Took some time but I feel an honest mechanic and honest repair quote I would recommend

I couldn't get my Mercedes sprinter to shift into gear to take to Modesto for the maintenance. I had to cancel my appointment and I waited for Service to call me after four hours, I called CentralValley European and a lovely man that answered the phone told me to run the car for 20 minutes and try again I it worked like a charm! So the value was infinite! I will definitely use this place when my warranty is out! read more

Perfect place for any European vehicle. Shane is a big help. Will return for further assistance.

I really wish I would have known about this place years ago. After years of having to deal with the horrible customer service at Fresno BMW (see my other review for further) finding this place was like finding gold. Shane is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. Every time bring my car in he does a complete inspection and let's me know when things are starting to show signs of wear so I can plan out what items will need servicing in 3 months, 6 months, etc, so there are never any "surprises" when I come in. They are also very flexible and accommodating with appointments. All the work is done quickly and at at a very reasonable price. Like I said, I wish I would've started bringing my BMW here years ago. Don't take your BMW anywhere else either. read more

I very rarely write reviews but had to since Shane did an awesome quality repair job. Shane treats your car with respect and treats it like his own car. He takes his time to fully diagnose the issue before making any repairs. This is a how every business should be run! read more

My service light came on in my 2010 328i BMW. Shane diagnosed the problem and replaced the thermostat. Small personable shop. Work done professionally with good explanation and let me know what to beware of. A good find and we will definitely be using him again. read more

The service writer was accurate and knowledgeable, he didn't jerk me around on anything, straight to the point on what the vehicle needed and even offered a cheaper solution if it was possible. My only gripe is that there were grease marks on the interior, other than that all is good. read more

Great experience from first phone call to actual visit. They were able to take my car earlier than my appointment time. Gave their professional opinion about my car, even though they made less money. Honest and tons of integrity here. I'd recommend them to anyone. Thanks! read more

while driving from Yosemite to San Francisco, my engine check light came on. I called my mechanic who said doing a scan would help me determine if major or minor problem. when got to Merced, I googled and found central valley European. Shane happened yo be available and within 10 minutes, I learned a minor problem. such relief, such appreciation that Shane was so helpful. his is a family owned business, with shame following his father and grandfather. huge kudos for his assistance.. a pay it forward situation read more

Shane was able to squeeze us in early because we had to drive back to the city the next day. He communicated the issues clearly and his estimate and final bill were exactly what he said they'd be. My family and i were so appreciative that he did everything possible to repair our bmw quickly and safely to keep us on our way. read more

My BMW was overheating because of a blockage and the main mechanic Shane, helped me figure out what was the issue, what we needed to do and even fixed some pre existing issues with my vehicle as well for a very friendly price which is rare when working with OEM parts on a BMW. A few weeks after this I popped a check engine light for my air pump check valve and Shane knew to check the vaccuum lines for a leak and found one. He fixed the vacuum line and replaced it for no cost. Great service, Great knowledge and even better communication. read more

One of the two places I will take my car too in Merced. Very honest and straight forward. They know I used to be a mechanic and don't have a problem telling me when I'm wrong. Why would a mechanic take a car to a mechanic? I'm too old to work on my back. Let them do the big jobs. I have sent a few others there and they only had one complaint about all the repairs needed on the car. When I looked at the car I said it was right and they should be mad at their old mechanic for not keeping the car in tune. Ladies, they treated my wife and neighbor right too. read more

Shane- I saw this response today over two years later and I still remember exactly what happened. I kept my appointment. I didn't make another appointment with you. After you caused other issues with my car I brought it back showed you the issue and you're response was you didn't cause the problem. You didn't offer to double check or fix it it. I hope you're running a better business. Kind Regards read more

This place is great! Shane is amazing and has a reasonable price for your car work. I went in for just an oil change and he ended up replacing my key battery free of charge as well! We will definitely continue to come here! read more

