So far so good. Two meals consumed, General Tso chicken and beef bolognese. Both were very good and seem lower in sodium and fat than Factor meals which I'm currently subscribed to for past 4 months. Factor is good too, so I'll see if Metabolic continues to be good. May decide to switch for healthier choices. ....Update: Tonight had sliced turkey in mushroom gravy with cauliflower mash, and Parmesan coated chicken breast with steamed cauliflower and broccoli. Both dishes were quite good, simple but excellent quality. We were both satisfied with the serving sizes considering they were both under 400 calories. ... Next we both had grass fed beef meatballs and pasta with garlic and oil. Small serving of pasta but gluten free and tasty and the meatballs were delicious! read more

Absolute worst experience with is company. Attempted to skip and/or cancel delivery due to traveling. Only placed one order of (6) meals to try out quality, They still delivered and charged me when paused delivery for (8) meals that they chose on their own. 3 of 8 meals where damaged (container compromised). I attempted multiple times to discuss with customer service and all I ever got was the typical, "you still need to pay". Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, food obviously can be packaged more appropriately and food quality was fair at best! Will never use again...good luck! read more

I tried this service above all of the others I looked at because their signup page indicated that there was no "subscription". So, we tried about 6 meals (just under $70), just to see what it was like. The food is OK - not great - but was substantially different from the supplied pictures. Rather than the nicely browned chicken breast and pasta meal, for example, we recieved a bland chicken breast with no browning whatsoever. Quite bland. Not terrible, but certainly not what we expected. We took our time eating our 3 meals each, and had not decided to purchase again. I saw some emails about ordering our meals, but I ignored them because there was no subscription. To my surprise, I see a charge on my credit card for $133 and change, for meals that we did not order. A bit of a surprise, no doubt, for a service that advertised "no subscription". Now, I'm sure I didn't read something that I should have, but I really feel the no subscription claim was BS, and sending us 2X our original order without my consent is unethical - at least. I cancelled my "subscription" immediately. As a bonus, I tried to call them to let them know why I was canceling. Another surprise - there is no customer service phone number to call. You have to "schedule" a call with a representative, and for me, the first slot was 2-3 days out. I'm sorry, but this sure seems like a crappy way to do business. read more

I only agreed to try one week but they subscribed me ongoing and I tried to stop it as soon as I got the email and my online credit card showed they charged me double for the 2nd week of an order that I never agreed to and no menu choice. They didn't give a phone number for customer service, only a web form to fill out to request an appointment when they could call back at their convenience. I traded emails with an auto reply trouble ticket application. I got the notices on the day my bank was closed for a holiday so I couldn't yet cancel the unauthorized charge and block further charges yet. Horrible customer service from these scammers!! read more

I've been sent items I never ordered including an entire box of food I'm highly allergic to. Customer service has failed to get back to me. A shame, they could have had a chance at success because the food is pretty good. But being charged hundreds of dollars for things I can't eat is not funny and failure to follow up is unethical. read more

BEWARE!! After you order one time, you are automatically signed up to receive weekly meals whether you order them or not. And they will send more meals than you ordered the first time and charge your credit card. They charged my card MORE THAN DOUBLE on the 2nd order (that I didn't ask for). Food was only fair. I would not have ordered again. read more

Food good, customer service is a zero. after my first order, I reached out to ask if I could get less than six meals because six meals were too many for me, they responded noI said I would cancel my subscription. They give you a phone number to call but no one answers the said they will get back to you email you back and you tell them the problem and they still don't cancel subscription so back-and-forth I said I will not accept the food that you and they left it anyway so I paid for it because I can't let food go to waste but they lost a good customer, they don't care they sent me eight meals instead of six so I was charged extra two meals and I will never do business with them and I hope that no one else does the food might be good but the Customer Service certainly cancels any of that out. read more

They do not give you much at all. I have to eat 2 of their meals or I will still be hungry. I have tried to cancel the subscription for over a month and they will not cancel. They keep billing me and sending the meals. I have called several times as well as emailed and they will not stop. I am going to have to cancel my credit card and get a new one. This is a scam! read more

Delivery is a mess. Customer service is a joke. Value of meal...horrible. small portions.

