First off, this is my second time leaving a review. The dishonest practices don't stop with them; the first review they requested it be taken down saying I was never their customer which is a flat out lie. See the screenshot of my appointment confirmation for proof. In addition to being liars who can't stand being called out, they not only manipulate the review system, they also manipulate the DHMO system. That is to say they take money to provide services, but then do everything they can to deny those services. For those of you who don't know how a DHMO works, the office that accepts DHMO gets paid a flat rate by your insurance, and in return they are supposed to give you the basic services like a cleaning a couple times a year. But that's not enough for this dentist, they make up fake issues and try to do unnecessary work in order to bring in extra money. Read some of the other reviews, it's horrifying. My personal experience was they made me run through a bunch of hoops to get a basic cleaning that I was due through my dental insurance. Extra xrays and exams, multiple appointment times on different days (so they can bill extra, doesn't matter to inconvenience the client). Then had the nerve to try and tell me I needed a couple thousand dollars worth of work done. I evidently have all kinds of problems that my former dentist that I saw twice a year never noticed. It was sus, so I went back to my former dentist to get a second opinion; he said there was no evidence I needed any of the work Beachside Dental was trying to get me to sign off on. They wanted to mess up my perfectly healthy teeth to make a buck. And no doubt have me follow up with additional expensive procedures later to fix the very real issues they would have likely caused. When Beachside found out I had gotten a second opinion, they refused to honor my insurance and DHMO and even do a cleaning. They "won" after all, collected money and didn't do the work they were supposed to. Run, don't walk away from this crooked practice. read more

Went there once last year. Apparently I needed ~$5k amount of work done on my teeth although I never felt I had major issues. And the dentist made me feel uncomfortable and tried to shame me about my teeth. Should have listened to those red flags. I was asked to put down a deposit, any amount, so I put down $100. Life got crazy and I moved so I never was able to get the work done. I called for a refund and they said it would show up in a few weeks. It never did. It's been a year. And now their office has been closed for a month apparently with no date to reopen and I can't contact them. Glad it was just $100 but something fishy is going on here. Especially reading all the other stories. Also, I went to a new dentist in CO and although there are some issues with my teeth, they did not say that I had to fix any of them at this time and that they weren't necessary especially if I take good care of my teeth. So Beachside Dental is really sounding like a scam right now. Read the other negative reviews. read more

Although I had already read many negative reviews, I made the mistake of giving this dental practice a chance due to location and being limited in choices by my DHMO. Due to the confirmation of the veracity of the negative reviews by my own personal experience, I have chosen now to forgo dental care rather than get any done at this office. They are dishonest, and tried to have me get unnecessary work done, with the ominous prediction that things might not go well and a simple procedure could turn into a much more severe and expensive one (while I was under the proverbial knife/drill, with no options to back out). I have no doubt that the more expensive would have been quite likely, as it is apparent this practice is about drumming up large bills regardless of what is truly necessary. Even if you have a dental emergency, I would urge you to seek care somewhere else, or risk harm to both your budget and mouth. Like a bad mechanic, a bad dentist can make more problems for you than you had going in. You'll also notice no positive reviews within the last year. Some 5 star reviews from 4-5 years ago but anything recent is 1-2 stars. read more

Crooks! Don't trust these scam artists. They will try to make you believe that the most expensive options are the only option for you and that you need them. I was about to look for two other jobs to afford all of this, until my friend's mom who worked for a dentist looked at their plan for me and said that it is ridiculous and not needed at all. They caused me to believe I needed it to save my teeth. I got my teeth worked on by a much better dentist thousands and thousands of dollars less and in my budget. Avoid this place!! read more

I really love my dentist office. They were the only place in town that was understanding of skipping X-rays when you are pregnant. Luciano is a great hygienist and really helped me with my flossing technique and is extremely thorough with cleanings. read more

Dr Peters performed a procedure to install a crown for me. After the drilling was done the assisting technician asked Dr Peters if he would put in the temporary filling and he snapped back to her no you do it, so she did it. When I went back to have the permanent crown installed the new technician was not able to get the temporary out. Dr Peters spent about 30 minutes using a small hammer to get the temporary filling out. After putting in the permanent crown he tried to X-ray the crown but his X-ray machine was broken. He put me in another room but that machine was not working either. He then asked for payment in full for $2000 which I paid He refused to use my insurance I now have a new dentist read more

To say that they are the best dentist I've ever had would be an absolute understatement. Dr. Savidan and the rest of the Beachside Dental team consistently provide some of the best medical work I've experienced. Dr. Savidan and his hygienists are compassionate, gentle, and consistent with the quality of work they provide. I've had some terrible dental experiences in the past, and have never felt worried about any part of the work I've had done there. From my initial visit, to having fillings, cleanings, and anything insurance related, Beachside Dental absolutely raises the bar for how a small business should operate. Do not use Dr.Peters! Refer to the reviews of his now closed office.. Dental Arts of Santa Barbara on Mission st. His office claimed my insurance did not cover my dental work. I paid out of pocket and submitted to my health reimbursement account. My HRA was denied because ALL of the services were covered by my insurance. My husband and I had to force Dr Peters office to refund our payments. The dental work I received was a 1 on a scale from 1-10. I repeatedly told Dr.Peters that I did not like the results but he did not fix what I asked. I now have a dentist who knows what he's doing and is repairing the work Dr.Peters did. read more

