There are personal statements, short essays, 2 letters-if-rec (1 from current teacher & 1 from school principal), STAR test, transcripts, & interviews that are part of the entrance requirements process. In 2025, the middle school instituted an HONORS math placement testing option. The middle school does have honors algebra and geometry until the 8th grade. Mrs Mary Guerra is the head admissions person and she's absolutely amazing and wonderful. Mrs Lotta is also extremely helpful and resourceful. The head of the math department is Mrs Cheek. She's very strict, tough, & extremely helpful to students. Mrs. Sipping who teaches history and religion is both relatable & kind. It can be said that Chaminade isn't without bad teachers, as most schools will have plenty of those. Sports at Chaminade is a big thing because this is how the school and the students attract college & university scholarships. SJE school is one of the biggest feeder school to Chaminade. Just this year we sent 12 fifth graders & 4 eighth graders to Chaminade. So of course the students will know each other and hang out with each other. Chaminade middle school has an 8 House System, like Harry Potter, & this is where kids have a chance to make friends at all levels of the school. I can see and understand that if you start at the Chaminade high school level that it can be tough to adjust. However, if your kids start at the middle school, they will have adjusted and created a pattern of learning and achieving which will propel them in high school. I do recommend Chaminade without any reservations. There's so much to do here, starting at their middle school, that you can't even believe!!

Please don't send your kids, they will look back and hold you accountable for putting them in the situation! The relaxed learning system in this school is a huge disservice to any student. This school used to be a great learning environment and had great arts programs(up to 2017), now it's lost all that was once great about OCS!!! Obviously, the disgruntled are more likely to review a school on Yelp. My kid is happy to go to school everyday. He's thriving, learning reading, math, etc. I appreciate that he will be able to stay through middle school (TK-8). True the academics are not rigorous, but I don't believe young students should have copious amounts of HW. Students will be able to adapt to more rigorous academics when the time calls, starting at TK will just burn them out. They focus on socioemotional learning. We have met a lot of great families. The principal is excellent, diplomatic, curious, and competent.

One of the main ones being that our kid fell off the play structure and broke a bone. Instead of calling us, they actually picked our kid up and moved them to a nearby picnic bench. We couldn't believe it, but thankfully the injuries didn't increase because of this. As a new mom, I don't know what I would have done without Ms. Becky in the Panda room. She not only cared for my boys so well, but also answered all my silly "new mom" questions because she is so knowledgeable about what she does. As my kids have gown I have gotten to know so many more of the teachers because they truly live out their motto of being "in partnership with parents". I am amazed each day at what my 3 year old comes home having learned. He is starting to write his letters, counting to 30, improving his social skills, and most importantly, he knows that Jesus loves him dearly. As a teacher myself, it is important to me that my kids get an education that focuses on the whole child, and that is apparent at Monarch. When searching for preschools, I visited and toured over 10 different schools. I found Monarch to be head and shoulders above the others. Some things that stood out to me were... there is a very clear curriculum and learning goals for each day (even for my 1 year old), not only is there daily communication about how my child is doing, but also a more formal meeting twice a year to discuss present levels and goals to help them continue learning in the areas specific to their needs, teachers are constantly learning through staff development opportunities, and teachers not only teach Christian values, but they live them out each day in their classrooms. I love being part of the Monarch family and my kids look forward to going to school each day!

My students are high learners, high achievers and don't miss school straight A's. They know Spanish their givers their bright they listen they are wonderful children, but they did not get accepted. No, I'm not rich but education should be for all. It shouldn't be because you don't have millions of dollars that your child cannot be accepted. The school is a great I believe learning foundation for the children. Everyone seems to grow in prosper at the school and that's one of the reasons why I wanted my children to attend such a lovely prestigious school like Ciara, but I'm going to tell you if you are not rich, they will not accept your children. It's $150-175 application fee. If you wanna apply for financial aid is also extra $60 on top of that they will take your money but not accept you.

5 stars doesn't even begin to capture how special Oakridge has been for our family…read more We started our son at Oakridge when he was just 5 months old, and as an educator myself, choosing a daycare was incredibly difficult. I toured over 20 schools before making a decision because I wanted to feel completely confident and comfortable with where we would leave our baby. The moment I walked into Oakridge, I fell in love! And somehow with every day that has passed, I have only loved it more. Our experience in the infant room with Ms. Esperanza and Ms. Virginia was truly incredible. They helped me navigate becoming a first-time mom with so much patience, kindness, and reassurance. They loved our son so genuinely and were incredibly attentive to his every need. They partnered with me through his first 18 months -- from introducing solids to every new milestone, transition, and stage along the way. I will forever be grateful for the care they gave him and the confidence they gave me as a mom. When he transitioned to the toddler room with Ms. Genesis and Ms. Jennifer, they somehow made an already wonderful experience even better. They have fostered such a genuine love of learning in our son. He has learned his ABCs, numbers to 20, countless songs, and has brought home the sweetest projects and keepsakes. Most importantly, they have made him excited to go to school every single day. Watching his personality, confidence, curiosity, and love of learning grow has been one of the greatest gifts. I also have to give a huge shoutout to Sonja and Michelle, the beauties behind Oakridge. They are so responsive, present, and genuinely involved in the school and the children. They make every day feel fun and special, and their school events are some of the sweetest and most creative things we have experienced. From the little details to the big celebrations, it is so evident that this is not simply a business to them. This is their passion! The love and pride they have for Oakridge shines through in everything they do, and it creates such a warm and welcoming community for both the children and their families. Oakridge gave me something I never took for granted which was the ability to leave my son each day feeling completely comfortable, knowing he was safe, loved, learning, and genuinely cared for. As an educator, I am incredibly particular about the environments I trust, and Oakridge exceeded every expectation I had. I owe so much to these incredible women who pour so much love, patience, energy, and care into our children every single day. They have been such an important part of our son's early years and such a special part of our family's life. We are moving out of state, otherwise we would stay at Oakridge forever. I'm not sure we'll find something as special as Oakridge! If you are looking for a daycare or preschool, I truly cannot recommend Oakridge enough. It is a very special place, filled with very special people, and we will be forever grateful that our son got to grow and learn there.
