There is no phone number for the service allows you to speak, person-to-person, with a human being. That being said, the extra star is there because they might be alright at therapy. They just come off as greedy and cold before you get in the door. P.S. The aforementioned "door" is metaphorical as they are still Tele-health only. At this juncture in the pandemic, it just seems impersonal.

If you're looking for a dangerous, negligent psychiatric practice, look no further than Elevate…read morePsychiatry. My experience here has been filled with administrative incompetence, medical negligence, and a blatant disregard for patient care. This practice appears to prioritize profits over patient well-being, leaving itself wide open to legal liability. The issues began immediately with billing errors. I was repeatedly overcharged for visits due to misinformation about my co-pay, which required me to fight for refunds. While frustrating, this was just the beginning compared to the negligence in my psychiatric care. Dr. Sused Hidalgo prescribed a medication for my diagnosis, but when my insurance didn't cover it, the pharmacy suggested an alternative. She issued a new prescription within minutes--without reviewing my chart or evaluating if it was appropriate for my condition. When I raised concerns, I found out Elevate had never even obtained my medical records from my previous psychiatrist. Despite completing a HIPAA form and requesting the transfer myself, they failed to follow through. Dr. Hidalgo prescribed medication without access to my medical history, and when I pointed this out, she dismissed my concerns, stating we could "discuss it during the next visit." There was no accountability or acknowledgment of the potential harm caused by this negligence. In search of better care, I was assigned to Dr. Dolores ("Doly"). Her approach was even worse. Despite providing her with genetic testing results showing which medications would likely work for me, she dismissed them as mere "suggestions." When I reported severe side effects from her prescribed medications--worsening anxiety, sedation, and erratic behavior--she refused to adjust the treatment plan. Dr. Doly also made bizarre and offensive comments, such as: "Depressed people don't wear makeup. I recommend some women wear makeup to feel better." "I don't believe in bipolar II. Depression is just a side effect of bipolar, and I think you're bipolar I." Her assessments were conducted entirely via Telehealth, which is not permitted for diagnosing and treating complex conditions like bipolar disorder. This is unethical and a violation of medical guidelines. On July 12, I sent a detailed email to the owner, Mr. Bhatia, outlining these issues. Despite following up with voicemails, I never received a response. My last appointment was on October 31, and as of December 10, no one from the practice has reached out. This lack of follow-up makes it clear they only care about money, not their patients' health. Elevate Psychiatry's negligence includes: * Medical malpractice: Prescribing medications without proper evaluation or access to my medical records. * HIPAA violations: Failing to request or obtain my previous medical documentation. * Insurance fraud: Overcharging me despite confirmed coverage. * Negligent Telehealth practices: Diagnosing and treating complex conditions remotely without required in-person evaluations. This practice is not just incompetent, but dangerous. If you value your health, avoid Elevate Psychiatry. I have documented proof of every interaction to support my claims. I feel so strongly about advising others to avoid this practice that I have written multiple reviews across platforms, filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and made two separate reports to the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and HIPAA. I want to be very clear that this is not slander, libel, harassment, or defamation. This is my honest experience, and my only intention in sharing it is to warn others and hope that Elevate Psychiatry will make serious changes to avoid causing harm to more patients.

I have no words to express how greatful I am to have found Dr Alfaro and her team(Specially Trina)…read more A very close family member has suffered from depression and anxiety for many years and together we have being looking for help without success. I'm writing this review on her behalf to maintain her privacy. She visited as many as four psychiatrist , neurologist, psychologist, etc. all in search for a cure or at least some kind of improvement in her quality of life. She tried SSRIs, vitamins, and psychotherapy without much success. After much research we stumbled into an video regarding TMS, which gave her hope. TMS is new and there are not many providers in the area of Broward, so after some research she ended up at the office of Dr Alfaro in Sunset , Miami. TMS is a blessing, the process takes six weeks, but it's worth it. She went from not enjoying life and not being able to read or concentrate to now being more positive and definitely happier. I would say she is went from 1 to 9 in a scale of 1 to 10. The road to complete mental health is complex. For us TMS was an amazing tool to a better life. I highly recommend. I also recommend that you combine it with psychotherapy , better nutrition and lots of kindness to the person going through this. I hope the person reading this finds help through either Dr Alfaro or any source. Mental illness is real and the world needs to be more aware and kind. There are many resources online and many videos regarding TMS. Special note, I chose Dr Alfaro because she is a neurologist and she has psychiatrist and psychologist as part of her staff. I found another TMS place in Broward , same machine , but I didn't feel the care given by Dr Alfaro during our first meeting. We also paid cash and her fees were affordable , compared to the fees quoted to me by other places in Fort Lauderdale. Check your insurance , some insurances cover it. Best wishes to all.

I would give this practice zero stars if I could…read more My daughter is a patient at Sunset Neurological & Psychiatry Group and was experiencing a reaction to her medication. So much so that she could not drive herself home from school. I picked her up and told her she needed to let her doctor know ASAP. My daugther called and was told someone would call her back. When they finally did, instead of showing concern about my daughter's reaction, the conversation quickly became about demanding payment. As a former OB/GYN nurse, I have personally worked in many medical practice where patients called with concerns about adverse reactions to medications. We would never make a patient feel like they had to pay simply to have their provider address a medication reaction. I understand that medical practices have fees and policies, but there is a huge difference between having a billing policy and treating a concerned parent like an inconvenience. The worst part, however, was Christina Alfaro, NP. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, condescending, and completely lacking in compassion. At one point, she actually told me: "The problem here is that you and your daughter do not communicate." Excuse me? My daughter was experiencing a reaction to medication, and THAT was the response I received from her healthcare provider? That statement was completely unnecessary and incredibly unprofessional. If you work in healthcare, you should know how to communicate with patients and their families without talking down to them or blaming them. And yes, I did call Ms. Alfaro an asshole. I was angry and frustrated after being spoken to in such a disrespectful and condescending manner. I shouldn't have used those words, but I also shouldn't have had to defend myself as a parent simply for advocating for my daughter. Bedside manner matters. Compassion matters. Communication matters. Being a healthcare provider is not just about writing prescriptions and collecting payment. Patients are human beings, and when they're experiencing a medication reaction, they deserve to be treated with concern and respect. Unfortunately, that is not the experience we had here. I would never recommend Christina Alfaro, NP, and I would not recommend this practice. There are far too many healthcare providers who understand that patients deserve both competent medical care and basic human decency.
