I can say without a doubt, that my wife and I believe Mountain View is the best private elementary school there is. It has that small town, small school feel, with advanced academics. The ratio of teacher to student is much lower than most schools. All the teachers and staff are amazing and engaged, and Mr. Schneider is an incredible principal. Everything they do just feels right and our little loves going to school everyday. They also have a multitude of festivals, choir events, clubs, and sports. It's amazing what they are able to provide with such a small campus. I can't say enough good things about Mountain View.

Class sizes are small and it is very much a community in that school. All the teachers know all the children and the children all know one another, regardless of grade. The religious foundation that my daughter received at Mountain View has helped to shape the person she is today, and I'm grateful for that. We love the ladies in the front office and my daughter was always crazy about Mr. Schneider, the principal. He takes the time to get to know each child. Every Monday he would ask Jenna if she had played softball over the weekend and how she did. In fact, he even surprised her when he showed up at one of her softball games. To say that it made her day is an understatement. While I don't think the education she received at Mountain View is better or worse than what she would have received anywhere else, the foundation she did receive shaped who she is. She is in a charter school today and is a National Junior Honor Society member, so clearly Mountain View did something right. I am glad my daughter attended Mountain View. Many of the teachers (current and former), teachers' aides and other staff still stay in touch via social media to see how Jenna is doing. Can't ask for better.

His current school, had an IEP in place within weeks of us moving here . He's had so much support and encouragement, and they've gone out of their way to catch him up. They also recognize that he has an extraordinarily high IQ and have gone out of their way to bring this out in him.. I hope the children at Vasiliadis get this approach in the future.

While Candil Hall offers a great curriculum, there are too many problems that contribute to a poor…read morelearning experience for children. First, the staff turnover is incredible. One year my daughter had 3 different teachers. Each year they seem to have all new teachers and staff is constantly coming and going- other than about half of the teachers who are all related to the owner. The school is family owned which can contribute to a family feel of the school overall. However, if you are not related to the family, personal friends with the family, or volunteer with the school, your child and your family will be outcasted and excluded. Only some kids are invited to play sports. Kids they do not want on their sports teams are not even invited to try out. The principal/owner Mr. Diller regularly yells and swears at the kids. He is demeaning and borderline abusive to the students. Candil Hall also allows bullying and in some cases promotes or praises students who bully. Children who are bullied are not protected by the school. They get no help even when they feel so unsafe they don't want to go to school. Student to student threats are not taken seriously. It's incredibly disappointing the lack of concern and support shown to children at this school. While my child did leave there more advanced academically, she also left there with psychological trauma, fear, distrust of schools and teachers, and overwhelming feelings of confusion because she felt so unsafe in the place that she should feel the safest. I regret ever sending my child to this school and wish I could undo all of the trauma Candil Hall has caused her. Additionally, if you ever have any issues with the teachers, the staff, the family, etc. you will be talked negatively about and they will spread rumors to other parents about you. This school is not worth it, please look elsewhere.

My daughter is going into 4th grade now, and she still remembers this place and her teachers. Pretty incredible since she was here from ages 2-5. Very friendly, family oriented staff, that takes the time to get to know you and your kid(s). I think the bad reviews for this place are from "Karen's" that won't be happy anywhere. The P.E teacher was very picky and choose about favorites and would deliberately leave students that were considered weaker or bigger to the sidleines when it came to anything sports wise rather than teaching the sport. When I went a teacher threw my art work in the trash for one and from the people I see that went/ go there she's still rude and completely driven by numbers in class being high. Focus on your students well being! the education there is actually good just socially not the best. I was an autistic nuerodivergent child and never got explained to when I did something wrong or got acutely taught how to reflect just pure fear of punishment. Do better with children that need more help. And maybe actually explain to children why thingsare wrong so they dont just be afraid of you and your staff. And they never took bullying seriously and would make the "bullying" seem either more severe than it was or not care at all because its "just kids being kids". The original principal was probably the worst one but the new one is wonderful and does her job so well she was always very sweet. The choir program when I went had a female teacher that clearly hated her job and would complain all the time. She didnt want to teach us anything important about music. And the "acting" portion is barely a program, the teacher for that one was very funny and sweet though at least towards me. Barely any supports for the arts if your child is passionate about it. And any counseling support was awful because they had counselors in and out literally all the time and there was one good one and she left.

Like a lot of the HIDDEN negative reviews, I was promised an environment that I could call my second family. This promise was never fulfilled. This school may seem to offer a faith based education, but with the amount of nepotism and favoritism all of that goes down the drain. The teachers preach to walk in the path of Jesus, but prove to the kids that it's okay to cheat on tests, as long as you pass. Kids of faculty and staff are favored and don't have to pay their tuition on time. The bullying policy here seems to be nonexistent. Kids in my class were always bullied by other kids, being called gross, dirty, and weird all because they showed slight difference. I am upset that the teachers didn't tell them that was unacceptable, because it is. Instead it happened. I hope my former classmates are doing well after the trauma of being degraded and no one doing anything about it. With the amount of private schools out there, there are better ones with better education and staff and a wayyy better environment. Please look into your options before even thinking about this school.