Honestly Shane's shop is a breath of fresh air. Our family takes both our Mercedes to him. He's probably one of the most honest mechanics i've dealt with. Coming back from the Benz dealership you feel like you just got hosed and you can't tell if the advisors are being honest with you. Shane is upfront and a no nonsense kind of guy. High recommendations for him. read more

I have used central valley European four times and have been completely happy every time. Service here is quick and the owner is honest. It's good to know I don't have to drive Modesto or Fresno for vehicle maintenance. read more

Very helpful, have never received any bad advice, and everyone there is of the highest caliber in not just knowledge of European vehicles, but character and integrity. Highly recommend. Update: get all of your services done here. These guys don't try to upsell. Honesty and knowledge level 10/10!!!!!! GET YOUR OIL CHANGES DONE HERE NOT THE STEALERSHIP. Dealerships will break things that are not warranty and make you pay. And don't feel you have to go to dealership for service because of warranty. There's a law against denying warranty for something u related, and getting ur oil changed at a private shop is your right. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to continue to take my Foreign cars there. Good to find this Quality in Merced.

My car broke down in the middle of the Yosemite national park over the holidays. I had it towed all the way to Central Valley European as it was the closest reliable garage I could find when experience working on Volvos. They were able to get me in without an appointment and very quickly assess whatevs wrong with the car, something that multiple mechanics had been unable to do in Yosemite. Great service and helpful staff. read more

Shane continues to deliver exceptional service and great value. We had our brakes done today on the X5. No hassles, the work was done quickly, and the car came back nice and clean. Add "consistent" to my list of positive comments. read more

My Dad took my car to them to fix a wiring problem that another mechanic broke but couldn't fix after. They kept it for a while and said they can't fix it without taking the entire car pretty much apart. So we said no don't do that. They said come and pick it up when we get a chance then. So I go down there to have it towed since they don't tow vehicles and they said that we put a lien on it and already got rid of it. Also I wasn't aware that they even had my car until a couple months ago. Plus I was told that they were going to work on my car when they had spare time. So that it wouldn't cost as much. Favors like that huh no thank you. Never even went through the DMV in order to transfer the title or to get a hold of the owner which is me. For all he knew it could have been a stolen car. Which is basically what they are doing with my car. DMV just sent me mail asking if I wanted to pay to get my car out of non-operation. A little suspicious acts going on here. read more

Went in for a brake quote on Monday and Shane was able to schedule me in for Tuesday morning. Everything was done quick and easy. Super fast service, honest and knowledgeable shop! I was also recommended by my brother. read more

I have been going to this business for over 15 years and have always been very satisfied with the service. The Mundens are a great local family and operate an honest and knowledgable shop that is now on its third generation. Shane is carrying on the family business just as great as his Father and Grandfather. I trust them with my Mercedes and recommend them to others. read more

These guys were great. I brought my 97 e36 to them because it had a few check engine lights on and had some worn front lower control arms. Needless to say, I passed smog and would not hesitate to go back to their shop for my BMW. The only thing I dislike is that they are not open on weekends. read more

Took my car in with a series of complaints. Shane took a look at my car and let me know they were unable to find anything wrong with it. They even offered to keep it for further review without any more charges. So far, I am satisfied with the service I have received. read more

Took in my Jaguar since engine light was on. At first, was hesitant to take my car to a local shop instead of going to the Fresno dealership. Shane was very accommodating and honest. He told me at first he wasn't sure if he can fix it but he did!!! So happy to find a local shop that you can depend on. And, that's not all, they have reasonable prices too read more

I brought my car in a few weeks ago and was very pleased with the service I received from Munden Automotive. Service was friendly, and a full check-out was included with my service. It seems that I have finally found a trustworthy mechanic to fix my Jaguar in Merced., CA. Shane was very nice, and seemed very genuine. He even gave me a ride back home when I brought car in to be repaired. He/they quickly found the problem, replaced the malfunctioning parts, tested his work, and had me back on the road in no time. I also believe that the price was reasonable, and didn't feel there were any added on expenses (like with so many other repair shops). I would highly recommend Central Valley European Auto Repair to anyone with a European/Foreign car needing repair or tune-up. read more
