Lately I've been buying my garden supplies. I also get a variety of tools. Customer service is very good. The cashier is always helpful. They often if not always ask did you find everything okay. I'm a huge fan of Menards. I always find what I need and more here. The prices seem to be fair especially when you take the time to fill out the rebate form for a credit. I rarely need assistance and didn't require any at this location so I can't comment. I will say the cashier wasn't as friendly as the one close to my house but it is what it is. Huge selection so if I can't find it at my location, I'm guaranteed to find it here (I also check online first). read more

This store is close to my home and I visit for home needs often. You can get anything you need for the home here from new construction to remodeling to decorating and even cleaning and upkeep. They have the best selection of light fixtures from any of the big box stores. They also have a great outdoor and seasonal furniture selection (patio, bbq, christmas, etc.). Prices are very reasonable and they have a nice return policy for those times you don't know which fixture you need and have to return. Employees are usually available for help and usually are helpful. I don't love the checkout system used here, I find it annoying and a bit awkward, but I guess you can't have it all. Also they always run rebates. These are not easy to redeem as you must mail data in, even if you fill it out online already and more than once I never received my rebate in the mail. read more

This is a late review (several months ago)but I remember experience well enough to not want to go back if I had a choice. This is a massive store and probably has everything or anything you'd ever need....i got turned around by the windows/doors & felt that I should have left a trail of breadcrumbs to find my way out. Very few shoppers the day I was there, and I probably spent about 2 hours there....didn't see anything that I would be able to get anywhere else for a lower price. As I was shopping, I didn't see a single employee until the check-out area. I wanted to ask Q's about windows/doors and I looked & looked....up & down, here & there....no help whatsoever. lol @ checkout(bc I got some sugar free gummi worms for sustenance) checker: "did you find everything you need?" Yup, sure did, found it, but no help w it so here's your $1.50 for my bag of candy and 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. Maybe it's just a mid-western thing that everybody raves about this place, and their oh-so-generous 10% off days....I'd rather go to Home Depot bc at least there's help when you need. Great products but the employees have no clue. They had to get a manger to figure out a price on an item that had a sticker. Then the manger agreed that the item was not priced correctly but did not fix it or offer a solution. I felt that because I was a woman he tried to speak to me as if I didn't understand. This Menards seems bigger than the one closer to me near Maplewood, maybe it's just better organized. Employees are helpful, though not as plentiful as I'd expect. Amazing inventory, more than the usual big box. The only downside is the garden center. Not nearly as good as most any Lowes or Home Depot. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Menards but I stopped at this location on my way to work to pick up a few things on my work list. The store is clean and well organized and they had everything I needed. Some frozen pizzas I normally purchase for work were on sale 5 for $10. They are normally $3-$3.50 each so this was a nice little bonus. I'd return for small things. read more

This place has everything! I went on for some air filters and thought it would take me forever to find them. As soon as I walked I found an employee and he pointed me on the right direction. Then I went over to the Christmas section and 2 other employees asked if I needed help. Customer service here is outstanding! Excellent customer service. While shopping my prescription sunglasses fell out of my purse. Of course, I didn't realize I had lost them until I got into my car. First I checked at the front desk no luck. They asked for my name and phone number. We retraced our steps, not an easy task in a store of that size. No luck. So, I decided to give the St Ann MO store a try tonight. My first time ever in a Menards. Lots of selection. I just updated my utility room and wanted to buy new inexpensive laundry baskets. I found what seemed a decent deal: plastic laundry baskets for the advertised price of $3.27 each. So, I decided to get four of them. I took my purchase to check-out. One checker and six or seven people deep. After approximately a ten minute wait to check out, the lady rang the purchase up, and told me it was $25! "How?" I asked. She said they are $5.99 each. I explained the price tag. So, she had to call someone in "laundry". Finally the guy comes. Then she tells me, "I'll need to suspend the sale, so I can wait on other people". I was really angry at this point. So, I just walked out. First shopping experience in Menards: zero. And it's the last shopping experience in Menards. What a mess of a store. Just like the old days when stores "accidentally" forgot to program their computers with the correct price. I bet the Missouri Attorney General will like my letter. read more

