While reading through some of the reviews, I noticed a few negative ones and took the time to understand their perspective. To be honest, I feel it's a bit unfair for a place to receive a low rating because children spend a lot of time playing outside, make crafts using scissors, or because a child cried when adjusting to school. These, in my opinion, are natural parts of childhood and development. Personally, I would only leave a negative review if I had a genuinely bad experience, such as staff not doing their job, children being unsafe, not being cared for properly, or not being treated with love and respect. But that has not been my experience here at all. As parents, we all have different expectations and values when it comes to raising our children, and we naturally want environments that align with them. For me, this place has done a beautiful job with my son. He is in an environment full of play, learning, love, and strong values. I don't want my child to be in a competitive or stressful setting at such a young age. In fact, I've been pleasantly surprised by skills he developed here that I hadn't explored much at home, like using scissors confidently. Instead of seeing it as something negative, I realized I had been underestimating him. He is capable of so much more. The teachers are incredibly kind and supportive. Discoveryland Milpitas is a Christian Daycare, but you don't have to be a Christian to attend here…read more It's not a fancy or academic rigorous daycare like Stratford and Montessori, but that's ok because these kids are just toddlers to about 5 yrs old. Once they are in grade school, they can enroll in the Foothill Adventist Elementary next door on the same campus. I pulled my 3 year old fr his home based daycare and transitioned him here so I can claim childcare on my taxes, give him more structure, socialization with his peers and I can see the difference. Instead of him glued stuck on the babysitter's TV or iPad, he has outdoor play, arts and crafts, gradual learning words and numbers. Most importantly, they learn manners and are geared towards what's appropriate and not. In the summertime, they are laxed and allow the children to enjoy the outdoor more. They also have fun activities planned with game day, waterworks's, rent jump houses, etc. Childcare hrs 7:30-6pm, max hrs/day a child can be there is 9.5 hrs. They provide breakfast, snacks and lunch which is all vegetarian. They prep their nutritious food onsite. Only downfall is they use disposables plates, etc which is not environmentally friendly. Office staff is friendly and always greeting with nice salutations. My son got scared of his teacher for a while, but that was because he was misbehaving. Other than that, it's a pretty nurturing environment. Compared to other childcare center, it's more affordable and food is provided. They also have some financial aid for those who qualify.

I put my kid in a Montessori for a week, they used to call every day complaining that my kid was crying or pulling the cabinets etc. I changed him to Happy hearts academy and never ever received a call (except when he is sick), they made sure my kid was happy and got adjusted to the environment. Before attending the school, she never liked looking at books, but she quickly became fascinated with them. Things such as letters, colors, science, and math are all covered at various times of the year. The activities they have going on throughout the year provides the child an understanding to things outside of a normal curriculum. GV does things such as having guest appearances from firefighters and police officers, celebrating Indian and Asian holidays, and having various field trips all provide the children with knowledge that they can only make away from the classroom. My son started pre-pandemic and continued through virtual and then back on campus- so we've seen how MCS has dealt with change and the obstacles covid-19 threw at them and wow they were amazing. They really stepped up to the challenge every step of the way. They exceeded all expectations and then some. They always helped me get to the point where I was comfortable with things and went above and beyond in every stage of the pandemic. They were amazing pre-covid but they really shined during covid. Their virtual learning was so good and the teachers (Mr. Urbach) were able to adapt so well! We went back on campus in September - and they made us feel as safe as they could - following social distancing protocols, constantly cleaning, etc- while providing such a great education and support system for my child and myself! It has been a struggle this year for everyone but the love and support and the dedication that the staff and the teachers have provided for me and my family has been amazing and I don't think can ever properly express how thankful I am for them. I really wanted to give this school 5 stars, but i was so disappointed in our experience this year…read more i think if your child attends the morning or all day session, you would have a great experience. and I would recommend this preschool to anyone looking for that time slot. but for us, my child was in the afternoon session. it was great in the beginning of the year. i saw a lot of progress and the teachers are wonderful. you can tell that the kids are cared for. but after the start of the new year, they took out some of the older kids from the all day class they kept piling in more and more new younger kids in the afternoon class. this class was supposed to be a 4 yr old class to prep for kindergarten. now over half the class are 2 and 3 year olds. the poor teacher is stuck with bored 4 yr olds and younger kids that can't keep up. no one is really learning anything new. the director was showing around a new aide and i overheard her refer to the class as the "buffet class". not sure if that's something to be proud of! if the school is going to advertise a 4 yr old program, they should stick with it throughout the whole year. I'm just am really disappointed. i was hoping to send my younger one here, but now i think I'll have to look elsewhere.
