We've had such a great experience with Egremont's preschool program. The teachers are warm, patient, and genuinely invested in each child's growth -- both academically and socially. Our child looked forward to going to school every day and really blossomed over the year. The classroom environment feels safe, nurturing, and fun, and the communication with parents has been consistently thoughtful and clear. My family has been a proud member of the Egremont School Community since 2019. My oldest son started Kindergarten (2019) and sadly graduated from 5th grade this year (2025). How we wish Egremont offered 6th grade. Our second son continues to attend Egremont School and will continue to do so until he graduates. With this review we aim to express our heartfelt appreciation to Tina Struve - Egremont's Principal. Ms. Struve not only leads with exceptional skill but also with compassion and dedication. We are forever grateful to Ms. Struve, faculty, security, and assistive personnel for creating a nurturing and secure environment where my sons have thrived academically and socially. Throughout the years we have formed lasting friendships that go beyond the school setting. We confidently recommend Egremont School to anyone seeking excellent elementary education for their children. Egremont's specialty classes are wonderful, my sons especially like technology, art, music, and musical theater. Egremont welcomes you as parents and families to be extremely involved in your children's elementary school years. As a family we can't wait to join the festivities: Camping Under the Stars, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Holiday Celebrations. We look forward to school productions such as the Winter Musical, Spring Productions and the Talent Show to name a few. The memories we have created as a family in Egremont will forever live in our hearts. We are familiar with surrounding schools and can guarantee you there is no school that can compare. I wanted to respond to the CEO/principal of the schools response to my review, which came several years late. It was distasteful and an incorrect characterization of my family's experience with the school. In the beginning the school promised many extracurricular activities that our tuition money went to pay for. Little by little they chipped away at them, healthy onsite school lunches, gone, Spanish classes, gone, ASL classes, gone. The nail in the coffin was the lack of a school nurse and scolding my son for lack of participation in a class activity when he was suffering from a 103 degree fever. The class size was only 6 students so it's not like they had their hands full. I believe the school promises a lot but delivers very little. Judge wisely when it comes to sending your loved ones to this school. read more

The best school! I have a 3 year old who got severe anxiety in another preschool but as soon as she started Egremont, her anxiety faded away. Thanks to Ms. Lilly and Elizabeth. My 8 year old was attending high ranked public school but started blocking math saying the teacher was getting loud when she got an answer wrong! They only cared about scores and grades not the students feelings and emotions. I pulled her out in the middle of the school year and started her at Egremont and she is doing great academically and mentally. The teachers are AMAZING! The director is super nice. The security and staff are outstanding. Highly recommend Egremont. read more

Thirty years ago my parents blessed me with the most incredible gift, they enrolled me in preschool at Egremont. My incredible education at Egremont prepared me for Chaminade middle school, Chaminade high school, Master's College, C.S.U.N., and Dental Hygiene school. I have earned multiple degrees and licenses while graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. At each school I excelled and I believe it is all from the foundation that Egremont established. The amazing teachers gave me such a love for learning which allowed me to follow my dreams and find a career I love. This year my son started preschool at Egremont. His education here will prepare him for his future and will allow his dreams to come true. Since my time at Egremont Ms.Struve has made this school into the most beautiful place. She has hand picked the teachers and staff who are all kind and incredible at their jobs. She has created a wonderful family environment where the development, safety, and happiness of each child is a priority. She gives every child and their families individualized attention. The education is spectacular. They focus on the whole child by teaching academics, personal development, social development, and work habits. The extracurriculars will keep parents on their toes as their child learns different languages, different art techniques, and about artists they may need to google when they ask their child what they learned that day. The events Ms. Struve and the staff have orchestrated are phenomenal, from the holiday concerts and open houses to the classroom celebrations. The decorations and set ups are always delightful and so amazingly thought out. It is a joy to be involved in each event. Ms. Struve took Egremont, a great school, and made it into a school any family would be beyond blessed to be a part of. I recently had another son and I am so excited for the day he will get to enjoy his time as a part of the Egremont family. read more

This school is horrible, the staff is unprofessional specially Ms TINA and the people who work with her. All what they care about is money and they don't care about the service to provide. Their summer camp is boring and I'd never recommend it to anyone. Save your money and send your kids somewhere else. read more

