We found a car, a 2008 Ford Escape at another dealership for $7000 that was a year newer than what what we had to trade. Kia offered us a 2012 Ford Escape that had everything I would hope for in the next car I would own. It was $13,500. It was more or less accepting where we were in life and settle for the old car or strive for a life where we would feel comfortable driving a car such as we purchased from Kia. The experience was one of optimism or failure for us and buying from KIA allowed us to gain confidence to face the future in a sensible, realistic way. The payment will be managable to our ability to pay and I think my wife will be pleased to drive this car to a good job once she finds the one that fits her abilities. This isn't much of an endorsement for KIA itself, but as a decision to work for what we want and we are glad to have that option in our lives. KIA gave us that option and it was a pleasant experience.

However, I would still verify your warranty yourself through the warranty company as this is how I found out I was give incorrect information and whether it was deliberate, or not, it still should not have happened. Be very careful going here for anything service related. They completely lied to me about what my warranty covered after waiting over EIGHT hours for a call back. They also took almost a week to simply get it in for diagnosis even though I am 95% sure I know EXACTLY what is wrong with it. I would not recommend their service department for any reason whatsoever. Absolutely AWFUL. Learn how to schedule because it should not take this long for ANYTHING. DO NOT GO HERE.

I purchased a 2014 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0 (blue) for $14,000, and during the test drive the check engine light was already on. I was assured it would be fixed before everything was finalized. That did not happen. Over the next seven months, I barely had the Audi because it was constantly in the shop for the same ongoing issues. I spent more time without the vehicle than with it, despite repeated assurances that the problems had been resolved. I was also required to purchase an extended warranty for $4,000. Before signing the paperwork, the salesman advised me not to use the warranty for a certain period of time or it would not cover anything considered "pre-existing," even though the dealership already knew the Audi had pre-existing issues. The warranty covered nothing, and I paid over $2,500 out of pocket for repairs the dealership would not fully cover. When I canceled the warranty, I was only refunded $3,200, resulting in a loss of nearly $1,000. Because the dealership could not fix the Audi, they replaced it with a 2014 Buick Encore, which was valued $3,000 less than what I originally paid for the Audi. Despite this difference, no adjustment was made in my favor. Even more concerning, the dealership later put the Audi back on their lot for sale at the same price I paid, despite its known issues. The 2014 Buick Encore's check engine light came on the day after I brought it home. The dealership kept the vehicle for several days, stating it was repaired, though I was not given a clear explanation for why it remained at the dealership for that length of time. After getting it back, the vehicle continued to run poorly and the check engine light issues persisted. This entire situation caused significant financial loss, stress, and months of inconvenience. I do not recommend purchasing the 2014 Audi A4 Quattro, and I strongly caution buyers that even extended warranties may not provide protection. I recommend getting everything in writing and being extremely cautious when dealing with this dealership.

Steve came highly recommended by our friends, Jim and Darcey Widmann, and now we know why. After shopping all over Des Moines for a truck, we encountered dealerships that either patronized us, hassled us, or made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about. Some even tried to convince us that we couldn't get what we wanted. But when we walked into Toyota of Des Moines, it was a completely different experience. From the moment we were greeted, we felt welcomed and respected. Steve allowed us to choose the vehicle we wanted without any hassle. Every incentive was explained upfront, and the level of transparency was refreshing. What truly set them apart was their willingness to meet our needs on the trade-in. We were told by a Ford dealer (who originally sold us the Bronco) that we could never get the trade-in value we wanted, but Toyota gave us exactly what we asked for--no questions asked. Steve and the entire team at Toyota of Des Moines worked with urgency, respect, and professionalism to finalize the deal in a way that left us completely satisfied. This level of customer care and attention to our needs is what made us feel valued. Toyota of Des Moines embodies what it means to be a true car dealership. We are now proud Toyota brand loyalists and look forward to a lifetime of Toyota ownership, provided the company continues to deliver on its promise of quality in both manufacturing and sales. If you're out there shopping for a vehicle and struggling to find a dealership that truly listens and puts the customer first, look no further than Toyota of Des Moines. Thank you, Steve Henigan, and the entire team--you have earned our loyalty!

At the time of purchase, both the owner Darby and the salesperson explicitly represented that a second key was included and assured me it would be sent to me right away. Afterwards that the money was sent and this representation being a key factor in my decision to move forward with the purchase. What followed was a frustrating series of excuses, contradictions, and outright fabrications. I was told vague stories about "a guy named Joe" supposedly having the key, only to be given the runaround, hung up on, and sent on a complete goose chase that wasted a lot of my time and patience. Ultimately, the promised key never materialized, and I am now being told that replacing this high tech 2021 M5 key through the Dealer will cost approximately a bit over $1,000--a cost that exists solely because Car City failed to honor their word or simply find whats now pointless cost/ expenditure. This is not a minor oversight; it is a clear case of misrepresentation. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic integrity shown throughout this process is unacceptable. A dealership that conducts business this way should not be trusted. I strongly advise potential buyers to get everything in writing and to think twice before dealing with Car City. Buyer Beware seriously. This dealership will promise you anything it takes to close the sale and then vanish like Casper the ghost the moment the paperwork is signed. Their word means absolutely nothing. They rely on deceptive tactics, including slipping a so-called "one-pager" - "No Promise" into the paperwork that conveniently attempts to nullify every verbal commitment they made to you minutes earlier. It's a calculated maneuver designed to give them cover later so they can claim they "never promised anything." All the while telling you it's on its way. This is not an honest mistake or miscommunication -- it's a pattern of behavior meant to mislead customers and dodge responsibility after the deal is done. If you choose to do business with Car City, assume every promise will be broken, every follow-up will be ignored, and every issue will suddenly become your problem. Get every single detail in writing, read every line twice, and understand that once they have your money, their integrity disappears completely. Bottom line: even if in writing, it doesn't exist at Car City. Expect promises to vanish the moment they have your money. This dealership talks a good game until the sale is complete. After that, accountability disappears and excuses begin. This dealership operates on misrepresentation, excuses, and denial. If integrity matters to you, do not do business here...
