While she must be a good surgeon by how my shoulder healed, she is awful at the caring for her…read morepatients and practice more by set in stone medical procedures instead of personalized medicine. A medical procedure by U of M killed EBS, so I understand how that can hurt people. Rotor cuff surgery is only out patient surgery no matter what for her. That might work for those who have no one to stay with you, known heart problem, and breathing problems. Lucky a recovery nurse and another doctor thought differently and I was kept overnight. She was so angry at that she didn't even stop to see me after the surgery. I had to go through Customer Care department to even get her to order just 1 OT before surgery to learn the correct way to do every day activities not using my right arm. That was not enough time so lucky I had an OT therapist stop in my hospital room before I was released. Follow up appointments with her were cold and she was still angry. I will only see her PA for the rest of them. Some doctors seem to not like to be questioned by someone who can do medical research and know what her insurance will pay for. She just kept telling me that I had to pay out of pocket for the OT appointment and any overnight stay but my insurance did cover both. If you are young and healthy, you might be able to follow her procedure medicine, but if you are older and not healthy, find a different doctor.

Muh provided confusing post op instructions, and I brought my spouse with me to hear all messages after the first meeting; both of us would leave confused. Both of us were stunned at her anger when questioned. While she did prescribe OT, she argued with the OT therapist. I ended up needing 6 months of therapy to get 85% function back in that arm, and still have significant pain. I can't say that the surgery was bad, but I can say I was led to believe I would have different outcomes. When questioned about outcomes when I finally convinced her I needed more therapy, she became defensive and argumentative. Take someone with you for all consultations.
