Is challenged over her medication. Has no air conditioner g in her room while every other room has air conditioner and it's been a 100 degrees many days. I got to visit her almost everyday and we go outside well today we go outside in to the parking lot so she can sit in the car and have some air conditioning and I get told today that's not allowed yet it's been just fine everyday. Then I had our sons with us and they said we couldn't be out there because they we concerned with her safety. Yet they sent the desk clerk out and then a female with an attitude and security was behind both of them. I'm glad he's not keeping my house safe. Why would you put a clerk and a female in front if you're concerned for safety? Then the supervisor threatens to not let my wife back in the facility. If the supervisor wanted to do her job she could have looked at the check in paper and seen we were family. Then I got told the parking lot was off the property. So the facility just uses other people parking lots. Even though it's a dead end with nothing else there. Unbelievable. I'm filing a complaint against silver springs with the governor next buisiness day. I've seen people sitting in the hallways soiled and l have left and came back and they are still just sitting there. I could keep going on it's truly unreal. And here we are 8 hours later and still not even a call. To sum up. My wife had her husband and two sons visit. We had permission from the front entrance associate to go to the parking lot which was done several days prior with no issues. But when advised the mentioned actions were not permitted there was immediate compliance by patient/ resident and yet the patient was threatened to be locked out so care was no longer available , even though said patient never said anything and was completely compliant and all visitors were verified. So her well being was compromised for complying. Then the facilities manage on that day decided to search her room stating her medical record warranted such search. First of all she is the for broken bones. It drug addiction but most important apparently the staff has access to hippa protected information or the supervisor lied. This isn't close to being over. There was no running…read morewater in the bathrooms, and you could not flush the toilets or wash your hands after using them. I was in three of them. Not one had running water and all of them had something in the toilets, no bottled water in any of them either. I used the sanitizer station in the hall. When I asked them why, the Aide or Nurse told me Legionnaire bacteria is in the water. My friend has been there a month and they haven't had running water in the building since then. Trash is all over the floors, cleaning staff swept trash under a bed while I watched. It smells and all the windows on the second floor that I looked at were screwed shut. Don't they know what safety bars are? This place should be shut down. In response to David's reply...the water has not been turned on for over a month in there. It was off when my friend arrived and it's still off. Second, I am not a liar, the windows were screwed shut in the room where visitors visit, how do I know this? because I went to open one when the stench from feces in the toilet THAT WOULD NOT FLUSH got too overpowering for me. And third, I watched an employee sweep trash under a table and walk away. AND FOURTH...If you think I am stopping with just this review...think again.

How difficult is to care for your patients with kindness? It was Friday afternoon, and they complained about still having patients. They didn't care if anyone could hear their conversation. Once in the examination room, one of them repeatedly insisted taking more x-rays, even after learning that I had x-rays two days ago. They didn't get the results from my PCP, they said. As I didn't want to be expose to more radiation, I decided to reschedule and come back with my disc of x-rays. However, the assisting staff decided it was ok not to have the x-rays results, and I should wait for the doctor. The doctor was professional and helpful. I wish she had not rushed so much and had recommended something for my nerve pain other than the cortisone shot. I listened to her, and purchased the gel pads in her office in good faith. The space didn't feel clean. The chair I sat on was stained, and difficult to accept sitting on it. Poor air quality despite the AC and smell of old dirty mops.

I don't know but I pay quite a bit for medical care and the practice I go to can not provide me with a letter as to my overall medical condition, how absurd. It is part of their job to determine my medical condition based of my test results and other criteria. This organization is the most unprofessional medical practice I have been there. Do yourself a favor and do not go there.

I'm almost surprised to be the first to post a review of Community Health Care of Meriden, CT…read more(hereafter referred to as CHC), because although it primarily serves low-income families and patients, most of aforementioned families somehow manage to stay current with the latest technology in smartphones, thereby giving them access to Yelp. But, enough about that, let's talk about CHC. In a day and age when healthcare corporations are shipping in the "finest" of medical professionals from overseas, many domestically educated physicians are relegated to positions in less prestigious facilities. This can be good news... and bad news. Physicians seem to be placed under a number of factors. How much are they willing to accept as a salary? Are they willing to relocate? Are they willing to work in a community-based facility as opposed to a large hospital. For the record, I've come to find that many doctors do not even work for hospitals, rather they pay the hospital for use of their facilities in addition to their own private practice. This is why you get such a large bill after using a hospital's services. You're paying for the hospital's fee, plus the doctor's fee. As for the rest, well, some physicians didn't place very high in medical school, yet passed the state medical certification board. Consequently, the more professional facilities will not hire them, AND due to the limited number of spaces available in these finer healthcare facilities, some of the more intelligent and knowledgable physicians end up working in facilities such as CHC. That's where the good news comes in. It's refreshing to see that some of the finer doctors aren't too proud to take such a position, especially because they entered the healthcare profession to care for the sick, the elderly, and the infirm. Twenty years ago, such community-based healthcare facilities couldn't afford to pay enough for the finer physicians because the demand outweighed the supply. Let's face it: in all fairness, a medical facility that runs in the red will close its doors before long. CHC is actually a network of facilities throughout the state of Connecticut that strategically places its services where it will be most needed and utilized. It also places such services in consideration of how much it will cost to fill the other needed positions, be it registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or even a receptionist. No receptionist will travel in excess of 25 miles for $9.00/hour as they'll be losing money in the process. So with that in mind, be prepared to deal with a little less than ideal customer service when dealing with CHC, at least in Meriden. There are some very good doctors at CHC who will take the time to listen to what you have to say, weigh it in considering your regimen and show genuine concern for your general well-being. There are others, however, who consider themselves above their position and will argue with you, especially after making you wait for 1-3 hours just to see them, only to inform you they're very busy and only have 5 minutes to see you. Such self-important doctors are lacking in a very basic, yet required skill called time management. There are also other doctors who are obviously unhappy with their current position and will go the distance to make it almost impossible to see them, just to lighten their workload. Their attitudes, for lack of a better word, suck. These are the ones to avoid. I will not name names as I do continue to use this facility and do not wish to incur the wrath or lack of cooperation of any particular professional who is sympathetic to the problematic doctors' situation. Just use caution. After a visit or two, you should be able to see a pattern and then request a new doctor. Ask around. If you get to an appointment and someone in the waiting room is complaining they've been waiting for over 90 minutes past their appointment time, it may be wise to find out who their doctor is and take it from there. I believe CHC is a great facility with a few bad apples in the bunch. Fortunately, those bad apples do not spoil the bunch. Now if they could just do away with that policy restricting appointments to no later than 2 weeks from date...
