As a mother of twins, I signed my children up for the Huntington Learning Center and they had…read morepromised to help my children improve on their standardized testing scores. My daughter who is in AP classes, went down 150 points from her initial test and my son scored the same grade as his initial test. They want your money up front and it is an exorbitant amount. I wanted a refund due to the lack of success and improvement. I was promised a partial refund in June. I have called at least once every two weeks. It is now October 28th. I have been bounced around from person to person as to where my money is. The Director in Plainview said I would receive an email of the response from Corporate office and she would send to me, which I still haven't received. I don't know if I should call Better Business Bureau, hire an attorney, instead I decided on Yelp. Not only do they NOT deliver the results they promise, they have poor customer service, as well as teaching abilities. I have now called Corporate Center and still have not heard back. As far as tutor centers go, I would not recommend to anyone.

BEWARE OF "GOOD" REVIEWS. The owner, Mrs. Kim, is a…read moremanipulative and a narcissistic "teacher". Majority of her "good" reviews are given by students who were told BY MRS KIM to leave a review in return for extra credit. She mocks students in front of others, she discloses students learning disabilities as a topic of discussion in her class, and she will expose a student's personal family issues with the class. Her criticisms and lessons are not helpful to the children as some students leave her program doing worse than when they first started. She will jeopardize student's safety to save a few bucks. On multiple occasions, she will leave students unattended. The front door to her facility is always unlocked regardless of the time of day/night, creating an opportunity for any stranger to enter. If you are looking for a place to help your child who is struggling academically, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Their ability to improve is along the lines of watching a few Youtube videos. Parents seek private tutoring when their child needs help. However, Mrs. Kim will not help a child in need. In fact, she will only help the children who are already excelling. Instead of helping a student in need, Mrs. Kim sabotages a student's desire to learn.

Really, a waste of time and money. The instructor was late, unprepared and dumber than most of the…read morestudents. We would constantly correct him. He did not want to be there. He advocated leaving out questions you had no idea on. He was not interesting nor inspiring. The class was crowded and much of the class time was spent taking the test - which I could have done at home. The guarantee is worthless. Just by doing the tests and understanding the questions you will raise your score by 200 points. You also have to hand in 4 practice tests - the last test was not even handed in by the instructor, so when I complained about the crappy class, they accused me of not doing my assignments. My suggestion is get a highly recommended Math & English tutor (about $100/hr @) and work with them, Get the latest SAT book and do a test a day. I learned more in two weeks with the tutors than I learned from all the Princeton Review classes. I received 3 SUNY and several out of state scholarship & honors program offers thanks to my tutors. Princeton Review is just a quick way for POB HS to make some money by renting out a classroom. Spend your money on a private tutor and make sure your kid studies- it will save you money in the long run.
