Five stars for quality of work, knowledge, efficiency. I was driving from San Francisco to Yosemite early on a Friday when my alternator failed. Thank goodness my tow truck driver knows Mr and Mrs Hector, who own this shop, which was only one Brock away. Despite having a full schedule, as do most auto shops on a Friday, these amazing people checked my car, confirmed that this was caused by my alternator, obtained the right one and installed it. While they worked, they dropped me off at a nearby lunch spot and by the time I finished eating, the repair was complete and they'd fully tested the car. So I have to start off by saying that there customer service beyond exceeded my expectations! The entire staff was so friendly from the girl at the front desk to the guys in the shop. They recommended what I needed without being over barring or pushy. All of this made me feel like I could trust them with my car and took all there recommendations. I took my car in a perfect condition for alignment, they took more than 3 hours to do it, I was waiting there for a more than 3 hours, the alignment was even worse than when it went in, the tires were half of an inch off from both sides from the alignment, when they said that my car was ready they parked it right in front of the exit so that I could've hop on and leave which I did, the next day when I was washing the car I noticed that they had dented the roof from side to side, I decided to tell the owner, he said he wanted me to take it to a guy that works at his house so that he could fix it other than that he wasn't going to make himself responsible for it. read more

Yesterday, July 17, 2017. My wife and I were on vacation from Southern California, heading north on Interstate 99 toward Angels Camp, California. I felt a vibration in my steering wheel. To me, it felt more like a wheel out of balance. So, my wife googled near by tire shops. Pep Boys and Merced Tires came up. I chose the small local tire shop instead of the major corporation. We rolled into Merced Tires @3:45PM. I parked my truck, walked up to a bay which three guys were in, one actually working on the suspension of a white Ford Crew Cab truck. The other two were just standing over the mechanic engaged in their own conversation. I simply asked, if they would be able to assist in looking at my front tires, "I've got this steering wheel vibration, seems to me a Tire may be out of balance?" Without any hesitation, All three said, NO! The worst response a Small Business Owner should ever say to any customer, NO! Again, time was 3:45PM. On a Hot Monday afternoon in July. Approximately, 30 minutes later on Highway 59, in the apex of a left hand turn, trailing @60-65 miles per hour, you guest it. The Right Front Tire Blows Out! These three should Not be in Business. Their personal conversation is worth more to themselves than the Safety of Human Life! I'm here today, writing this review because, I know, Not many people would be able to correct and drive through this potential accident. Rollover or Head on collision, traveling on a two lane highway, as did. Even the officer of the Highway Patrol told me, that I was very lucky not to have rolled my truck or over corrected onto on coming traffic. To the Gentlemen, of Merced Tires.
