL they do. One price for a vent on the side of the house, another if the dryer vents to the roof. Wayne was super friendly and pleasant. He dispatched Chris in short order. Chris was even friendlier and worked hard to get the job done right. That first "Vent Cleaning" service never checked the roof, just "cleaned" from our air-conditioned laundry room. Chris got up there and removed a HUGE chunk of lint (attached pic), then high-speed brushed from top AND bottom. There was no BS, no trying to sell other services, no surprises with the cost. Just thoroughly cleaned the house vent, the vent in the dryer, and all around the dryer seals. Then cleaned up everything behind him. Professional, super nice, and a very reasonable price. A trip to Home Depot and other appliance shops indicated I was looking at $500 to over $700 for a a new compatible dryer plus delivery and installation to replace the noise maker at home. Not knowing what the malady was with the my noise making Whirlpool dryer I decided to call a repair service to see if they could resurrect life back into a machine that had given up. Based on the five star reviews, I selected Tampa Bay Appliance Fix in Brandon. The first good news was that they would be able to send a technician out that afternoon. The second was that the service call fee would be subtracted from the repair work. Five minutes after technician Tim Hart arrival, the drum from the dryer was lying on the floor exposing the worn out parts causing the problem. He had new replacement parts in his van and 30 minutes later the dryer was working soundlessly doing its job. Thanks to the professional work of Tim, the lady of the house was happy and I saved over $500 not having to buy a new dryer. Because it was an older GE long vent dryer it has two blowers and the parts for the secondary blower are very difficult to source. He fixed the switch to get the dryer running again, but we decided against trying to fix the secondary blower fan. Instead, we purchased the newer version of the GE long vent dryer. We really appreciate his honesty regarding the repair and parts. He was prompt and efficient.

We re-set it and now we have power back outside. It was a 5 minute fix. So to make the best use of my money, I pointed out a few other things. A WiFi light switch that he couldn't fix, and some recessed lights that needed replacing. I figured that he did not have the parts on his truck so I told him I could call the office and make an appointment. He told me it would be cheaper if he just went and did it today, so he went back to the office and got the parts. He came back and installed two replacement recessed lights in my kitchen. In the end, the entire job took 58 minutes so I was charged one hour plus parts. It didn't even come to $230. The best part though is the customer service! He went out to his truck and got a broom and dustpan to clean up after himself. I told him I appreciated it, but I could sweep. It's those fine details that make this the only electrician that I will do business with. As long as they are in business, they will have me as a customer.

Originally called in August 2026 to asses the problem with a nine year old dryer. Rep came and…read morenever assessed the problem but went ahead and made a repair of some sort and charged me 259.00. At no time did he tell me about the problem or the potential charge. I needed a dryer, so I went ahead and paid because dryer was now running. The rep then told me if it breaks again within the next ninety days, he would need to come back and replace the belt. Two months later, October 2026, the dryer is not running. I called to make an appointment and was told the belt would cost 261.00 for a 150.00 dollar item. I cancelled the appointment. It is obvious that the rep knew what the problem was when he came the first time. I think he saw that I needed a dryer, because my clothes were laid out in the garage, and he took advantage. Almost 600.00 dollars to fix a nine year old dryer is insane. I can not stand to deal with people who take advantage of people who are in need. I was told by another person that it is the motor that is going bad in my dryer and that a belt would not fix the problem. How dare you do that to people, I believe what goes around will come around. I believe that some of your people will be treated the exact same way that you have treated me and others. I would never, never use these people again, nor recommend them again because they take advantage of people.