Some of the food comes in very small portions. The plastic on top of the food is almost impossible to remove. The food is very bland.

I took them up on the trial offer. I received the meals but realized that I didn't think they were very tasty. So I called on April 29, 2026 to cancel the subscription. I emailed them first and the I spoke to Kristy D. on the phone and said I wanted to cancel the subscription. She said why do you want to cancel and I said because I didn't like their food so she said no problem. Then I kept getting emails regarding the menu options for the next week but since I thought I canceled, I didn't respond. So on May 27, I get this huge box from them with a bunch of meals that I didn't order. So I emailed them and I hit a canned response saying it was too late to cancel this order. So I said I canceled in April and just kept getting a canned response. So I called and I got 'Sorry there is no one to take your call". So I emailed them and asked if I was charged for this box and got crickets. So I looked at my credit card and they indeed charged me $125. So when I looked at the emails from when I canceled, Kristy only canceled the shipment for May but not the subscription. And she's like a manager. They have the worse food and customer service. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. Cook Unity it Factor 75 are far better and they have great food! read more

an awful company with bad customer service. they were 48 hours late on delivering the weekly meals. the food was room temperature and inedible. I logged a complaint and they did nothing to remedy the situation. canned responses. run don't walk away from this poorly managed and un empathetic customer service...Oh and the food rarely looks like the marketing photos. read more

The food is just o.k. The customer service is horrible. You cannot reach anyone by phone. You have to schedule a call with them on their time. I skipped a week of food and was charged for 8 meals. They told me that they can see what they can do. Really? I didn't order it. Now fighting for a refund that they insist on not giving to me. Seriously I can keep going but this company has me so pissed I cant type anymore. BEWARE If you skip they say you didn't and charge away and send you shit you didn't order!!! I hope you change the way you treat customers because this is a HUGE turnoff. read more

I got this service for a few weeks but the meals taste terrible. Also terrible customer service

Customer service is terrible. My first box was left in the middle of my drive way damaged and open, the food packaging was open. So I hit up customer service through email and was told to contact the carrier and set up a profile (I already had one). But no, the carrier is YOUR vendor. I pay you for a service, that service should be fulfilled. And not one mention of how they will make it right for the ruined food. Now its too late to cancel the second week? They payment hadn't even gone through yet. AND NOW I can't even delete my account? I want all my info removed form your company, not just a cancelled subscription. All in all a terrible first experience with a company. read more

First off, the food is pretty good, nothing hugely special -factor was just as good. The portions are much smaller and it costs much more. Secondly, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We were going away for a week and I skipped the week's meals. They ended up being delivered anyway, and sat on my front porch... They said, after looking at my account that I had not skipped, which I definitely had done. They ended up sending meals (that I would not have picked) and they just sat in the box on my porch because we weren't there. They charged me 150 something dollars for the privilege of wasting meals. They would not refund my money. They are not good at getting back to you when you email, and you can't talk to somebody on the telephone. I asked them to have someone call me and no one did. Definitely won't be using their service moving forward. We absolutely do not think that it's worth the amount of money they charge you. Eat clean is the service we went to, much more reasonable in cost, and the food is a little tastier with better portions read more

Metabolic Meals - This is the example of their turkey and vegetable meal. That's all that came in the meal. - Food Delivery Services Near Me

I wish I could give ZERO stars! My daughter interviewed for a job, was offered the position, completed all the onboarding paperwork and was given a start time and date. The day before they emailed stating that due to "operational changes" they no longer had the position. She had already quit her previous job! This is terribly disrespectful and highly unprofessional! A trite email on a Sunday, the day before a young adult is supposed to start at 7 am the next day, is unacceptable and inconsiderate. I had planned on getting a subscription but if this is how they do business I have no interest in supporting such a poorly run organization. read more

Small portions, over cooked vegetables, limited choices, terrible customer service, and just not a good value for the money

