Majority of her "good" reviews are given by students who were told BY MRS KIM to leave a review in return for extra credit. She mocks students in front of others, she discloses students learning disabilities as a topic of discussion in her class, and she will expose a student's personal family issues with the class. Her criticisms and lessons are not helpful to the children as some students leave her program doing worse than when they first started. She will jeopardize student's safety to save a few bucks. On multiple occasions, she will leave students unattended. The front door to her facility is always unlocked regardless of the time of day/night, creating an opportunity for any stranger to enter. If you are looking for a place to help your child who is struggling academically, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Their ability to improve is along the lines of watching a few Youtube videos. Parents seek private tutoring when their child needs help. However, Mrs. Kim will not help a child in need. In fact, she will only help the children who are already excelling. Instead of helping a student in need, Mrs. Kim sabotages a student's desire to learn.

I thought the company…read morewas extremely responsive when my older son sought a different type of tutoring method, and both kids bonded very well with the tutors, who are professional and also young enough to relate. Moreover, my older son used Private Prep for the college planning process, and became so attached to his Private Prep guide that I'm guessing she'll be a guest at his wedding. She was caring and incredibly talented at tamping down his stress level. I totally understand that not every student will have the same results, but I believe that almost everyone who uses a PP tutor will benefit from doing so, particularly when compared to group lessons.

At $225/hour ($300+ per session), we expected a highly qualified tutor matched to that level. My child went from a 1450 SAT / 1400 PSAT to the 1300s. From the start, sessions felt misaligned - too much time spent on basic review, non-test conversation, and even scheduling during paid lesson time. The approach also introduced confusing strategies that ultimately hurt her confidence and performance rather than improving it. We raised concerns early, but nothing changed. Instead of building on a strong foundation, the tutoring left her more uncertain and worse off than when she started - and now we have to spend more money just to get her back to where she was. For a premium service that claims expertise in high-level prep, thir vas extremely disappointing.
