This school for hands down the best of both worlds. Before we had kids my husband and I always intended to homeschool our children as we saw that as the best way to shepherd our children's hearts in the way of the Lord. As our first child approached her school years I lost my confidence. Feared my child would never learn to read much less add 2 and 2 together. A friend of mine introduced me to this school and it was like a godsend! Perfect for those who would like to homeschool their children but need a little help and accountability along the way! The teachers are loving and patient and they reinforce all the spiritual teachings that my children already get at home. In addition they also strive for academic excellence and I can rest assured that my children are getting a fantastic academic education as well! You cannot beat their student to teacher ratios! We love how the student body is broken into teams that integrate the entire student body so there is a built in support system for the younger kids to learn from their older schoolmates instead of being isolated only in their own grade/age group during recess and lunch. This school has exceeded all of our expectations. When we made the decision to move our kids from a local public school, we wondered if enrolling in a much smaller school and a hybrid program would be too much change for our kids, but we thought we'd give it a try and I'm so glad we did. All of our kids--all very different from one another--have absolutely thrived. The friendships that we have formed through NCS are deep and lifelong. It's a true blessing to be a part of a community that equally emphasizes academic rigor and faithful teaching of scripture. We wish we would have started this school sooner but so grateful we are apart of it now. This is our 2nd year and my son is flourishing not only in his education but his love for The Lord. I get to spend quality time with him on homeschool days and hand him off to the most loving teachers on school days. We had hoped to send our son to this school. We were very upfront that our son had special needs and described in detail what kinds of challenges he had. The director asked few questions. We offered that our son would attend with appropriate support to help him access the curriculum. Without ever meeting him, the director simply said, "the board said no." Then she asked, "did we do our due diligence?" For a Christian school, I'd say, "NO, you did not do your due diligence for our son, or Jesus, who came to earth for the "least of these." I'd have no problem with this school if they didn't claim Christ, but since they do, it's UNACCEPTABLE. BTW, God led us to a much more Christ-like school. Easy one star. I went to school here from kindergarten to first grade. I can confidently say this school left me psychologically damaged with an inadequate education. Most of the teachers I had during my time here didn't have a degree in their respective subject, and taught poorly due to this. Any "transgression" was publicly punished in front of most of the students which consistently exposed private information (health issues, family issues, etc.). My teachers were openly racist and used the Bible to justify giving students detention that they claim had "the look of the devil in there eyes". I'll always hate this place for the rest of my life. I'm just grateful I was able to recover and become a healthy human after I left. read more

This is the BEST of both worlds!!!! I did full time home school when my first child was in kinder to first grade. I was so lost and worried that I was not doing it right. I was just "winging" it, thinking, I can teach my child to do numbers and alphabets. Then my second child came and I knew I was not going to be able to home school both. I was so glad that a friend of mine told me about NCS. I was so relieved!!! We spent a year there, and loved it! The year after, we had a opportunity to enroll them in a full time private school, but I did not get the chance to be as in involve in their education as I wanted to. They were bombarded with home works after spending 8 hours in school. We had no family time, I was not happy. So....We came back to NCS! I knew I wanted to be involve in my children's education. This is a place where you can do both home school and have full time school together. You are hands-on in your child's education 2 days a week and also come in and help the teachers about 6 times per year. On Monday and Thursdays are our home school days and on the other 3 days they are at school. The teachers are AMAZING! They are very good at what they do! My kids love them! They are both top notch in education as they are in my children's spiritual care. I love it and wished it was until high school.....This has been the best school, a hidden jem in the valley!!! read more

NCS offers a family, a community and a school with high academic standards and Godly character. With 20 years of experience, this is a school that is loving and nuturing to the students and their families. The parents, teachers and staff care about the spiritual gowth as well as the academic growth of each child. It is truly the best of both worlds with three days of on campus instruction and two days of at home instruction. When my children are away from home I am confident that they are being taught and led by people who are following Christ and uphold the same standard that I have set at home. My children get to have the "classroom experience" that home school alone does not provide. They have the opportunity to be social with their peers, be mentored by older students, participate in the fun of field trips, school spirit days, classroom parties and other special events that are most enjoyed in a group. The high parental involvement of this community allows me to be actively involved in my child's education and participate in the school decisions. I have found the other parents at the shcool to be a tremendous resource as I look to those who have already gone through what is ahead of me and to walk along side those who are at the same stage of child rearing and encourage one another. This school has truly helped me in all aspects of my life. My character, moral standards, faith, academics, faith , there no words that describe the school fully. I know it sounds...whatever you want to call it but IT IS TRULY what I say. God is good. THis school is good. God is definitely using this school. I just recently graduated. How I wish I could spend another decade here. My kids are for sure coming here. THis school has shaped a humongous part of personality which will stick with me forever. Yes, there are many other different so called Christian schools out their. The difference you may ask is the community of students, parents, and teachers having fellowship together in what is best and having moral innocence for the kids and most of all being in unity under God. And I can say with a clear conscience that none of the people are taking drugs or alchohol or is smoking or participating in any other activities in that area. My daughter has been at this school for 8 years and she loves it! She was shy when she came, so small classes and personal attention were great for her. She has lots of friends in different grades because everyone plays together and character issues are addressed by the loving staff. The teachers and staff come alongside the parents to help with any learning or character issues the students may have, Because the claseses are small, usually a couple grades are combined. This has sometimes been challenging working at a level higher than the student's grade. However, the following year is sometimes much easier when the student gets to do work a little below their actual grade level. This school also trains the children in leadership and team work. The children are divided into teams which are responsible for various jobs that need to be done around a small school; i.e., emptying trash, wiping down lunch tables, sweeping. The team leaders also act as mentors and are encouraged to relate in this way to the younger students. Overall, we have been very pleased with this school. We know our daughter is in a safe, nurturing environment where she is being trained not only academically, but spiritually and socially as well. It is a school where your opinions and suggestions are taken to heart, and you have an opportunity to influence decisions that are being made. It is truly a wonderful community - a family! read more
