I did think the fish batter was a tad doughy on the inside, and yet a little overcooked on the outside. Not the end of the world though, and I still enjoyed it. We did stop by during the week for lunch and the truck was closed, which was a bit annoying. One of the brewery employees said this place doesn't always open reliably, for various reasons. Just something to be aware of. Better luck on the weekends. Overall it's a nice spot right next to the Alaskan Brewing Company, which has lots of great beers and a nice patio spot out back to eat your fish, have a beer, and hang out with your dog. Yum!

There is a lot of seating, but keep in mind it's all outdoors, so bring rain gear and dress warmly. Juneau weather can change quickly! There are several bars nearby if you want to grab a beer or wine to enjoy with your meal. You order your food, find a table, put your number on it, and somehow the staff always manages to find you and deliver your food. I have no idea how they do it, but they always do! Yes, it's pricey, but the quality is worth it. They only serve fresh, sustainably caught Alaskan fish, and you can really taste the difference. My go-to order is the Variety Taco Trio (I know I should branch out, but it's just so good!). The fresh salmon tacos when they're in season are fantastic, and the halibut is always a winner too. My husband loves the rockfish and chips--the fries are seriously stellar. They also have a great selection of local sauces for dipping, and you can help yourself. If they have the halibut chowder available, do yourself a favor and order it. A big bowl of warm, creamy chowder on a rainy, chilly Juneau afternoon is absolute perfection. They also offer oysters and champagne if you're looking for something a little extra. A quick note: they have plenty of signs about no outside alcohol, and they are very serious about it. Do not even think about BYOB--they will ask you to leave. They have free water available from jugs with cups, so just enjoy what they offer and follow the rules. Located downtown in Juneau, Deckhand Dave's is a must-stop for seafood lovers. It's casual, it's outdoors, and it's one of those places that feels like a true Alaska experience. The marinade on the pork bbq was very classic. Sauces available at the stand. Many different items and combos you can build. I wanted one thing though and that was this stick of bbq. It was fantastic. Thicker cuts of meat that typically used but it was tender to eat right off the stick. Just the right amounts of meat and high blood taba.