I am wondering if I made the BIG mistake of purchasing furniture for delivery from Menards. I was scheduled for delivery today and was never contacted even though they said they would call ahead of time. I called the store and received an ANSWERING MACHINE. In today's world or technology I never would have expected an answering machine. Menards was always first on my list of "go-to" stores but after my latest effort to purchase a rug there, it will be last. Inventory checking on their app was wrong after driving many miles to get to a store they did not have the product and would not call the next nearest store to check their inventory. They gave me the number and told me to call if I wanted to. I called that store and the department manager told me they had three of the product in stock. I drove to that store only to find that they did not have rug! They offered to sell me the damaged floor sample and I refused. The store manager was completely unhelpful! I drove to a third store and finally found the product. Menards will be my last resort from now on and I will never patronize the St. Ann store again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS. Our kitchen has been torn up for months waiting on a section of countertop that's been messed up THREE TIMES due to Menard's employee mistakes. We were told two weeks ago that the final corrected piece is on order - a process which takes several weeks to complete. We called today check on it and were told that it hasn't even been ordered yet because there's some internal confusion on the cost involved with fixing their mistakes. WHAT??? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! We've done our part all the way along - everything exactly as directed - and yet here we are with an unfinished kitchen and who knows how many weeks (months?) ahead before this is resolved. We have no words for the level of incompetence we are experiencing. It's absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. read more

I ordered a refrigerator from Menard's on 06/15 and received an estimated delivery date of 07/15. I accepted this long lead time because I wanted that particular refrigerator. On 07/25, I called the store and was informed the order was still pending at the vendor, and they would call me back with a status in 20 minutes. It is now more than one hour later, and I have not received a phone call. Over the years, I have purchased appliances at Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot, and have not ever experienced something like this. At this point, I want a full refund, so I can purchase a refrigerator somewhere else. Update 7/27: I wish I could give them less than one star. I called the vendor myself today, and was told no one from Menard's ever contacted them. The vendor said it was Menard's responsibility as the seller to follow up on this order, and the customer should not have to deal with this. Update: After sending an email to Customer Service, I finally got a response. "Thank you for your email. I am very sorry for your recent experience with the St. Ann Menards store! I have sent a cancellation request to our vendor for your order. As soon as I have more information, I would be happy to contact you back. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions." I will let you know how long it will take until they "have more information" and when I get a refund. Since, Menards has No Credibility, I will be following up with the Vendor. read more

Even though their system showed they had plenty of inventory, they told us it was "too hard" to find items in their warehouse and sent us to another store 20 mins away. Talked to the manager to see if they could have someone go pull the items for us, and she said the employees did the right thing by sending us to the other store. 12-8-15 Update: These people are so slow! There were three lanes open and the cashier took over five minutes to check-out a single customer. Original Review: I've been shopping at Menards ever since the St Peters location had opened, but after my experience today at the St Ann location I'm not sure I want to go back. After checking out, I tied my bag and made my way through the store towards the entrance (it's crazy hot outside and that was the side I parked on). As I was walking out the door, a Menards employee demanded to see a receipt. She realized I wasn't going to stop and instructed another employee "follow him I think he stealing". Very upset in the business that Menards supplied today. My fiancé called in to ask about some zero gravity chairs. After waiting on hold for well over a half hour a sales rep literally explained to her that he would track the items down so we wouldn't waste the trip there. The sales rep finally came back to the phone and said the items were indeed there and we could purchase them over the phone. We drove over a half hour to the location to pick them up. The issues gets worse when even the staff didn't help much. The greeter didn't seem to clearly say masks were needed to be in so I had to wait in the car while my fiancé had to have employees carry the item for her. None of the employees would offer any assistance to carry the item. What's EVEN worse is that the items weren't even there in the end!!! Why tell us over the phone that they are there and we could provide the credit info over the phone. As I'm a previous Menards employee, I know that customer service comes first when a guest comes in and all phone conversations are recorded. Very very upset in how that Menards is ran. You can bet I won't shop there any more and if my credit isn't applied to my account it looks like a phone call will be given to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Menards is one of my go to "Adult Playgrounds." They'll definitely have everything for your home renovations and so much more. I'll pick up a few cleaning products, tools, and pantry items every once in a while. I haven't personally bought many of their tools and things but have/do use them with family I regularly help with their home and yard renovations. The tools whether major or small have all worked great and I personally adore using the tillers,mowers and large barrel charcoal BBQ pit. It's worth a look around even if you aren't a home owner they also carry many staple items for the home, personal care and have a small toy section for the kids. My next visit is to return paint I over bought and get a couple of wood and hunting knives. The staff have always seemed friendly or just going about their day and I've been there A LOT over the past year and a half. The removal of a star was for two reasons. 1. A lot of the pantry items set out are extremely dusty like "When did these bottles of hot sauce and olive oil beat up a bags of flour?"levels of dusty at times. Be warned the next one is a gross. 2. Sometimes when fantasizing about my future house I look around at and in everything that you'd fine in a home including toilets of course and on more than one occasion I have lifted the seats of display toilets to have thoroughly dry,sticky looking, urine staring up at me. Did you know old dry urine starts smelling fishy?? I certainly didn't until now. Despite the urine bit,the store is always clean as are the bathrooms when I've visited. Don't be discouraged by it just maybe take caution when looking at the display toilets just in case the Mad Pisser strikes again. read more