I am so happy I picked this dental group. Amazing staff that were very kind. They treated me in a way I'd never been treated. Each step they made sure I was comfortable and they explained each of my many questions thoroughly. The last dentist I went to, the dental hygienist (or aide not sure their title) basically talked down on me and made me feel gross for not flossing or taking care of my teeth properly. Suffice it to say I was terrified of the same experience happening again, especially since it had been 9 years since I had a cleaning. All in all I learned that the number one thing they care about is that the patient is comfortable. I also learned that the dentist is supposed to be painless, and if they are 'hurting' you and not accommodating, you're allowed to just walk away. The whole experience made me feel much less scared to go back and they helped me with my phobia of dentists. I would rate them higher if I could. read more

I am a finance professional and have had Dentists as clients in my career. Been going to this dentist off and on for a few years but going elsewhere. They are only open in SB Friday and Saturday. No hygienists and the Dentist does the teeth cleaning. At first I thought it was just because he was getting started, but that schedule hasn't changed and still no hygienists. His teeth cleaning is pretty superficial as well. My situation called for more immediate care recently due to a crown that partly broke off. I called to get an appt in mid December and was told nothing was available until March. Their fees are now the same if not a bit higher than other dental practices open 5 days a week. I suppose if you have an emergency and they have an opening on Friday or Saturday it could work but I am going elsewhere. read more

Beachside Dental is a Santa Barbara Mesa treasure, and they are open on Saturdays! Dr. Savidan and his staff go out of their way to make me comfortable, answer my questions and explain each procedure to me before continuing. He has amazing state of the art equipment, my favorite is the tiny camera wand surrounded with tiny LED lights. This tiny 1/4" camera/light device takes digital photos that are immediately displayed on the large flat screen so that I can immediately see and understand what needs to be done. Later, the same large screen shows beautiful tropical island movies that help me stay relaxed and calm. Following my recent visit, I decided to write a Yelp review and asked Dr. Savidan to write down what he did, so I could use the language correctly, here is the list. Thanks for being a great patient...here's a quick summary of your treatment: - fractured cusp on an upper premolar - relevant medical history of possible trigeminal neuralgia - x-ray and clinical exam of tooth in question - determined a fair prognosis of tooth, due to fact that fracture does not extend to root surface - removed old restoration and minimal decay - placed a light-cured resin core buildup...made it look "pretty" :) Best Dentist Ever! read more

I had been dreading getting my wisdom teeth pulled, and went in for an appointment with Dr. Savidan to get them checked out. He said he could do it right then and there, and 20 minutes later they were out! Wow easiest dentist appointment ever. I like that he just numbed me up as apposed to being put on twilight too. I gave Beachside Dental a try after going a few years without a checkup, as they were able to accommodate me on a Saturday AND have a generous student discount. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful; they're on top of scheduling/communication, and the actual checkup/cleaning was painless and thorough. Dr. Savidan explained my x-rays, highlighted areas to be aware of, and didn't try to upsell me on anything beyond a good dental hygeine routine. The entire process was very professional and top notch. When I made my appointment with Laura (office manager), she made me feel very very comfortable. She answered all my questions, and greeted me with a smile upon my arrival. She made me feel special. The office looks very upscale, and the equipment is brand new. Dr. Savidan has amazing skills including not only the ability to do great general dentistry, but also implants, root canals, etc. Most General Dentists refer you elsewhere for this. Dr. Savidan is a graduate of USC Dental School, and served our Country as a Dentist in the Air Force. Dentist has a fairly low profile non promotional approach which is refreshing in that profession. He also does have good equipment. No dental hygienists on staff however and he does his own teeth cleaning which in my view is a very superficial cleaning compared to others I have had in the past and more expensive. He now appears to be open three days a week as opposed to two which seems odd to me given the rent he must be paying but this makes him much less accessible. One of my crowns broke recently and I called them a few weeks ago to get it replaced and they couldn't fit me in until March. But more importantly, the quote I got was 20% higher than well established dentists in the area because I called a couple. For the record, I wrote a more upscale review on this dentist a few years back, but things have changed. I would say if you have an emergency and he can take you quickly, you may pay a bit extra, but he will get it done. read more

I avoided going to a Dentist out of fear for 6 years. A piece of my tooth came off due to decay. I was embarrassed and anxious and needed to do something ASAP. I work Mon thru Fri and thankfully Beachside Dental is open on Saturday. I was so embarrassed and scared but Laura, Geri, and Dr. Savidan were supportive.