Do not sign up for a subscription! I though I was just trying them out and they keep billing me after I asked them not to.. It's very hard to cancel. I've tried various food delivery options, from premade and frozen to cook-your-own. As a single eater in my household, this is the best option to balance my intake needs (GF), budget, and convenience. The only thing that I don't like, but I don't know how to fix or provide ideas for, is the unsustainable packaging. Yes, it says it's recyclable, but not in my area--according to my local ordnance. (Not MM's issue, but doesn't change my moral/ethical dilemma.) I've tried many meals here over the past 2yrs and luckily there have only been a small handful of maybe five that I've not been keen on--that said, still tasty and I ate them. Just not my favorite. Some of my favs include the blackened chicken with chickpea pasta, beef with butternut squash, bison burger with Swiss and zucchini spears. I've had nothing but fabulous service from MM as well. ***ZERO COMPLAINTS*** read more

Superficially, their meals appear more appetizing than their competitors. In reality, however, they are for the most part, bland and not very tasty. If you're looking for a food service company, please find a better option. This is a horrible company. With horrible customer service unseasoned, poorly packaged food. One meal the potatoes we not cooked. I wanted to use them as a one time trial basis. And they signed me up for a ongoing membership. They preselect meals without even determinant. What your likes are or dislikes. I have fifteen meals sitting in my refrigerator of things.I don't even eat. I tried contacting them when I saw my card was charged and I got no response. What's getting a hold of someone. They said they cannot refund my money. Ask book to a supervisor Osama lbraheem He also informed me that I could not get a Refund, They do not have an app and their website. It's trash. And even though I tried contacting d then before my meals were delivered, they still will not give me a refund. Even before this incident, I was not going to rejoin disservice. Metabolic Meals - This is one of the better looking ones still awful - Food Delivery Services Near Me

I have had bad experiences with other meal prep companies, so I wanted to give metabolic meals a try. The food looked great online & the price was about the same as most competitors. So, I ordered 1 week's worth of food; lunch & dinner. The order consisted of 10 meals. I ordered. I paid & I waited. Not only did it take almost 3 weeks for my food to arrive, one of the meals had been smashed & I wasn't able to eat it. I sent an email asking about a replacement or maybe a single meal refund & got nothing. No response...nothing. After eating 2 of the meals, (steak & potatoes-spaghetti w/ meatballs), I realized the food doesn't taste good. The portions were nothing like the images they use online & much less appealing in real time. So, I cut my losses. I decided I would eat the food I ordered & be done. Well, metabolic meals had more surprises. After receiving my food late & damaged, the very next day I get $166.16 taken out of my account thanks to metabolic meals. I immediately call "customer service" & they tell me that since I didn't choose any meals from the following weeks menu, that they automatically choose for me. So, now I have $166.16 invested in food I didn't order & I have no idea what food I'm going to receive. (This amount was almost $50 more than the 1st order). As of yesterday, I canceled my "subscription" I never signed up for & have to wait until Monday to see if I can get my money refunded for food I didn't order. Good job metabolic meals. Your lack of communication & lack of information on your website just costed you a customer. I advise anyone looking to try their food to look elsewhere. The portions are small. The food is low quality & the customer service is worse than their product. Also, PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT on the website. You ARE signing up for a subscription! It IS NOT a one time payment. They WILL take your money & send food you DID NOT order. read more

We tried it and the food was not good. Vegetables are inedible. Have been trying to cancel for a month and they keep. Sending food. They do not answer emails or phone calls. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE! Food and service SUCK. Crooked operation! read more

Do not use this company!!!! They SCAM you. It is not clear you are signed up for a subscription service and they will charge you for more meals than the plan you selected if you fail to skip. Their customer service is not helpful at all and don't address why they charged you for 8 meals instead of the 6 your my choice plan includes. Their website is contradictory in saying there is no commitment, but clearly that is a lie. I reached out before anything has even been shipped and they are unwilling to give me a refund even though some of the meals they selected for me I cannot eat due to food allergies. Maybe if you would work with your customers and admit a mistake on attempting to overcharge by adding more meals that a "no-commitment" plan entails you wouldn't receive so many negative reviews. I made a $66 order to try Metabolic meal company out. When I made the order, the delivery date was for Jan 19 (Monday), it didn't arrive until Wednesday late afternoon while I was at work. The next day, I have a $162 charge show up on my debit card from them. Unbeknownst to me, I unwittingly signed up for a wkly subscription and the deadline to order was 9am on Wednesday morning. This is before my first shipment arrived which means I have not even tasted the food yet and their email telling me I need to order before the deadline was in a spam folder so I didn't even realize any of this until I saw the unauthorized charge on my debit card. Of course, I immediately called (Thursday 130pm) and no one manning the phones. My only recourse was to email them. I have gotten NOWHERE with these people. They keep sending me canned text regarding membership and that their system will pick something similar for you if you don't order. I DONT THINK a $66 order is similar to a $162 order. I find it shady, sketchy and downright unethical how they have handled this situation. I'm disputing the charge with my bank. I've given them a suggestion to give new clients a week grace period so we can taste the food before ordering more and for the set up process to have a check box to utilize to hold off on second order until it's been tasted. I do not care how good the food might be with this shady crud going on read more

