I've been coming here since I took the 6 week class and been buying the day passes. This place is THE BEST. I like that the day passes give me the flexibility to come whenever I feel like it. They have two shelves for day pass work, so you can leave your work here to dry. The staff is also super friendly. Having the store right next door has been so convenient -- I've bought some of my own tools from there. If you're thinking about coming here, just do it!!! The private lesson, group classes, and day passes are great.

*did a private class* Our instructor was Jenneva and she was so fun! I liked how instructive she was and helpful, she made it effortless and she's overall cute vibes. We did a two person private event/ class and were able to successfully throw 3 cups/bowls and it came out super well! I highly recommend jenneva as a teacher. The 6week classes are hard to get into so if you want to try it out once I would suggest to book it this way. They were also super friendly when it came to making a time slot, they gave us a few choices to pick from and we had booked this class three months ago. Whoever I talked to via email was nice and I liked how simple it was to set up!

My cup on the wheel

I loved everything about this experience. The location, the teacher and I'm obsessed with my little green cup. I'm always looking for new hobbies and ceramics is one that's been on my list for a while. Merritt ceramics was my top choice because of its convenient location. It's close to my house & the lake but I didn't have trouble finding parking. The instructor was really helpful and she emphasized how physical ceramics is so we should rest after. I appreciated that insight a lot because I hadn't considered it. They also offer 1 time classes, 6 week courses, and monthly memberships. I'm still trying to figure out which session I'm going to join I can't wait to go back & thanks for the 5 star service

If I could give more than five stars I would! It's hard to find a way to describe this place but I…read moredon't think what you may find does it justice! Essentially it's a buncha mini games in rooms that range from physical to mental and pushes you to really listen and work together. Don't expect the grand theatrics of a commercialized space like Bodaborg. But that's what gives it its charm. I've been to a few facilities similar to this in the east coast and have always loved them but Game On has a more thoughtful local feel. We even got a chance to talk to one of the creators Eric and got the lowdown on the place. It's clear when you hear him talk that this place is something truly special. On top of the fantastic service and time, game on was extremely quick and responsive when I emailed and called the next day after I realized I lost my gold bracelet!! I had a suspicion that I lost it in one of the more physically intense rooms... and sure enough James went and found it for me immediately. NOT ONLY THAT! But he even fixed it himself and it was back in perfect condition when I came back to pick it up. This place is great for team gatherings but just be ready to test each others patience (in the best way possible). And I'll be honest but the games are not easy, but that's the magic in it. They're design to make you think and try again and again and again. Game on is probably great for all ages but is especially great for 21+ since you can chill and grab a beer between sessions. If you want something unique to do with your peers, coworkers, and friends I highly rec you spend some time at this local Berkeley establishment!!

Play More - We play rhythm games that start very simple and get more complicated as the workshop goes on. These games get the whole group synched up.

The games are challenging mentally and physically, helping to develop skills and seed enjoyment at the same time. I now find myself constantly challenging myself even in everyday tasks outside of their workshops too, asking myself, "how would Zach and Marria want me to push this to the edge of my capabilities?" At the gym, simple movements level up when I think, "I wonder if I can do this while balancing on one foot?" On top of it all, Marria and Zach have such a clear wealth of knowledge about how the body and mind function, and they love communicating that to their students - all of their activities have function and purpose. And regarding communication with students - they are incredibly supportive facilitators, and their encouragement keeps the whole workshop moving so fast that I always am shocked when it's over, because it feels like it's only been a minute, even though I'm sweating! A+, would play (and have played!) again.

Jason is a fantastic instructor -- patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing his craft. We each got to make a vase, a whiskey glass, and an ornament, and if you worked efficiently, there was even time to make a second piece. What made the experience even more memorable was the little touches Jason added -- he brought water, oranges, and chocolates to keep everyone fueled and happy throughout the session. It's the kind of thoughtfulness that shows he genuinely cares about his students having a great time. Jason has his own studio in San Francisco where he sells wall sconces, amazing high end pieces and teaches out of the Alameda location,m.