Be very weary of the principal. Here is our scary story: we pulled our kid (6th grader) out of a public school to give him a better education at a public school. So we think. Our so was a A and B student at the public school, which we were very proud of. His first semester was great with Ms. Manwell. His grades were still great. His attitude was very confident and enthusiastic. By the beginning of the second semester Ms. Manwell had moved on to a different school. It was then that our kids nightmare began. The principal seem to have a personal vendetta against him - a 10 year old. She made his and our life miserable. To the point she made us feel like our kid had issues requiring a therapist. We hired one. The therapist diagnoses was that our kid was absolutely normal for a 10 year old. That was not enough for the principal. Mind you is teacher also said he was kind and normal. The principal required us to hire professionals to provide and IEP (individualized educational Program). We did, it only after we pulled him from Egremont. Only because the principal wanted to be personally involved with the IEP. It was then we felt she had a personal vendetta with our 10 year old. After that nightmare, our kid is back in public school with great confidence and still great grades. Unbeknownst to us this horrible principal had already written derogatory comments in our sons records. Preventing him from joining another private school for now. How can there be evil people like this running schools. We now know how. She is the principal, HR and board member. We didn't know then, shame on us for not looking into this. How can the other members allow this? Our kid was previously accepted at Viewpoint and Chaminade. Now we have to wait a few years to prove himself worthy of these school. All because of a 2 month nightmare with this Egremont principal. read more

My child has gone to this school since Pre-k and we will not be returning for their final year as a fifth grader. Our experience last year with the fourth grade teacher was horrific. I contacted the principal to get to the bottom of this but with her lack of care it has led me to find my child another school. I tried everything so we didn't have to move schools but after her picking on my child continuously I don't feel comfortable anymore. I would recommend finding a new school before entering 4th grade with Mrs Frank. it might be different if the principal cared and she received consequences but nothing is ever done. read more

This is a fantastic school with exceptional teachers and an extremely dedicated administration. I've had one son go through here and is now at Chaminade MS achieving straight A's in honors classes. I currently have 3 children at Egremont. We researched the neighboring private schools and were most comfortable with Egremont, not only because of the academics and administration, but because of the other types of families that have their children attending. The community matters to us and being around other good parents that we were comfortable with meant something. read more

My son is about to start his sixth year at Egremont and my daughter is in PreSchool. I can't say enough about the level of teaching and personal attention that my kids have received at Egremont. Everyone is so caring and nurturing and it really does feel like a big extended family. Both my kids love going to school and don't want to leave at the end of the day. My wife and I have a sense of ease leaving our kids at Egremont each day knowing that they are in a safe, positive learning environment. read more

Honestly, I used to think very highly of this school. However, the school principal who by the way is the "principal," "CEO," "president of the school," and "HR" has completely changed as a leader and a human being. She has literally changed the entire character of the school by firing three loved and valued employees that had put in many years at the school and defined what the school was about. My child received a great education but now with the loss of employees and more to come I am not confident having any child return to that school in good faith. As parents, you can not voice any concerns as there is a "board" but if you try to reach any member, they simply don't exist. Through various encounters, I have witnessed many personal acts of discrimination which should never come from a principal who has that much power as to what is supposed to be a diverse private school. It truly is a shame that what was once a caring, nurturing, and highly academic school has single handily been ran to the ground by the school principal. read more

I have 3 kids at this school. The teachers are caring and provide individual attention and instruction to each child. The administration is attentive and has a good relationship with each child and their family The staff is exceptional. NOT A GREAT PLACE ANYMORE !!!. Every day this school falls back and fails to meet the expectations of many of us. Our last Christmas party few weeks ago showed how bad the social problems at the school is. The principal try to keep order but still the school is controlled by few parents without letting other kids get a chance of fair participation. Favoritism continues to be obvious and remains a big problem. We are taking our boy out of this school the minute we get a chance. My advise for prospective parents is to stay away and find a better environment for your children. Thank you. read more

My children have been attending this school since EK. Not until now have I had concerns, so I have began to look at other options. After visiting other schools, my children have a lot of catching up to do which scares me. Yes, there are some teachers that are passionate and care about their student's future, but they are in the lower grades under a principal who is caring, approachable, and is great at addressing all parent concerns. After what I have personally seen at the schools more recent open house and heard from other parents, it is clear that the students are not being challenged and have difficultly completing thier homework assignments. Also, I have noticed in the recent years, an extremely high teacher turnover and a lot of the teachers are uncredentialled. It is very difficult to make the decision to take your child out of a school they love and have friends at, but as a parent, I know it is my responsiblity to make sure they go somewhere they will learn the stuff the need for their future. I know no place is perfect (like some of the other comments have stated). Hopefully the adinistration will fix these problems otherwise we will be going to a new school next year. -Parent read more
