We enrolled here hoping for a nurturing, academically strong Islamic environment. Unfortunately, our experience has been the opposite.
What has worried us most is the overall culture. We have seen students spoken to in ways that feel shaming instead of supportive, and there appears to be obvious favoritism. Some children seem to receive special treatment based on who their parents are, while others are overlooked or disciplined more harshly.
Academically, there is very little individualized learning. Many students end up unchallenged and frustrated. Despite paying high fees for books, many of the materials feel outdated especially their books being from the 90's and there is very little evidence of meaningful academic progress.
The school also feels extremely stretched. One person is often handling several roles, and calls or messages are frequently left unanswered. Important concerns linger for weeks without resolution, which is discouraging as a parent. I was enrolled in Faith Baptist followed by Chamide for both middle and high schools and therefore have been exposed to quality private school education
Because of the nonstop issues with bullying, favoritism, and the lack of real education, this will be our last year at Meraj Academy.
As Muslims, we value kindness, fairness, and accountability. Sadly, our experience here has not reflected those values. I am grateful that my wife is a practicing Muslim who introduced me to Islam. If this school had been my only exposure, I may have walked away with a really bad taste in my mouth.
If you are looking for stronger academics, structure, and a healthier environment, I would encourage exploring other schools, homeschooling options, or programs that truly support children. We will exploring both New Horizons campuses, Lycee International and even the Sunland home school program. read more
