We display at the international builder show in Las Vegas and also at numerous other shows around the country. So, I go to 84 lumber to get wood and tell the person what I'm doing and I need really straight wood. I let him pick the wood out. First mistake. I get back home and one of my employees start cutting up the wood without checking the quality of it and shortly there after we realize how bad the wood is. So I take it back and get a credit, which is great. They credited me back a portion of the money since it was cut. We decide to change to a pre-engineered wood for the displays so it would be straight. They were going to have to cut them down so I asked could we just cut them down to 116 inches and they said that would not be a problem. Since it was Friday afternoon I said would it be easier to pick up Monday morning and he said yes and then I said will they be ready by 8:30 if I come in and he said yes. So I'm running late on Monday I don't get to 84 lumber until 3 PM and being the Covid situation I just go to the back area where Wood is picked up because I like to minimize the amount of places I go in if possible and since this was already paid for and I have an invoice that shows that I didn't think it would be a big deal. So I get back there and give my invoice to somebody and no one has a clue where it is or what it is. So they just grab the wood and start cutting I noticed after he cuts a few stacks the lengths are not even close to being the same. So I asked him about this and about that time his manager showed up and I was explaining to him how the lengths needed to be 116 and he said he would re-cut them but I said I will just make them work. But they really need to train their guys on how to cut wood since it is a lumberyard. So the manager takes over and cuts the wood and then when all is said and done he asked me who took the order and I pointed out to him Aaron which was on the invoice. He then rolled his eyes. He went and talk to Aaron and I guess Aaron told him that I was supposed to meet him at 8:30 at the front desk and the reason they weren't cut is because it was raining out. I don't see what rain has to do with cutting wood inside. It still could've been ready. I then said whether they were ready or not they still should've been cut correctly and he needed to train his guys how to cut wood. Which I guess he took offense to. I then called Aaron who went on to tell me that I did not follow the procedure of checking in at the front door and if I would've he would have cut the wood for me and we would not of had this problem. In our conversation on Friday he said nothing about me coming to the front door and checking in. I also Saw no signage about this and that procedure was not listed on the invoice. He said the wood will be ready by 8:30 AM. He accused me of verbally attacking the employees outside which I did not do and he was not even present. I was frustrated but I did not verbally attack them. I have never been treated like this at a store in my life.

At the second store, I not only had to find help, only to discover that none of the three employees could help me. I then opted to see if 84 Lumber could help. I highly recommend 84 Lumber because they actually train their employees! Thanks again, Bryce!!

When one isle is blocked due to other customers, I try and park my cart in the adjacent isle and pick up my items. Only to return and find my store credit receipt gone from the basket in the cart. My bad to have left it. Then I needed to pick up one cedar tone 2x4 from Menards outside second floor yard shelf. I of course left my cart again on the ground floor, walked upstairs picked one 2X4 and came back to my find personal 25-foot tape measure gone out of my cart. Long story short they changed it and got it wrong, so they told me to call the store today and no one answers the phone. Worst customer service ever, not to mention most of the time I can't get a solid answer to my questions before buying something. NEVER BUY A FIREPLACE FROM FIREPLACE STONE & PATIO IN LINCOLN…read more We started at Fireplace Stone & Patio 5 months before we needed a fireplace. Tom sold us the most expensive fireplace on their floor. We also picked out stone to place around it. We tried to ask about specs of the fireplace, needs for construction, and even how to pay. Tom NEVER RETURNED CALLS. Tom's voicemail is always FULL. It's how he avoids responsibility. The person that takes the calls is the rudest, least helpful excuse for a "receptionist" that I've ever experienced. When told that Tom's voicemail is full (on 5 or 6 different calls), her response was always similar to "what do you want me to do about it?" Finally, after weeks of trying, we were finally able to pay for the fireplace. Our contractor worked to order the stone from Fireplace Stone & Patio. Today, the fireplace and stone was supposed to be installed. First: The pile of stone on our driveway was the WRONG STONE. Second: The stone we ordered, and that shows on our receipt, is no longer carried by Fireplace Stone & Patio. They can't get us the stone we ordered. IT'S THE DAY OF INSTALL. Third: Our contractor called Tom at Fireplace Stone & Patio to see if our fireplace required steel studs. Tom reassured our contractor that it does not. Today, Tom tells us we definitely need steel studs, and our contractor will need to rip our the frame and redo it. IT'S THE DAY OF INSTALL. Fourth: The fireplace was ordered to be installed recessed within the frame. Today, when we checked after work, the fireplace was NOT installed as we had asked. When buying from Fireplace Stone & Patio, WE DID ALL OF THE HEAVY LIFTING, and THEY STILL SCREWED IT UP. Not only that, but they don't return calls, are unfamiliar with their products, have no idea what they even have to sell, and are extremely rude on top of it.

As they wrapped up instillation had me sign a paper that they finished while one person was "working on finishing caulking." I discovered when they left they he did not complete caulking. Probably because the edging was so poorly done that they would need a very fat strip of caulking to hide it. I had another professional out to look at it and he said they are so uneven that they need to be removed and be redone. They also left a space between pieces of quartz. I know I should make them fix it but I fear they would just make a bigger mess.
