First time here, had a street taco and chorizo and egg burrito, other family members had burritos too. Place was clean, service was good, food was good. Prices very reasonable. No salsa bar but plenty of fountain drinks.

So tasty & fresh tacos.

The staff has always been very kind. The place is clean. This fancy mango drink is delicious. I liked my tacos.

This place should have a 5 star rating!!! The bowls are fresh and meat is very tender.

Steak and barbacoa tacos

We were in the area and thought we'd give it a try. Chips and salsa are extra which is a downer for me. I love chips and salsa but understand this is "street food" and not a sit down. I got the steak and barbacoa tacos and my wife got chicken. She liked them and mine were good. The barbacoa probably was more flavorful. The hot/red salsa was no joke. Pretty spicy. The salsa that came with the chips is hard to describe. Not sure if it was a high vinegar or if they infused it with CO2. It hit my tongue hard as soon as it was in my mouth and didn't have a great flavor. I'd rate them 4 or 5 stars but the salsas just were a let down and didn't have a good taste. Not sure if we'd be back.

I used to live in LA & San Diego so I have been to alot of Mexican restaurants. This is a really nice one in my view. I like the look and ambience. I've been 3x and really enjoyed the cheese, bean and steak burritos. The former is only $6 while the latter is double that but both worth it and very large close to 2 meals worth of food. My corn tortilla steak soft taco was also excellent. Service is fast and professional. I subtract a star for very small seating area and awkward layout. I like to do takeout here. Recommended.

Delicious mesquite flavor steak, to me aka asada tacos! Very delicious. Also tried their barbacoa and has a lot of flavor! Coming from a mexican kitchen... I totally recommend it! As u can see... they no longer exist!

Always good, fresh ingredients! And they never skimp!! It's always filled to the brim!! Or in this case, I got a burrito for national burrito day. It was half price and it weighed a ton. Sooooo good!!! I most always do take-out, but they do have several tables inside and out to eat at.

If you are looking for authentic street tacos... look no further! This place is amazing and hits the spot when you get that craving. The steak street tacos are my favorite. They are amazing with lime, they load up on meat and toppings. Very cheap for what you get especially compared to other options. Fresh and very fast.

We ordered the 10 tacos- 5 chicken and 5 steak combo was delicious!!! We did takeout so wasn't sure how the actual restaurant is but was very pleased with the food

Fantastic, quick and soooo delicious. Went here with the family on a Friday evening. We had the mixed burrito, protein bowl and quesadilla. And oh man was it good. The meat, chicken and steak were grilled to perfection. the flavor and even though simple was simply delicious. Our 3 year old ate the entire serving and loved the jamaica. We will definitely be back here.

I had Mesquite for the 1st time today. There are 10 locations in ARIZONA. How have I not been here until now?! The Manager of 4 years at the Mayo location- Rosendo was so welcoming and informative about the company, owners and food. I had 2 steak tacos with fresh pico, cheese, cilantro, and sour cream on a corn tortilla add lime. 2 tacos for me was plenty because, I had a big breakfast earlier. I didn't get a plate but, next time I will. If you are a blood donor and have your paperwork as proof, you will get free tacos! I am recruiting o positive blood donors for a friend in need and thought that this was really admirable. Even though the postcards say 2/2-2/12 Rosendo says that this is an ongoing campaign for all 10 locations. This is my new spot for lunch off of Mayo right by Taglio salon. It is fresh, healthy and. so much more a better option than all of the fast food chains in the shopping complex. Taco Tuesday... can be anyday!

It's good but ordering a to-go order, they need to separate the sauce and topping, made the taco really soggy when food was delivered.

First glances inside as ypu walk in, are oh... the place looks so fancy from the exterior but the inside reminds me of a cafeteria... complete with open kitchen and more industrial tables & chairs. But don't let first glances taint you.... the chairs are really comfy and the place is extremely clean and spacious inside. The bar is huge, in length and depth... really this place could do well by adding so many more seats like most other restaurants... but that would take away from the comfort and space you feel. Service was excellent, reallt friendly, helpful with allergies and attentive to refils and empty plates. Food was great, prices are decent. Appetisers we ordered guacamole, one each so no fighting. The size equals the cost, the scoop is a generous ice-cream scoop size, equally echoed by the pics and servers explaintion. But this comes with 2 salasa and a huge bowl of chips. For the meals, 2 tacos, one pork, one fish... plenty of toppings. Very filling Also ordered was the carne asada, huge plate of meat, green chilli, pico salad, beans and rice. Topped with 3 small flour tortillas. Everything was the temperature it should be. They have a desert menu, but we opt for Mexican Wedding Cookies to go. Definitely be back

There's something so cozy and welcoming about this spot that makes it feel familiar every time we walk through the door. One of my favorite things to order here is the chilaquiles. I usually switch up the meat depending on what I'm craving, and this visit I went with chorizo. The tortilla chips have that perfect balance of crisp edges and just enough sauce to soften them without turning soggy. The chorizo adds a savory, slightly smoky richness, while the toppings bring everything together with fresh, bright flavors. It's the kind of breakfast where every bite has a little crunch, a little spice, and plenty of flavor. I also love ordering a fresh orange juice alongside my coffee--it's become part of my usual routine here. There's something about fresh OJ with a comforting plate of chilaquiles that just makes breakfast feel extra special. The service has consistently been wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable without feeling overly formal. After all these years, Presidio Cocina Mexicana remains one of those spots I genuinely enjoy returning to. Good food, great service, and that cozy neighborhood feel that keeps you coming back.

