You can't schedule in advance more than a few weeks out for a some reason, they never answer the phone, and there's some hard sell procedure on every visit to try to extract more money from you. They are aggressive on billing, they actually brought the credit card machine into the room during my treatment to pay *during* my filling. Other times they call and email over and over to collect bills I already paid. They won't do a cleaning and exam on the same visit, you have to do 2 separate appointments and they won't do a cleaning unless you sit through the hard sell and agree to the procedures they want to do. They got annoyed when I asked a question about what they wanted to do to my mouth and said I shouldn't ask questions because it "affects the quality of care they can provide" . Um no, answering patients' questions is exactly how you DO provide quality care, not the other way round. No one ever answers the phone so you have to ask questions during the appointment but they just want to crank your teeth into dollars and keep quiet I guess. Had to go back 2 more times to get a filling smoothed out because they were so rushed the filling was lumpy and rough and I couldn't get floss around it. They were annoyed with me that they did crappy work to begin with. I stopped going here after that. It's a drill-mill, good luck.

A good friend of mine recommended Dr. Layus and although it's a bit more of a drive for me, I only usually visit the dentist twice a year so no biggie. Let me just say, I am so very very glad I switched! Dr. Layus is such a nice guy, and he made me feel very comfortable. I felt like he was honest and didn't try to upsell me the whole time (one of the reasons I left my previous dentist). He offers Invisalign, which I am very excited about because I've been considering doing it for a couple years now. My old dentist did not do Invisalign, so that's a huge plus. I am returning in a couple weeks to do a scan for Invisalign and will hopefully be able to get started soon after! The hygienist, Tatiana, was great and very knowledgeable about airway dentistry, which was another huge plus as I have recently been learning quite a bit about airway health, and she was able to give me some really wonderful insight. The woman at the front desk, Anayi (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) was really sweet and easy to work with. Overall I loved my experience here. My one and ONLY very small complaint is just that the waiting room is really small. But it's an older building, and they have made it look really nice and updated inside. The bathroom was clean (really important to me), and the whole office was decorated cute with beach and surf photos. I forgot to grab photos at my first visit, but I will be going back in a couple weeks to do my Invisalign scan and will update my review with photos then!

The only problem is that because he's so good, Its hard to get an appointment. But it's worth the wait. For the past 5 or 6 years I have been needing to floss after every meal as to not allow food to get stuck which just kind of became my routine but all of that flossing caused damage to another tooth as well requiring a second filling. Because I have never been a huge fan of getting dental work done, I pushed it off for way too long. Dr. Hlavaty had me in and out feeling like the gap was never there. The doc and his assistant consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable and fixed both teeth before I knew it. The process was quick and painless. I feel like in the future I will be far less hesitant to get dental work done because I know I now have a great dentist to rely on.
