Dr. Quinn did the surgery in his surgical suite which is attached to his office. The nursing staff could not have been kinder, the anesthesiologist was very knowledgeable and put in a pain pump that lasted for 3 1/2 days after surgery. That in itself would be a one of the reasons I would really recommend this place. I could feel no pain at all during the worst days- by the time feeling in my arm came back. It was really just a little bit of an ache. Not really even a pain. I am one week out from the surgery, so my postop is not until next week, but I can move my fingers and my thumbs, and I am not in pain! I will update after my postop next week. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.

He had been given up on by all other doctors in our area at the time and was deemed a lost cause, not in words as much as willingness by other doctors. You saved his life, you gave him back a life he thought he couldn't have. You took a chance on him and his complications. I am forever grateful for the many years my son lived after receiving surgery from you. My son recently passed away on March 18, 2024, by going to the Dentist. Of course, I can not discuss what happened to him, but, I can assure you that it should have never happened. I just wanted you to know that I have thought of you and what a difference you have made. I have been through a lot in my short time on this earth and I have encountered many doctors and professionals in healthcare and many could learn from you! I know Jordan appreciated you also, because we had talked about you periodically. You saw him just last year and said how well he was still doing. That is what makes his death so difficult. He was in excruciating pain immediately following the procedure, and despite repeated attempts to reach the podiatrist, we were unable to speak with him until the following afternoon. Because the surgery was performed on a Friday and the office was closed, we felt completely without guidance or support during what turned out to be a very difficult postoperative period. Instead of addressing our concerns with compassion, the podiatrist became confrontational when asked why we received no post operative guidance and why he was unavailable. He raised his voice, spoke over me and focused on defending himself rather than addressing my husband's condition. As a spouse advocating for my husband, I found his behavior both shocking and unprofessional. My husband is currently hospitalized due complications from his surgery but we are hoping for a full recovery. I realize that complications can come from any surgery but communication, availability and respectful treatment of patients should never be an option. Due to our experience I cannot recommend this practice. I have to leave a star unfortunately in order to post this review.
