I understand being backed up but zero communication/the eta was very off with no update whatsoever.. once he arrived he was being extremely rude. I told my friend he had said he didn't know if it would make it home.. he comes out saying " I didn't say that you're putting words in my mouth" huh??? I tried explaining to him that I didn't mean to offended, and that I was only telling my friend that I was nervous to drive the car back. He comes back and says he will no longer service me.. I begged him saying it was a misunderstanding and that I'm a girl and it's a sketchy area.. late.. foggy... and 40 degrees.. he said he would send another driver and just drove off then told triple a to refuse service I'm assuming by creating a lie....he left me stranded past midnight in Merced in 40 degree weather. I will be filing a complaint and calling daily until I received a solution. No young female should have to be stranded by what's supposed to be a trust worthy tow... if no action is taken that comes to show how this company values the customers keeping them in business.. I was picked up by Driver A when he found out I needed a tow to Modesto,CA from Merced he drove like a bat out of hell running stop signs to switch with another driver at an overpass because his shift was over. Driver B then drove like a bat out of hell in the poring rain at 10pm in the night. Driving at 85 miles an hour riding other drivers asses (about 1.5 car lengths behind them) in the fast lane. I was actually wondering if he was going to get me to the destination without causing an accident. Fast and sudden stops at signs and lights as he flew up to them. This place needs to get nanny cameras and gps to monitor their drivers to prevent them from killing somebody. Filing a complaint with management but honestly I am not expecting them to do anything to the drivers. These guys should not be driving these large rigs with passengers. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a towing company, their driver seemed to be very inexperienced , #1. he tried to back my down off of the flat bed while the front left tire was still secured to the truck . #2. As he was back down he didn't remove the center cables with hooks and they pulled the body kit on my car cracking the frame and breaking the screen out of the amg kit in the front of my car , only to be stopped by one of the other patrons at the tow destination. And when I called Merced towing to report the incident I was interrogated like I was lying, i spoke to a young man Rick, and was promised someone would get back to me and no one has yet , this happened on 12/15/18 . My impression is they are not a company with integrity or any sense of professional responsibility this experience has left me with the sense of they have a us against them attitude, please be aware of this company do yourself a favor use someone else for your towing needs. read more

I had the best experience with this tow company. Usually when you deal with tow truck drivers they're rude, don't have the time, and are waiting for their next call; not the case here. My girlfriend locked her puppy in the car with her keys on a very hot summer day and they arrived less than five minutes after I called. Of course, we were frantic because how hot it was and having the puppy in the car but I cannot be more thankful for how fast he arrived so we didn't have to break the window. On Tuesday 7/19, my car got a flat tire on Highway 99. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and called AAA. When they asked for my location, I couldn't tell them - I had not been paying attention to where I was. I knew I was somewhere north of Merced, but didn't know exactly where. There were no road signs or buildings anywhere near me - I was literally in the middle of nowhere. :-) AAA dispatched Merced City Tow to come assist me. Their dispatch called me about 10 minutes after my call to AAA to try and figure out my location. By then, my GPS had come up (the battery was dead and I had to charge it) and was able to give them some idea of where I was. They found me almost immediately. Reeves was the name of the driver that changed my flat to my spare. While he didn't talk much, he was very polite and fast. After the tire was changed, he asked where I was headed - Fresno. He recommended that I not drive that far on my spare tire. I told him that I had called 6 tire shops in Merced, and all were closed (it was after 6pm). Reeves mentioned that the Sears Auto Center was still open, and offered to escort me there. I took him up on that, seeing as I had no idea where I was. He drove slowly so that I could follow him, and talked to the service manager when we arrived, explaining what I needed. Reeves went above and beyond in assisting me with my flat tire, and I highly recommend Merced City Tow! read more
