This place is amazing! A MUST SEE!!! I went there today for my two-year anniversary with my boyfriend. From the outside i didn't expect much but as soon as I walked in I was floored! The atmosphere was beautiful, romantic and VERY Italian. We immediately were seated (mainly because we arrived in between lunch and dinner). If you plan to come during dinner, I highly suggest making reservations! The bread they brought out was fresh, warm, and had perfectly crunchy crust. The waiter (Jason) was very friendly and knew all about the dishes. I ordered the Roast Glazed Lamb Shank and my boyfriend ordered the Shrimp Scampi. I was expecting hefty prices but even the steak and lobster dishes were reasonable. The roast lamb was cooked perfectly! I have never in my life had a dish that had so many flavors yet all of them melded together perfectly. It came with garden veggies and risotto. The veggies almost tasted like they were grilled and the risotto tasted sweet, this complemented the lamb which had a tomato like sauce over it. This is the ONLY restaurant that he has ever been to that actually got shrimp scampi right. They put the lemon in the sauce, which was very thick and even with the flavors from the butter and the garlic coming in, it wasn't too over-powering. Over all this was an amazing experience! We went for Christmas Eve. We had a group and all of us had a lovely time. Our server (young man--forgot his name) was wonderful. Place was packed but service was pretty fast in spite of that! The entire staff was very pleasant. I was so looking forward to the beef Carpaccio appetizer, as it's hard to find. However, the left side of the plate was swimming in Olive Oil. It soaked in too much of the razor thin beef, and the presentation was lacking. For the $15.00 cost, I wouldn't order again. My Tuna on crostini bread was wonderful! However, the chef should skip the salsa. It's over kill as the tuna and other sauces were just perfect as is. My husband's two lobster tails were very good. In my opinion, the sauce was a bit much...it would have been better if not so much as to let the lobster flavor come out more. The crab cakes were excellent! The steak my sister had was tough. But, all in all, everyone enjoyed their meal!!! The desserts were divine! Not the best Italian I've ever had, but very nice! You shouldn't miss this Place. It's worth a try! I was in town visiting with my parents when they suggested we have dinner at Mesa de Notte. It was a Sunday and when we arrived, we were one of a few tables inside. I guess no one eats out in Ocala on Sundays. We were received promptly and seated at a table of our choosing. The service was great, I really liked Tabitha. She was patient with me as I had a hard time deciding based on the large menu. There are not only pastas, but pages of entrees. I also had many questions that she received well and provided knowledgeable answers. Of course, what I wanted wasn't on the menu. I prefer spicy sauces as opposed to creamy ones so they were kind enough to let me order off the menu. I ordered Shrimp Fra Diavolo and it was pretty damn good. I also added some mushrooms and broccoli. I would have preferred wild mushrooms or portobello but it was good nonetheless. Their wine list was reasonably priced as were their entrees. My parents thought this was a bit more pricey; however that may just be in terms of Ocala as it wasn't expensive comparable to Denver. All in all, great service and great food. read more

A great local restaurant offering authentic Italian dishes with excellent service - the spaghetti with sausage comes highly recommended! Our family of 4 enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight, so this is a great spot for date night or a special occasion. Entrees include soup or salad and bread to start and are in the affordable range. Perhaps best of all, the staff was friendly and attentive as we had no less than 4 people stop by our table to help serve and make sure we were enjoying our dinner. read more

We just returned from our son's wedding in Ocala where we had Mesa De Notte cater the rehearsal dinner at a local residence. There was just under 100 attendees and Julian Osorno, General/Catering Mgr. was such a pleasure to work with and he took much of the pressure off of my wife and I so we could enjoy the evening. We stopped by this evening, BEST FOOD WE HAVE THE PLEASURE TO HAVE SINCE WE MOVED TO OCALA ONE YEAR AGO. Antipasto Freddo, wonderful, Mushroom Soup, you must order one, Fish Special was Salmon in a very tasty Champaign sauce with pasta, so tasty and perfectly cooked. Ordered the mushroom soup to take home. You are not rushed between courses, Waitress Amanda attended to our every need. We will surely return. read more

I've been driving past this place for years now. My only regret is that I had not gone sooner. The food was fabulous arguably the best pasta dishes in all of Marion county, the atmosphere had such a great vibes. The best part though was the service. Other than the food, the service was outstanding, very attentive and you can just tell staff had great leadership. 10/10 read more

Returned to Mesa de Notte to celebrate our 46th anniversary. Again, a great meal! The veal marsala was excellent, Mario, server, was most attentive and friendly.
