I wish we had one closer in Dayton, but this is conveniently located near my kids pediatricians office so we stoped after a doctor's appointment. It was clean and well-maintained. We had a tasty bowl of yogurt at Menchies. There wasn't an extensive choice of flavors but we found some we liked. The dining area was clean and comfortable. Service was quick and efficient. They have a program to get free yogurt after a certain number of ounces purchased. A lot of other yogurt places in this area have closed so we'll be going here from now on when we're hungry for yogurt. read more

Delicious! This is my boys' favorite dessert options for sure. They love being able to pick their own combos if froyo and toppings! They have a larger selection of candy toppings than other similar places along with syrups, fruit, cookies and brownies. They had 14 different flavors of yogurt, from chocolate and vanilla to fruity flavors and featured flavors that change. The only reason they get a 4 instead of a 5 star is the price. If you aren't careful, your children will fill their bowl and at $0.59 an oz it adds up unbelievably fast!!! read more

This particular location has great nostalgia for me because it is where I met my boyfriend and where our first date was a super long time ago. This location is very spacious compared to other Menchie's locations that I have been to and has plenty of seating. They have chalk and board games that you can play with while you are eating your ice cream and it has a lot of fun child-like energy here. You pick up your cup near where the dispensers are and you choose what flavor you want and how much of it. They also rotate flavors depending on the season, but always have classic flavors like chocolate, vanilla, etc. Once you have your ice cream, you choose your toppings and they have a wide variety of toppings including some that you don't see at every ice cream shop like the frosted animal crackers. They have candies, sprinkles, chocolates as well as fruits, fresh whipped cream and a bunch of sauces you can put on top. You then move over to the register where they will weigh your ice cream and they will charge you based on how many ounces you have. The prices are very reasonable and this is a super cute place to come with friends or family so everyone can make their own ice cream. I will definitely continue coming back here. read more

I was curious after I spotted a neon pink sign called Menchie's. As I peered nonchalantly through the glass, I noticed the silver machinery containing frozen yogurt awaiting to be served to potential customers seeking a cold, low-fat, flavorful dessert. Of course, they can pick toppings to their heart's desire! It looked too delicious to pass, so I went in. Like the wonderful sign that looked so welcoming, a smiling, bubbly employee greeted me with excitement, offering me to help myself to the self-serve yogurt samples in teeny-tiny white paper cups. Sounded like great time to me, so I tried the original tart, vanilla, butterscotch, and cheesecake. I selected the original tart and vanilla because it was a "keep-it-simple" type of day for me. Clear bins featured a wide variety of toppings: fresh cut fruit, candy pieces, cheesecake bites, and pink mochi bits. I, being the healthy eater although it's cold outside, decided on the strawberries, kiwi, pink mochi, and two cheescake bites. All of this amounted to less than $3, which was quite a pleasant surprise. Also, the store features clean, brightly lit and colorful walls and tables; it's quite a happy, fun setting to enjoy your frozen yogurt! Their service is VERY friendly and helpful to new customers. Its pretty clear that this whole self serve frozen yogurt trend is here to stay for a while. With that being said there are a ton of different places doing the exact same thing...that was what I thought until I stopped in to Menchie's. This place is different and that is a good thing! Of course the frozen yogurt itself was pretty consistent with the other places, but the toppings here are great. TONS of things to choose from and they also have hot toppings (hot fudge, caramel, etc) something that is lacking from others (Orange Leaf). Overall my experience was great, and the workers here were really fun and energetic. I will be back! read more

Stopped in here while waiting for my husband. The staff was super friendly and helpful. My son loved trying all the flavors. In fact, he got so full on the little trial cups that he practically let me eat our entire cup of frozen yogurt, which I'm definitely not complaining about :) The store was clean and the toppings bar was fresh and tidy. My only complaint is that, well, I didn't like many of the flavors. Made me wish for Yogurtland back in LA...don't know if there are any Yogurtlands in Cinci. I don't know, something just wan't quite right about each of them...though take that opinion with a grain of thought. Since I'm pregnant, I've noticed my tastebuds are definitely out of wack. I should probably try back when not pregnant ;) We did though really enjoy the Mud Pie flavor that we ended up getting. read more