I was trying out different delivery services I just got my first meals and within a day of receiving I never got an opportunity to try and reorder if I like. Metabolic Meals - this is how they respond after 3 calls, 2 emails and stating to cancel. again they absoltely can cancel but choosing to lose a customer? - Food Delivery Services Near Me

Decent meals, and GF since we need that, but sneaky subscription tactics, beware! We tried Metabolic for a few weeks, ordering the minimum of six meals each time we ordered. The meals were okay, some kind of small portions so left me hungry. Appreciate the lower salt, but otherwise the spicing is very mild and not very interesting. Not gourmet, as advertised. I did enjoy the meatballs. My wife also appreciated the diabetic low carb meals. Mainly, got burned by the fact that we missed one week's order deadline. The site does say if you miss the deadline they will send you meals they choose. I got distracted by holiday prep and missed a deadline by one day. They made out an order for *eight meals*, including some that were extra protein so more costly. When I called was told that the order had "already been processed" so could not be cancelled. She did give us credit for the two extra meals. What they DON'T tell you until you cancel is that you can go on-demand, and that if you forget or don't choose to place an order they just skip that week and don't charge. VERY poor business model, folks! You could be transparent and give us a choice up front to choose a "must respond each week" or be penalized, or an order on-demand as you offered when I cancelled. Your way of doing it is sneaky. I urge caution if you use this service and pay attention to what they are demanding of you! read more

Signed up, selected and received my first batch of meals -- no issues so far. Next thing I heard from them is my pre-selected meals for the following delivery cycle. Never received any communication about when and how to select them. I reached out about it, saying I would have liked to be notified, and they just said, "It's a subscription, this is how it works". No accountability for a poor user experience. The food is decent but very over-priced, especially considering the meals are small along with a $20 delivery charge if you order less than 15 meals, bringing the per-meal cost to about $16-17, and about $25 per meal if you want more than 500 calories per meal. read more

What a scam. I was charged over $160 for a delivery I didn't order. I skipped the delivery for this week and was still charged for future meals. I don't understand why they don't make it an option to cancel your subscription on the website. Or at least requiring your approval for an automatic order. There's so many other reviews here complaining about the same thing happening to them. Customer service won't even respond to my refund email after stating they would cancel my subscription but they still haven't. The portions are incredibly small and the meals mediocre. Now I know why the youtube reviews were scalding. read more

I would give this a ZERO. Terrible Customer Service. If I could give it a zero I would. I have ordered home meals for some time - Factor, Clean Eatz, Tempo etc. and have been generally satisfied. I decided to try these as something different. Waste of money. 1.) They ship using fed ex and I am not sure if this happens with them or during shipping but the meals were MUSH by the time they arrived. Every meal is like a stew, mixed and mush. 2.) Reached out to customer service. Thought they could replace, refund or take them back. No options for that at all. You are just stuck with meals you can't eat. Customer service sends the same plated message - no returns, no refunds (basically we are sorry we sent you garbage but to bad) 3.) The reviews on their website are either paid reviews or sanitized - read the offsite reviews for the true info. Wish I had. 4.) If you are trying it CANCEL the subscribe immediately. There is an option, otherwise you will be charged for the next box before your first one even arrives, double disappointment. Run don't walk from this business. Save your hard earned money. read more

Zero stars. I signed up for a "No Subscription" account. I placed one order just to try it out. Then I sent them an email canceling the order. The order came anyway and my bank account was billed.