I think I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant!…read more The ambience here is charming. It's located in what looks like an old house, painted on the outside in a dark red paint. There are roses hanging from the ceiling, exposed brick, and colored lighting (would you notice more as the sun goes down). The wood ceilings really make this place special. There is a small bar in the corner. Don't forget to look up because there is a little door above with the guardian angel and children painted on it, and a couple of stained glass windows. From the minute we walked in, we were meeting with smiling faces. When you first walk in, you are inside the kitchen or at least right next to it. We started with a couple of drinks - a Corona and a Diablito, a sotol cocktail with lots of pureed mango. A basket of chips and a bowl of Green dip or brought to the table, and we were directed to the salsa bar back near the entrance. The salsa bar is fantastic, with several different kinds of salsa. We grabbed what tasted like a creamy tomatillo salsa, a pineapple salsa, a pico de gallo, and a creamy Serrano salsa. They were all so good that we couldn't say which was our favorite. I know that pineapple salsa just sent me over the moon! For an entree, hubby ordered a Sonoran burrito. He said the burrito was delicious, and kept pointing out how good the guacamole and side was. It wasn't especially big or small. I ordered the fajitas (steak and chicken combo) and the minute they came to the table sizzling, both my husband and I were surprised at how large this portion was. It was served with tortillas (you get your choice of corn or flour), black beans, and rice. The black beans were good - - I suppose they just tasted like black beans. I was surprised at how delicious the rice was because it's white and I expected it just to taste like white rice. But there was a creaminess to it and a flavor that I couldn't put my finger on but that I know was really yummy (butter, maybe? Cheese, maybe?? Idk). Good meat in my fajitas was super tender and the veggies were grilled just right. This was a really common really delicious meal. This place had been on my list for a long time and now that I finally been here, I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The food was fantastic, the prices super reasonable, and it's set in a cozy, romantic setting. This place is going to be on a regular rotation for us!

So you come in the side door to the dining room . Wait staff all greet you and guide you to the dining room, festooned with roses and talavera tiles. It's not kitschy, just gorgeous. The menu is ample and you can't go wrong with anything. The initial refrito dip, tho yummy, has pork. But they have the best, the absolute best black beans!! Try them just for a change. You'll be converted. The dining area is small but cozy and beautifully done. So enjoy!!

Totally let down by the food but their green and dark salsa is GOOD and their draft beer is ice cold. Got there, guy at the front didn't know the menu (I'm not from in town) and he pressured me to order more food than what I wanted even though I said I only wanted two tacos. Ended up getting peer pressured into their rice and beans ($8!!!), two tacos, and a draft beer (don't get me started on the beer ordeal). When I got my food, the rice and beans consisted of a a 1/4 c scoop of mushy white rice but the beans were DELICIOUS. Tacos arrived cold as ice. Let their team know it was cold and ended up taking 20+ minutes for my two tacos to come back even though it was a slow evening. Lot of attitude served when first getting the tacos, and while they gave chips about 15 minutes after waiting for the second cook, the tacos came back barely warm and SO salty. I'd love to come back for the green salsa, beans, and ice cold beer.

While I've had some phenomenal street tacos in LA and Mexico, I've been wanting to explore more of its diversity, particularly the seafood traditions! We came with a healthy appetite and ordered the Mega Molcajete, El Pulpazo, and Camarones Locos. The complimentary ceviche tostadas were a promising start! Fresh, vibrant, they immediately set my expectations high for quality and freshness of the seafood to follow. The Mega Molcajete was a showstopper. The dish arrived as an extravagant spread of grilled meats, shrimp, octopus, lobster tail, fried fish, and more. Visually spectacular, and with flavors that lived up to its presentation! El Pulpazo deserves its own praise. Octopus is notoriously unforgiving. There's a fine line between beautifully tender and unpleasantly chewy. I've had my share of disappointing renditions to know that an impressive char means very little if the texture isn't right. Fortunately, this was executed well! Fantastically seasoned, with a lovely charred exterior, and cooked to the right doneness! The Camarones Locos were another highlight! We loved the flavors of the sauce! Since we had children with us, our waitress graciously accommodated our request to serve the sauce separately to control the spice level! We also had the Mango Diablo, which provided some much-needed tropical refreshment from both the Arizona heat and the fiery kick of the dishes themselves! A few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The parking can be tricky, as the lot is rather small (we were fortunate to snag the single remaining spot in the lot). This was also not an inexpensive outing. Our bill (for the aforementioned orders above) came in just under $300 (tax and tip included). That said, I felt the experience justified the splurge!
