Antique radiator restoration by Metal Man Restoration.
Debbie M.

Excellent job every step of the way from start to finish! I researched having my vintage steam radiator restored and decided to use Metal Man Restoration based on their great reputation. Anthony was a pleasure to work with, and a great communicator answering all of my questions. I knew I made a wise decision selecting this company. Manny did a wonderful and careful job moving the very large and heavy radiator paying special attention to protecting the floors. Their prices are competitive and very reasonable for the high-quality work they do. The radiator looks amazing and exceeded my expectations. I went from having a rusty old eyesore to a gorgeous antique. Highly recommend!

Before :(

We moved into a new, very old house with radiators that were in bad shape, to say the least! I found Anthony from Metal Man and wow, amazing transformation as you can see in the before pic... Truly we were astonished when they were returned to us. Pick up and delivery by Manny was seamless, with great care taken to not bump walls or furniture. My understanding is that Anthony stripped the radiators by putting them into a large dipping tanks, then sandblasted them to a like-new finish, then pressure test and prime and paint with a marine primer and paint color of our choice. We wanted a cast iron look. We didn't want to hide our ratty radiators behind ugly boxes and now there are works of art in every room of our house! Highly recommend.

Brought in an old radiator that I wanted to do an oil rubbed bronze finish. This is somewhat of an unusual finish for a radiator but I wanted it to match my existing door and window hardware. I was informed that oil rubbed bronze is an oxidation process and that the paint may not match exactly, but they would try their best, and that they did. I am so pleased with the finished product and would highly recommend Metal Man Restoration to breathe new life into your old and ugly radiators or light fixtures.

Wood Vitalize

The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

Adam met with me in person at the apartment and set very clear expectations. The apartment is located in a historic building in Jackson Heights, Queens. It was built between 1900 - 1910, but I was happy to hear there wasn't too much damage to the floors. Adam really seemed to care about the integrity of my ancient flooring and he was able to bring out its natural beauty. I'll be real, I found other companies that gave me sliightly cheaper estimates (based on photos alone) but I just got a vibe off these guys that was very trustworthy and their work speaks for itself. The work itself took about 3 days. They communicated with me throughout the process and sent photos, which I appreciated. I included before and after photos because I personally eat those up. I really couldn't believe how beautiful these floors came out compared to how discolored and hideous they looked before. Ignore how insane my window trim/door trim/ doors look. I'm experimenting with paint removers.

The work took 7 work days for ~500 square feet, and the whole process took ~2.5 weeks from when I first messaged to when they finished. I messaged through Yelp on a Saturday, and Daniel called me back on the Monday. Jack came out to provide an estimate the next day, and he brought samples of polished concrete so I could pick a color. He gave me two quotes: one for removing the vinyl and just polishing and one for also pouring self-leveling concrete and polishing that. The estimates were competitive with quotes I had received from others, and he sent them through Quickbooks within hours of meeting. We decided that they would remove the existing floor first so we could get a sense of what just polishing that would look like. They also provided a COI promptly once we decided on this plan. Jack had a three-man crew come out the following Monday. They arrived everyday from 9 am to 9:15 am. Within an hour, they had ripped up the baseboards and vinyl floor. The concrete underneath had bubbles, large cracks, inconsistent coloring, and a large stain from previous water damage. The foreman, Alberto, suggested they just pour new concrete, and I agreed. We got Jack on the phone and went ahead with that plan. The crew did a great job putting up plastic to protect the walls and the limited furniture I had in the unit. They also put up plastic in the building hallways and carefully disposed of all debris. And 7 workdays later, the floor looks great! Would definitely call up Concrete Care again for any remodeling that fits their skills. For reference, the four photos are of (1) the living room before removing the vinyl, (2) the living room after removing the vinyl, (3) the completed living room, and (4) the concrete samples in the living room before the work.
