Andrew Johnson, APRN (Pain Clinic) 404 Jefferson Street…read morePella, Iowa 50219 _____________________ If I weren't a nice person I might use the word unscrupulous but because I try to maintain a peaceful demeanor, I'll just say that I was very disappointed with there misleading tactics in order to get me to have the radio frequency ablation procedure. For many years I have been taking a weaker pain medication called Tramadol HCL and I clearly asked the practitioner if he would help taper me off this medication because it was no longer effective after years of use, he said that he wasn't set up to prescribe pain medication (controlled substances) but that he would prescribe the Tramadol for a shorter period of time to help taper me off. Nonetheless, once I decided against having the spinal radio frequency ablation but would try physical therapy again before taking such a big step, Andrew Johnson, APRN (practitioner) abruptly refused to refill my medication. He later tried to defend his position by staying that his agreement to refill my prescription was conditional and only if I agreed to have the ablation procedure. He is not a very nice person and showed very little compassion or concern for my health. I felt as though this pain center was only interested in money and not the patient, very poor business tactics and I would not recommend anyone that prefers medication over surgery, etc, to go here as they would be wasting their time and they would regret the entire ordeal. It's very discouraging trying to find quality care, this person wouldn't even help me renew my disabled parking permit, he instead would make another excuse and say that he can't do that, I would have to ask for help by my primary care physician. A very big waste of time and a bunch of sales pitches!
