I have some complex health issues and Dr. Richards, a chiropractor, has shown no limits to his expertise and willingness to go above and beyond to help me cope with difficult and painful issues. I read the reviews first, probably like you are doing now, then I called and explained my vast health issues and knew from the first appointment that I had found a true professional that knows his stuff. Who knew that a chiropractor was going to be the one to ease my symptoms and share valuable insight and give me exercises (vestibular, digestive, autonomic etc) to get me to a better place? I started seeing Dr. Richards a few months ago for a nagging shoulder injury while bench pressing. I have had this injury for almost a year and worked with another Chiropractor with no relief. After my 3rd visit, there was a noticeable difference to my shoulders. I've been going to Dr. Richards for the past few weeks for some issues I have with my lower back and hips (due to a slip on ice a few months ago) and an unrelated knee issue. This was my first time ever going to a chiropractor, so naturally I was really nervous and had no idea what to expect. But Dr. Richards thoroughly examined me and walked me through exactly what he would be doing for my adjustments every step of the way. Once again, Dr. Richards to the rescue! Last year, Doc diagnosed me with a sacroiliac issue; this was after seeing an ortho, massage therapist and acupuncture. I was able to return to exercise after a couple of weeks of his therapy and suggested exercises. In the middle of this pandemic, I began to feel like the issue may be returning. I have been a patient of Dr. Richards for over 10 years. I can honestly say I would not be working today as a court reporter if it wasn't for his chiropractic expertise and holistic care. My very first (and last?) review on Yelp, but Dr. Richards definitely deserves to be known to everyone. Being 31 weeks pregnant I started to become more immobile by the day and even getting in or out of bed was a true disaster. Within 2 visits at the warm & welcoming office of Dr. Richards I felt like I did before being pregnant. What a miracle! Via the OB I've seen the physical therapist, but twice 30 minutes at Dr. Richards did lots and lots more, than all those visits at the OB & physical therapist together. Dr. Richard even made some extra time available to have a look at my 18 months old daughter for her ears, and even if she fears doctors, she was comfortable within just a few seconds. (The luxury toy-room with a 'view' on how mummy was at the table with Dr. Richard in the adjacent room, might have added to the trust). I was given Dr. Richards's name by my midwife practice, at 37 weeks pregnant, because I started to have sharp back pain due to the weight of the baby. I was fearing that I'd end up having back pain the rest of my pregnancy, and that I'd just have to endure it. I was also nervous that the back pain would permanantly damage my spine, because it felt so acute and painful. I went to Dr. Richards's office a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. However, I immediately felt at peace when I met him- that I was in the hands of not only an extremely competent and knowledgeable professional, but one that was very empathetic, kind, and calming. During my first session, Dr. Richards's explained what was happening with my back, provided adjustments which were specific to my pregnant body and had accommodating props. He also taught me how to stand up and down with the added pregnancy weight, do different stretches, and little tricks to help with the pregnancy and helping my back. He also does some work on my round ligament- which I swear has helped me to have a more easy pregnancy and no more round ligament pain. I also believe that with his chiropractic care, my labor/birth is going to be easier. I cannot recommend Dr. Richards enough. My back pain was completely gone after only several sessions and I feel as good as I did pre-pregnancy. Dr. Richards's work to heal my back pain has been a lifesaver and I highly recommend him to everyone- especially pregnant women like myself!