I had come to Menchie's numerous times with my children. It's not the cheapest place to have ice cream, by far, as ice cream with toppings for the three of use averages about $12.00 but I paid it because I liked the toppings and yogurt flavors. I even bought my kids the Menchie's plush Cow and plush Ice Cream Cone character. The last time I went in, I instantly felt some hostility from the 20something cashiers, and felt it was directed at my children as they were excited about getting ice cream and being a little loud, nothing crazy, and I could see the cashier rolling her eyes, getting irritated, as her voice was sharp and short and she certainly wasn't friendly. Myself, my 5-year-old, and my 2 year-old sat down at a table and starting eating our yogurt. My 5 year-old was eating her ice cream, yelling "brain freeze" every few minutes. We were the only ones in the store and I could see the cashier flashing angry looks our way. At one point, I got a phone call from my daughter's doctor, and needed to answer. I was on the phone approx. 1 min. 30 sec before I looked up to the cashier glaring at me, loudly stated, "she's going to have to pay for those!" I saw my 5 year-old had scooped a spoonful of tiny M&M's onto her ice cream (which already had some M&Ms and had cost me about $4.00). Look, I am all for discipline and I am not a mother who lets my children run wild in any sense of the word; however, I believe 5 year-olds make mistake and should be disciplined by their parents, not shamed or humiliated by some girl who hates her job and hates children. When she said this, I yelled to my daughter because I was going to call her over to me to discipline her. The cashier took the full cup from me (mind you I had already paid for this) and attempted to weigh it and make me pay for the whole thing again. By this point, my 5 year-old is in hysterics, screaming, "I'm so so sorry Mommy" (yes she shouldn't have done that; no she is not a bad kid) but I couldn't go to her to comfort her because the cashier wasn't letting me turn away without repaying. So I told her I already paid for that so she gets a whole other cup (such as waste as I ended up paying for a cup I didn't need and she wasted a perfectly good cup) and stood there as I scooped out the spoonful of tiny M&Ms in there (again, this was difficult because she already had M&Ms in there) and she reweighs the cup and makes me pay $1.07 (uncertain how much the cup costs of that). My daughter is still hysterical and the whole thing is a nightmare so everyone's ice cream is ruined and mostly gets thrown away. She said, "it's our policy." Of course your policy should be that people pay for what they take but is it also to embarrass a little girl and show no compassion? Put less than $1 worth of tiny M&Ms before your clients, making your only concern monetary gain? Yes, my daughter was wrong but the customer service here is horrific. I will NEVER return, so, for approx. $1 I will not be paying $12 or so a week when we come in ever again. The crazy thing there is that the atmosphere promotes trying free samples, with tiny cups put out so you can try the various types of yogurt. I don't expect that they give us free anything, but there were so many other ways that she could've handled that. She was outright mean to me and my daughter. She could've said something to her that was kind instead of being rude to her. I got home and called Corporate and left a message about what happened. I was told that I'd get a call the next day and never did. I want NOTHING from these people; just want to inform others that if your child sees a vibrant row of many different candies and such, and suddenly grabs one, that they will drop everything, yell across the store that you need to pay for it, take your already purchased yogurt and attempt to re-charge you for it, and, if your child is struggling, crying, upset, they will stand there starting at you like you are a thief until you pay it before you can even go comfort your child. The sad thing is that I do like the yogurt but not worth the energy. It comes down to customer service and their customer service is horrific. I served tables for many years and couldn't imagine treating a mother and her two children that way, and then just brushing it off and nonchalantly stating, "that's our policy." I could go on and on but I won't. There's no point. Just don't go here and don't bring your kids here, unless they've changed staff since then. However, still don't like the fact that customer service couldn't even return the call. Shows how little they appreciate their customers. read more

Menchie's is a really fun place. My daughter makes me go nearly every Friday night. They have a great assortment of flavors. We like that we get to make our own Froyo. You get to add your own toppings. There are a few places in town that make it for you (boo!) It is a little expensive (when you add a pound of Reese's Cups and hot fudge), but it is a nice treat. Not impressed. This is the second time we've come in the evening to find very few flavors actually available and missing toppings (no chocolate shell or brownies). There was yogurt all over the floor in front of the machines. My son had to use the restroom and the lights were burned out. My family and I LOVE this place! friendly staff, delicious yogurt, and self serve. Our favorite flavor is cake batter but the best part is they give you tiny cups and you can taste every flavor for free! They have a ton of topping options and about seven or so syrup toppings. Visited Menchie's to celebrate my granddaughter"s first day of preschool with a total of 9 family members. The yogurt was good and the service was good until I asked for a drink of water for my 4 yr. old granddaughter. I was told they did not give water to drink that way and I would need to buy a bottle of water, which I did. I explained to the employee that other places similar to Menchie's had complimentary glasses of water and she explained to me that they tried that and it cost them a lot of money. Not sure about this. It's not the dollar spent for the bottle of water but maybe just a lack consideration for the thirsty customer. read more
