Thank you Mesa Veterinary for removing my cancer and taking great care of me! 3Brooklyn and Family

They're always good at getting us when they can. Answering my questions over the phone. Helping me decide if we even need to take our dogs in. They were so good to my dog and patient with us. They removed a volley ball size cancerous tumor from her uterus. When we picked her up she was so happy! Thank you all for taking such great care of her! Our old lady means the world to us and that was the hardest choice to make but we are so glad we did!

Happy Mesa Vet Patient. Kimchi is a Pueblo mutt adopted from our shelter and care for by Mesa Vets.

When we first moved to Pueblo almost two years ago, this place turned us away with an actively dying dog because we didn't have an appointment. My husband and I had just moved here from Phoenix and had been here for less then 24 hours before our elderly great dane became very ill. That evening, I frantically looked for an emergency vet, but could find none. The first thing the next morning (after a very long, difficult night), we drove to this place as it opened and explained to the girl at the counter that our dog was in the process of dying. She said she was "sorry" but couldn't fit us in. I explained that I was not exaggerating, we were new in town and needed help desperately. I was turned away because "there was nothing she could do" and we didn't have an appointment. For a medical facility, this kind of behavior is beyond reprehensible. Even now, two years later I'm sickened by the thought of how we were treated there. We did find a vet that helped us help our dog and he was dead by noon that day. Please avoid this place, as they care nothing about the animals. Oh, and if you do use them and you have an emergency, make sure you have an appointment, first. p.s. since then, we found Mesa Veterinary Clinic and they are wonderful. They offer emergency care on off hours and if we had only known about them when we first got here, there is no way we would have been turned away.

If only we could give zero stars. You as the customer, are…read morenothing more than a revenue source to this company. They do not care about the animals. And they have 0 tact and respect when speaking to the customer. I've never had a bill less than five hundred dollars for just a yearly check up. But we pay it, because we care about our animals. Last time I went. They charged me $1,500. We were only seen for about 45 minutes, my dog had an ear infection. They told me the next time I bring my dog in that I needed to sedate him. Because he's hyper, not aggressive. But because he's hyper. I agreed to do so, but I have never had to give my dog such large set of pills. This required some extra time before bringing my dog into the vet. So on the next visit, i did as they ask, but because I was 12 minutes late. They canceled my appointment and told me to leave, reschedule and come back anything time. Meanwhile, my dog was already going through sedation, getting drowsy and had blood shot red eyes. If you don't see this as a problem, I guess you can go to this place. But for me, this is insane that you would allow a dog to be sedated and then not see him. Because of twelve minutes difference. The only reason I was bringing him in was to verify and see if he had an ear infection. He is a German Shepherd and this is a common issue for this breed. I was looking for some alternative options to help get rid of his ear infection. I was even willing to pay the $1,500 yet again. For their 45 minutes of advice. But clearly they don't care about the animal that is not their priority. They want to turn through clients quickly. And if you are an inconvenience to that, then there's the door. Im sure they would love to charge me for more sedation pills to, and why not just drug your dog twice in 1 day for being hyper.. a dog... anyways.... After I tried to express to them my concern with this poor business experience in the lobby, while seating down, and calmly petting my dog, the older lady at the front desk with white hair decided to stand up and talk over me. Telling me that I needed to be on time. I'm not saying she's wrong. But you don't need to tell a grown man to not be late, When he knows he's late. What you need to do is help figure out how to make this situation better. Knowing that the dog is now sedated and in need of medical attention, just do your job. I delt with late customers my whole life, things come up, problems happen, we cant control every situation. But we can help make it a better one. Anyone from Pueblo knows this bad business practice in are area, putting time and money over clientele situation. You need to learn to respect the client and help them. Despite inconveniences, dont be disrespectful and tell them how to better time manage. You're not there mother and you do not no what's going on in there life. Do your job help the animals.

There was a dog hit in the highway and the dog was brought into the clinic and instead of scanning for a chip to notify the owner, they sent the dog to Colorado Springs where it died on the way instead of having its family by its side. Absolutely CRUEL, DISGUSTING, and IMMORAL. As a vet tech of 14 years, I would NEVER bring my animal here, especially after reading other reviews.

I can no longer justify there high prices. Had a really sick dog a couple years ago I was made to wait 4 days to be seen. When we finally went to appointment they advised of a horrible rare infection and to go to the ER pet hospital in Springs when arriving at ER they quickly diagnosed dog that it was to late wouldn't survive. And said they have no idea why Hill Top vet gave us this false hope and sent us to ER. Maybe because it was 3 pm on a Friday and they just wanted to go home??? Just recently had a dog with an eye bang bang was running 10 minutes late to appointment they refused to see my dog said I had to reschedule. That they are short staffed. You wouldn't expect this response based on the prices they charge. I can't tell you how many dozens of times I've waisted of my life waiting and waiting in the examination room at this vet. But you don't be 10 minutes late or your pet will be refused service and suffer. It's clear at this point all they care about is $$$$ and getting coffee breaks on time and not your pet. Currently searching for new vet in Pueblo West. Sure miss DR. Kathy the old owner of this vet.

They were never particularly…read morecompassionate or caring -- with our pets or with us -- but they seemed professional enough at first. A year and a half ago, we adopted a dog with epilepsy who requires daily phenobarbital. Even though Bellaire performed the initial exam (covered by the Humane Society), they refused to provide a written prescription, forcing us to purchase the medication directly from them rather than using affordable options like Chewy or Amazon. The pricing was also inconsistent -- we were charged the same price for 30 pills at one point and 40 pills at another, with no explanation. At his annual bloodwork in May, we were quoted $85 over the phone but charged $173 at the visit. They claimed this was for a "complete screening," but that wasn't communicated ahead of time. We recently switched vets for these reasons. In reviewing our records from Bellaire, we discovered a receipt showing allergy medications under our epileptic dog's name -- for a completely different pet. When we called, Bellaire confirmed it was a mistake but offered no apology or concern about the confusion it created regarding what medication our dog actually takes. During that same call, we asked them to send our new vet the results from our dog's most recent bloodwork. Instead, they only sent a payment receipt -- no lab results or test values. Their actions were not just unprofessional, but questionable. Other vets we've spoken to have said it's "not right" that Bellaire refused to give us our dog's prescription. It seems like this was done to force us into buying the medication through them, and they charged inconsistent prices on top of that. We would not recommend Bellaire. If your pet has ongoing medical needs, we suggest you reconsider taking them there.
