By the time kids and teachers get settled in, time has already passed so it makes sense to optimize the time by having longer periods. Sports were also great. Chaminade offers various sports to boys and girls. My son enjoyed football. It is a Catholic school which really only means that they take a religion class and there are masses for the various holidays but there are also many non-Catholic students there. The themes disussed in the religion classes vary from Old Testament to New Testament to STD education. The main "complaint" my son had was that many of the children starting in the ninth grade went to the Chaminade middle school so they already knew each other and this made it harder for him to make friends. Football helped him a lot with this problem but I still think it is ideal for a child to stay with the same group for middle school into high school. Finally, I am happy with this high school because my son did well on his SATs and I think that it can partially be attributed to Chaminade.

Obviously, the disgruntled are more likely to review a school on Yelp. My kid is happy to go to school everyday. He's thriving, learning reading, math, etc. I appreciate that he will be able to stay through middle school (TK-8). True the academics are not rigorous, but I don't believe young students should have copious amounts of HW. Students will be able to adapt to more rigorous academics when the time calls, starting at TK will just burn them out. They focus on socioemotional learning. We have met a lot of great families. The principal is excellent, diplomatic, curious, and competent.

Please don't send your kids, they will look back and hold you accountable for putting them in the situation! The relaxed learning system in this school is a huge disservice to any student. This school used to be a great learning environment and had great arts programs(up to 2017), now it's lost all that was once great about OCS!!! I am still in the know because I have close family friends that still attend.

Our child looked forward to going to school every day and really blossomed over the year. How we wish Egremont offered 6th grade. Our second son continues to attend Egremont School and will continue to do so until he graduates. With this review we aim to express our heartfelt appreciation to Tina Struve - Egremont's Principal. Ms. Struve not only leads with exceptional skill but also with compassion and dedication. We are forever grateful to Ms. Struve, faculty, security, and assistive personnel for creating a nurturing and secure environment where my sons have thrived academically and socially. Throughout the years we have formed lasting friendships that go beyond the school setting. We confidently recommend Egremont School to anyone seeking excellent elementary education for their children. Egremont's specialty classes are wonderful, my sons especially like technology, art, music, and musical theater. Egremont welcomes you as parents and families to be extremely involved in your children's elementary school years. As a family we can't wait to join the festivities: Camping Under the Stars, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Holiday Celebrations. We look forward to school productions such as the Winter Musical, Spring Productions and the Talent Show to name a few. The memories we have created as a family in Egremont will forever live in our hearts. We are familiar with surrounding schools and can guarantee you there is no school that can compare. At Egremont I have peace in mind that my sons are safe and well looked after. Egremont staff welcomes children by their name and ensure school grounds are beautifully maintained, the classrooms are bright, well - organized, and decorated with students' classwork, showcasing the children's learning journey. I asked my older son to share a few words, this is what he had to say: Thank you Ms. Struve and Egremont for everything you have taught me and done for me. I appreciate your kindness and for creating a welcoming feeling every day I walked into school. I felt appreciated and wanted. Almost everything I need to know about middle school was taught there. I hope that its amazing staff will be loved forever and that everything there stays as magical as it was when I went there. I don't think any school can match what Egremont has done for me. Egremont is a place where I can be happy.

That made me realize how much teacher-led, paper-and-pen instruction helps students focus and learn. As a transfer student, my daughter was warmly supported by teachers, her advisor, and the staff. The community is small, caring, and dedicated. I also joined a Board of Directors meeting before enrolling and was impressed by the school's organization and forward-thinking leadership. VIPHS reports an 81% college-acceptance rate, compared with under 60% at many nearby public high schools. The average class size is about 20 with a 15:1 student-teacher ratio, versus 30-35 students and ratios in the high 20s elsewhere. VIPHS is a close-knit, welcoming community that genuinely cares for students and prioritizes personal attention and academic excellence. Plus, drop-off and pick-up are so easy, a small but real bonus for families!
