Volunteer opportunities are plentiful but never forced upon anyone; you can participate as little or as much as fits you. The community is welcoming and my kids are having a great time making friends and flourishing academically. Valley Charter is a hidden gem.

To be wholly honest, VCES did not make any kind of lasting impression on me. Sure, the people there…read morewere great, but the education in and of itself was nothing remarkable. Moreover, the homework when I attended was nothing short of substandard. One sheet of math homework was not enough to help me personally get ahead or study for any other subjects, as they had no respective homework. When I was admitted into middle school, the amount of homework put me into a kind of shock, as the homework at VCES had never been anything more than a sheet of paper and an hour of reading. In conclusion, if you want to enroll for a good education, I would not recommend this school in the slightest. However, if all you're signing your child up for is fun, then I would definitely recommend this school.

I enrolled my son when he was just 4 years old after having attended a toddler program at a private…read moreschool that I felt was more like really expensive daycare with minimal supervision. Realizing kindergarten was also just around the corner, I needed to find a school that was honest in their purpose of caring and teaching children. I met with Mrs. Margo, the kindergarten teacher and the director of their Early Childhood Development Program to tour and talk about the school. This was my first and only child and was worried of all the unknowns but went home that day knowing this was the school. Mrs Margo calmed my anxieties making me feel warm, welcomed and safe. Fast forward 9 years and a little sister, we're still here. We, as a family have gained so much words cannot explain. COL has given us not only a quality Christian education but also accountability. They are nurturing and patient with the children being the center of what they do. My children are now in 8th and 2nd grade, doing well in their subjects and love it here. Being a small school, everyone from administration to the teachers and parents are like extended family, everyone looks out for one another and our kids. Even the older students at the school share with the mentoring of the younger ones by reading and playing with them. I feel fortunate my children are able to attend the same school at the same time considering their grade difference; a unique experience they'll always remember. Thank you COL for everything. We have been truly blessed.

Heyo! I'm a freshman student who goes to this school at the moment. I don't usually write reviews,…read morebut I just felt the need to share how my high school life is going at the moment. This is going to be quite a long read, prepare yourself! ^_^ Well, it's a really awesome and great school with strong Christian values and studies but there's so so SO much room for improvement. For starters, it's quite understaffed and has a lack of teachers (ESPECIALLY for the 7th to 12th graders.) We basically spend our entire day doing Acellus (an online, video-based learning system) which gets pretty boring, due to the lack of any physical teaching. It almost gets too boring to the point in which you actually wish you had an actual teacher to teach you instead of sitting in front of a laptop the whole day. Boooooring! Speaking about the lack of teachers, there's also a big BIG lack of students from the 7th to 12th grade. Heck, there's not even a 12th grader here at the moment! XD Every morning for homeroom, we're all huddled up into one room with the students from the 7th to 11th grade......since there's only nine of us. Nine! Four middle schoolers and five high schoolers. There's no bullying, though :D The teaching could also be SO much better (if there were any actual, physical teachers lol). Only one teacher for Spanish (who really tries his best), one teacher for English, and one teacher for Bible study in the morning. The rest of the subjects (e.g., Math, Science, Social Studies) are all online (which is kind of a shame). Bible class is exceptional. Mr. Dempster is an optimistic teacher that involves the class and actually puts in effort for us to learn about the love and importance of our God, Jesus Christ. The principal (who is also our English teacher) is caring and understanding, actually trying to put the time and effort into teaching students. Leadership is alright. Every Friday we have chapel with two of each student from the Junior High - High School being assigned to kind of teach the elementary students about the care and love of Jesus Christ. Us Junior High/High school students have P.E. every day except for Monday. We're doing volleyball at the moment, and it's kind of a mess. We just... do some laps and get straight into the game. There's no actual warm-up or practice before we play. If you're looking for a sporty school, I'm sorry, but look elsewhere. The main problem I have with this school is that it does NOT advertise! I think it's what's dragging them down the most which makes me a little sad and angry just knowing what this school could become. I've been going to this school since 2019 and a LOT of stuff has changed since then. Overall, it's such an amazing school with SO MUCH POTENTIAL! I almost feel sorry to be honest... it was so so different about ten years ago; the complete opposite of what it is now. Students are okay, teachers are nice, classes are meh, and studies could be better. This is ONLY my opinion on my Junior High/High School experience. Understaffed and a lack of students. Wish there were more advertising and physical teaching. I conclude this review by giving this school a good three stars. Have a good day, yall!

The teachers (Mrs Irene, Ms Megan, Mrs Jennifer...), are exceptional--caring, patient, dedicated, and deeply committed to each child's growth and development. Our children have thrived here thanks to the incredible staff and the strong sense of community the school provides.