This place has huge variety of most thing having to do w a house. Cleaning supplies, food, concrete, brooms, tv mounts, toys, work clothes, lumber, docks (if you have house on a lake), and anything else a normal hardware store would have. If your a contractor Tim and Ray do a good job at the lumber counter taking orders. They have helped me with several projects and go the extra mile. read more

This store has been out of the pleated HVAC filters in the brand and size I use for two months. I went back today and they are still out. I tracked down an employee and he told me they're out and that it's a popular size. I asked him if perhaps the inventory system thought they were in-stock and that's why they've been out. He then lectured me on how the POS system worked and how that was not possible. I eventually found another employee who has helped me many times before. She checked the inventory system and it showed there were 54 in stock. She then corrected the system. Hopefully, they will finally have this filter back in stock on my next visit. read more

First and last time visiting. Needed a v belt for an attic fan. It took over half and hour and 9 different employees just to show me where they would be only to find out they don't carry the one needed (which is a standard belt, nothing special). Ordered 2 humidifiers online got the email to pick them up when I got this the store I changed my mind and decided I only needed 1 so I was told at the pickup in store area to go to front desk for a refund on the other 1 got so I took papers up to desk and I was told this shows this was a special order which means a 25 % restocking fee when I ordered it online no were did it say that. The manager Kevin was rude and insisted I should have know it was a special order.I will never order anything from this store again. read more

The first one that asked me actually took me over to another part of the store to show me where the item I was looking for was located. Customer service is non-existent @ Menard's - don't bother with their landscape blocking as most are not firsts. Oh, don't call their corporate offices as no one is allowed to speak to you in CustomerSvc - ALL comms has to be done via US mail. Really! this is 2018, not 1960! - First, encounter was with person in guard's box to the yard pulled in, no response finally they came to the window stretching and yawning, guess we woke her up! Asked question one word answer "front door" continued to yawn and stretch. We apologized for waking her. Went to landscape blocks needed six 16'x16" they are HEAVY. Blocks were not consistent in size and many were badly chipped. Needed to be sorted through to find "decent" condition for our project. Could find no help to assist-FINALLY saw someone asked for help and he said standing in the block aisle "with what"? With what? Blocks, duh, since we are standing in the aisle right next to them. Told us he would page someone to help "not his job" - no one ever showed. We abandoned the merchandise and left. Tried to reach manager via phone it is a rigorous exercise to FINALLY get extension for on-site manager. The phone rang 50-60 times before answering - hope they are not paying him more than a clerk's salary he was useless. Bottom line--- DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT MENARD'S read more
