I was highly recommended to this little gem by my dry cleaners. I found out this is where companies…read moresend their clothes to get altered. Agnes' talent for sewing and alterations is shown through her work. I come here every year to get my suit tailored. This year, I had challenging alterations where my travel/carry-on bag was tearing due to wear and tear. Agnes was able to sew a unique triangular strap onto my travel bag. Her adjustment made the travel bag continue its long life. I highly recommend for any alterations or sewing need to come here. Butler's prices are the best in town. My only con is that if you need service during the weekend. You have to wait until Tuesday to get work done. The business is located in what looks like a residential house. Very close to the South Augusta airport. Look for a sign in the yard.

Ms. Agnes and her team graciously worked to meet our deadline. What makes them exceptional is their customer service. The first time we went to pick up the dress, the train was still too long, which was my fault for not having the correct shoes for the first fitting. Ms. Agnes got to work with the pins and the dress was ready for pick up two days later!!! And at no additional fee for my mistake! We will use Butler Alterations for all of our tailoring needs.

I needed a zipper replaced in a new skirt. The zipper that came with the skirt was flimsy. I was…read moretold that my skirt would be ready in a week, but received a phone call the next day notifying me that my skirt was complete. Not only was the job well done, but the customer service was excellent. I will definitely return for more alterations.

I paid $100 to have a dress turned into a fitted two-piece Halloween costume. The mother initially…read moredeclined because she does not believe in Halloween but said her daughter could do it. I respected that and waited around 30 minutes after being told she was 10 minutes away. During the fitting, her daughter asked whether I wanted a loose or fitted look. When I requested fitted, she rolled her eyes and reacted in a way that made me feel she was disgusted by my answer. She then impatiently said, "Come on, come on," while turning me to finish measuring. At pickup, I received a similar reaction when I confirmed I wanted the skirt shorter. These reactions made me feel sexualized and shamed simply for wanting a costume that fit my body. It was uncomfortable having someone measure me while making me feel judged about what I intended to wear. She is making all the requested adjustments. However, my complaint is about her treatment of me. Accepting someone's business means treating them respectfully, regardless of personal opinions about their clothing. The way I was made to feel was unacceptable.
