Be careful if you drop off things to sell. I dropped off several items and actually wrote them down. Went back before the expiration date to see what sold and was told they had nothing for me. I then went through the entire store to find 2 specific things (very nice) and they were not there! These were two items that a gentleman waiting when I dropped off asked "Can I see those? How much?" Now the store is saying they can't do anything as they have thousands of consignments. read more

The man who works there was super rude and would not look at my clothes because they weren't ... already on hangers and freshly pressed? Never heard of a consignment shop with those requirements in my life. I went next door to the woman's shop instead where they were nice and professional and gladly took 4 of my pieces. I have been looking for a quality men's consignment shop in NJ forever and was thrilled to find this hidden gem that has been hiding right under my nose at the Jersey Shore. Amazing selection of designer brand names for EVERYTHING - jeans, dress shirts, suits, sportswear, seasonal gear, coats, sport jackets, sneakers, dress shoes, boots, leather wear. Amazing prices and deals. Scored 2 mint condition higher-end Banana Republic overcoats for $50, Zegna dress pants for $20, North Face hats and gloves for $10 and the list goes on. First, the owners are some of the greatest store owners I've ever come across in my life. I would never go to another consignment shop after how friendly and respectful they are to their customers. Huge selection of clothes for any style. I think there best selection is there suit/blazer jackets, as well as there dress shirts. The women's prices are great next store and I thought this shop was a part of it. I found out after they are not and you can tell there is a major difference! after dealing with the man in the men's consignment shop we Won't be back. I asked about a jacket saying "Is there something special about this jacket? I was wondering why it's $60 when the fur coat next to it is $14" I thought maybe it's reversible or zero degrees or waterproof so wanted to know the benefit before buying a used jacket and the man took it out of my hands zipped it up and walked away from me saying "new this would be $120" we went specifically there to buy the jacket but my husband said "they just lost a customer he was talking about you out here" Not a way to treat a customer! read more

My son called from college and needed suits for business classes and meet and greets. We went to Men's Consignment. What a great store. They had so many suits for my son, we had trouble choosing just one. So we bought three. Great prices too. Best of all, the sales associates were helpful and knowledgeable. I went here a few months as a long shot for a blazer for my boyfriend. We left there with dress shoes, khakis, a button up, a tie, and a blazer, and a few other items. I wouldn't have been able to pick it out on my own. The young and older gentlemen are very helpful. I went back yesterday for a blazer and I wasn't quite sure about what matches, and they helped me yet again. It's like going to a personal shopper . I stopped by the Men's Consignment Shop and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of inventory. The store was clean, organized and the employees were very helpful. I used to be a big supporter of Squan Dry Goods until I tried donating to them. The women's store is nicely put together, but this review is strictly a reflection of how I was treated while trying to donate at the men's store and after my experience I don't care to go back. When I first walked in the door I was greeted very unpleasantly because the owner could see I had a bag for donation. Then he continued to tell me that because I was a new customer he would allow me to donate, like he was doing me a favor. My first thought was, if you aren't accepting donations then put a sign on the door so I don't waste my time or yours. As he went through the bag he kept making me feel as if he was doing me a favor by looking at the clothing. He then said he could not accept most of the items because they were not pressed. I have donated for many years at Back to the Racks in Long Branch and have never once had a problem because the items weren't "pressed". In fact I donated to them yesterday 3 large bags and didn't have a problem with one item. Anything they don't want to use (which you can choose to not use this option) they donate themselves, which is wonderful and so nice of them. The only reason I did not donate this particular bag today to them is because Back to the Racks doesn't have a men's store. They do however have a childrens store and a home decor store which are extremely well priced and clean. Another store that I've donated to and never given me a problem for items not being "pressed" is Green Beans in Belmar. In fact every time I'm in there I see a worker steaming clothing items to be put out for sale. The only reason I started going to Squan Dry Goods was my change of location and the well put together aspect of the women's store. I will drive the extra 20 min to Long Branch and I suggest anyone reading this does as well to shop and donate. They keep track of the items you sell extremely well. They are kind and accommodating and far from how I was treated at this store. read more
