I will say I have had no issues with the staff and they've all been very kind even doctor Denny as well no issues as far as hospitality. In fact, I loved everyone there. As far as the appointments, though, something was off and a little fishy. He had said one tooth had too many fillings and it needed a veneer so I did that and it was a huge amount of money. I think it was around $800. After that I had problems with the tooth and he said it could've been a hairline fracture or it could need a cap and he was ready to schedule an appointment for that. Not only that is he pointed out that I had about three teeth with cavities in it. I also asked him to shave down my teeth and some areas from some bad fillings. I had gotten previously from a different dentist and he never did that for me. I decided to go to Kendall Rhodes associates. They didn't find any of the cavities. There was nothing wrong with the tooth that he wanted to fix a hairline fracture for. Not only that is on a very first appointment the dentist smooth out my fillings without me having to ask, she knows it and said how terrible and just went into it. I'm blown away. I want to believe that this is a good dentist and that money isn't a contributing factor to the decisions he made on my teeth. But I'm having a really hard time justifying all the money that I've spent. I'm very thankful I went to another dentist where I feel like they aren't just trying to milk my money.

I came in today to see Dr Wechter for…read moresome reassurance/diagnosis on an issue with my mouth/tongue....SO GLAD I DID! ...From the moment I spoke on the phone to Angelica, to the stellar care I experienced, this entire practice had things dialed-in! Here are a few experience highlights: 1. Angelica (phone receptionist)was so kind. She spent much time with me on the phone and was so cordial and kind. I felt she truly was empathetic and she worked to find me a next day appointment with Dr Wechter at his SB location. 2. Their SB office is located right off of Pedrogosa. Their is an elevator, for those who are in need, such as myself (since I am also recuperating from a foot surgery). 3. The entire office is the most immaculately clean office....just superbly clean, aesthetically appealing and non-cluttered with a bit of higher-end Spanish Mission theme. They obviously take great care to keep things clean/sanitary and relaxing/comfortable 4. Dr Wechter is the kindest and most authentic doctor!! He is VERY giving of time...even sits with you after, to be sure all your questions have been answered and he is a master in his field. He was so cordial and I felt that he truly desired to listen and help. He didn't talk over me, and fully explained everything. **I've seen a lot of doctors in my time, as I have worked as a nurse for many years, and thusly must give high props to Dr Wechter for being the "whole nine yards" for everything you'd like to see in a doctor. 5. Dr. Riviera is a good oral surgeon but the office manager is grossly incompetent. If you do not want to spend hours waiting there, go to another practice -- there are many qualified oral surgeons in Santa Barbara, whose office managers are effective and competent.

A good friend of mine recommended Dr. Layus and although it's a bit more of a drive for me, I only usually visit the dentist twice a year so no biggie. Let me just say, I am so very very glad I switched! Dr. Layus is such a nice guy, and he made me feel very comfortable. I felt like he was honest and didn't try to upsell me the whole time (one of the reasons I left my previous dentist). He offers Invisalign, which I am very excited about because I've been considering doing it for a couple years now. My old dentist did not do Invisalign, so that's a huge plus. I am returning in a couple weeks to do a scan for Invisalign and will hopefully be able to get started soon after! The hygienist, Tatiana, was great and very knowledgeable about airway dentistry, which was another huge plus as I have recently been learning quite a bit about airway health, and she was able to give me some really wonderful insight. The woman at the front desk, Anayi (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) was really sweet and easy to work with. Overall I loved my experience here. My one and ONLY very small complaint is just that the waiting room is really small. But it's an older building, and they have made it look really nice and updated inside. The bathroom was clean (really important to me), and the whole office was decorated cute with beach and surf photos. I forgot to grab photos at my first visit, but I will be going back in a couple weeks to do my Invisalign scan and will update my review with photos then!

Dr. Savidan and his hygienists are compassionate, gentle, and consistent with the quality of work they provide. I've had some terrible dental experiences in the past, and have never felt worried about any part of the work I've had done there. From my initial visit, to having fillings, cleanings, and anything insurance related, Beachside Dental absolutely raises the bar for how a small business should operate. In addition to being liars who can't stand being called out, they not only manipulate the review system, they also manipulate the DHMO system. That is to say they take money to provide services, but then do everything they can to deny those services. For those of you who don't know how a DHMO works, the office that accepts DHMO gets paid a flat rate by your insurance, and in return they are supposed to give you the basic services like a cleaning a couple times a year. But that's not enough for this dentist, they make up fake issues and try to do unnecessary work in order to bring in extra money. Read some of the other reviews, it's horrifying. My personal experience was they made me run through a bunch of hoops to get a basic cleaning that I was due through my dental insurance. Extra xrays and exams, multiple appointment times on different days (so they can bill extra, doesn't matter to inconvenience the client). Then had the nerve to try and tell me I needed a couple thousand dollars worth of work done. I evidently have all kinds of problems that my former dentist that I saw twice a year never noticed. It was sus, so I went back to my former dentist to get a second opinion; he said there was no evidence I needed any of the work Beachside Dental was trying to get me to sign off on. They wanted to mess up my perfectly healthy teeth to make a buck. And no doubt have me follow up with additional expensive procedures later to fix the very real issues they would have likely caused. When Beachside found out I had gotten a second opinion, they refused to honor my insurance and DHMO and even do a cleaning. They "won" after all, collected money and didn't do the work they were supposed to. Run, don't walk away from this crooked practice.
