Therefore, anyone considering having Lynn complete alterations, be forewarned!! -- I took my daughter's prom dress into her a month before prom. We went through everything she wanted/needed to have done and was quoted $200, and then reduced to $170 before we left when I about fell over at the price. We were told to come back 4 days before prom for her final fitting, which we did, only to find that the ONLY thing "done" was that she (had only) started creating the corset back. The hem was not done, nor were the sleeves even touched yet. When I asked about the sleeves (which were to be removed to make it a strapless dress), Lynn said, "oh, you still want that?" YES we still want(ed) that...it was one of the MAIN things my daughter wanted to make the dress look "right" on her. I had to send my daughter by herself to pick up her dress the day before prom since I had to work with cash for payment. I about fell over dead when she text me the invoice for a total of $235!!! I immediately called asking to at least honor the original quote of $200 since that's the amount of cash I sent with her. Lynn did reduce it (to which I'm AM grateful) but let me tell you, the work provided was NOT worth $200! Her hem was just tacked in a few places going around the bottom, there was no bustle done for her train (and therefore proceeded to get stepped on all night long of course), the sleeves were "done" but just so they barely resembled what we requested and lastly, the corset was created BUT didn't even match up on both sides!! She had 7 loops on one side and only 6 on the other (refer to pictures on the google review I submitted). Thankfully(!) I could hide it well enough with the bow that no one else knew but me and my daughter. It became clear to me afterwards that she obviously took on too many jobs and couldn't complete them properly--at least not ours. I work in the bridal industry and have, in the past, recommended Lynn to my brides for alterations. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will never send any of my brides to her. I don't want to have any association in the event that a bride's dress hasn't done as it should be.

I had it cleaned there once before with no issues, it came back great. This time however, the dress was completely ruined. Needless to say I was very upset, as well as the girl at the counter who said she would notify the owner of the situation immediately. The owner, Vernetta Jones called me back right away. She was apologetic, and it was obvious she felt terrible about what had happened. She took full responsibility for the mistake and offered a reimbursement for the dress without hesitation. It was a 200.00 dress. She turned it in as a claim, and the amount offered for reimbursement was less than the cost of the dress, due to the fact her insurance company figures in depreciation. Vernetta instead wrote me a personal check for the full amount of the dress. This is why I am giving Value Cleaners a five star rating. Although it is very upsetting when something important to you gets ruined, everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how the business owner handles the situation when these things happen. In this day in age there are few businesses to actually stand behind their services, and care about customer satisfaction. You really don't know how good a business is until a mistake does occur. I choose to support businesses whose owners are honest and have the integrity to rectify a situation that puts the customer first. I will continue to use Value Cleaners, and highly recommend them because Vernetta Jones is one of those people.

Went to get them once a week for the next 4 weeks & every excuse was given to me......"my driver forgot them, it's a holiday week, we just don't know where they are, what to you expect us to do?" Each time I went in to pick up the pants, the place was empty. I would have to yell or make lots of noise through the place so that the employee "zoraida" the female employee (glasses & multicolored long hair) Could come in off the back stoop where she smokes. The place is dirty, moldy looking and smells like smoke. The owner Vernetta Jones ignored my calls for assistance regarding the matter until I mentioned the pd & BBB in my message. She finally admitted that she lost the pants & said she would write a refund check. Promised the check would " be there this morning". Went to pick up check this morning and "zoraida" said she had no idea what I was talking about. She called the owner, Vernetta Jones, who then began to yell & scream profanity at the employeee, (I could hear her through the phone). The owner then hung up on zoraida(employee). At that point the employee stated that there was nothing she could do and stated that she had a lot of things to do and for me to leave! Don't go! Save yourself the time, money and trouble.
