I use to love Menards until today. First time having an order delivery. I was held hostage all day waiting for my order. I was given a window time of 8- noon over the phone last night. Then I received an email saying 8-1. They showed up at 1:15. I just got out of the hospital and needed my son to assist me at medical appointments. I called them twice during the day to just be told they are out for delivery. When the driver finally showed up he tells me was to be here early but his equipment got stuck in the mud. Extremely poor customer service. That information soul's be relayed to the customer. My son could have provided assistance to me at my medical appointments instead of waiting around from 8-1. The managers could have cared less. They just lost a long time customer who just spent almost 3k on this order. read more

This Menards is a joke, we came from Algonac to purchase Nuway Black Rubber Mulch, we called other Menards"Warren" and they said that Port Huron had 124-Bags in inventory, we get there and proceed to garden area and there was "o" in stock. We then proceed to customer and the customer service person said , they did a inventory the day before and they had 124-bags on hand. They are giving a 15% rebate on sales. They have no clue of the word "Service" and could care less. The reason why l gave 1-star is because of the women at Warren location, to at least check to see where, stock inventory was supposed to be, also, Mennards does not honor "Veteran's" with discounts. Back to Home Depot, what were we thinking to want to save money, not worth the aggravation. read more

Menards management needs to teach the staff about customer service. Ask one of their employees where something is located and all you'll receive as a response is "Over there" and a finger pointing you which direction to go. I don't expect the staff to escort me around the store; however, it would be nice if their employees didn't make me feel like I inconvenienced them. My last visit had 3 of their team members pointing me to three different areas (shamefully across the entire store). If your into scavenger hunts, or wanting some exercise, then I suggest you take a trip to Menards. Ask an employee where something is and let the hunt/workout begin. read more

I'm not a fan of menards over all. It's kind of like lowes with groceries. But doesn't have lowes selection and groceries are better sought at a grocery store. This location forces you to go in one door and come out another. So no matter where you park you will have a walk. There are three other hardware options in town. Go to those. read more

Menatds store policy I believe are in place to screw their customers. My mom who has since passed, purchased some plants for me. Not thinking that every plant bought from menards would die. I didn't get her receipt. So I took the dead plants that were purchased last July in to get replacement ones and was told no ,I needed the receipt. I explained why I didn't have one and why I couldn't get one and instead of trying to help they implied I was lying about purchase date and did nothing to help. It was the last gift I received from my mom and menards screw u policy is all they are concerned with. From this day forward I'll do business with stores who actually care if you shop with them and don't use a screw u policy to screw over their customers. I have been to Menards three times since they have opened. I am a person who has a hard time walking and use an electric shopping cart when I go to the store. The first time, there was no cart available. I asked the attendant at the Service Desk, and she told me they only have one cart for the whole store. Because of this, I wasn't able to shop there. The second time I wen there, I was lucky enough to get the one cart available. They do have a nice store and I did make purchases. The third time I went there, they told me the electric shopping car was broken down. I was again forced to leave. Menards has a nice selection of almost everything, and you can find things there that you can't find at other similar stores. But because they don't have enough electric shopping carts, I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

This place seems to get a bad rap for sub par customer service. I can say that is not the case for me. In fact, I want to give a shout out to Dave who was funny, knowledgeable and supportive to me in getting replacement blinds for my apartment, all while being willing to help others that asked questions while he was trimming them for us. I appreciate not only the hardware supplies but also having grocery items in the store (love the ribs). I also pick up camping items and some clothing there. Compared to Home Depot, I get much better service. And the people at the registers have been fine with me. And only because he has been a friend for some time, I have to give a shout out to Charles, the dapper gentleman with the handlebar mustache (always willing to assist). The issues for me are more corporate across the board like exchange policies, the forced entrance and exits and focus on inventory over service but it's not like people don't help once you find them. I would like the staff at the front entrance to initiate greetings vs. I but otherwise it is a convenient place to get everyday household items. Though you are not a camping store, I would love it if your chain would consider more durable camp stock like ferro rods, single walled metal bottles, backpack cook stoves and less coghlan type cheap products. The cutting tools, cordage and tarps are sufficient though more universal than camp specific. But the inventory is still better than many in the area. read more

Had a horrible experience with an employee Erin who works in plumbing. I brought back a part that was to big and she wanted to sit and argue with me about her giving me the wrong part. My father was with me and she continued to have a nasty attitude with and told us to go somewhere else if we have a problem. We will never be back won't even spend another dollar here! read more

This place is HUGE! Just opened so it is very neat, some stuff seems kind of jammed together, but they have some good looking lumber. I'm not quite sure I get how the store flows, but for anyone with a house or yard project or you just want to build something this place will get your imagination going. Prices seem to be pretty good and since they're just opening they'll be having some good sales and giveaways. I'm pretty excited to have nearby access to this place. I could wander through here all day. Power & Hand tools, landscape supplies, lumber, doors, some limited food selection, dog food, lighting & ceiling fans, yard furniture, some camping supplies, some hunting type stuff.... I have heard this is one of Menard's biggest stores, but haven't been to their other ones to compare. read more

I worked at Chippewa Middle school so as I wander the aisles I wonder if the drywall is where the cafeteria was. I have never not found what I was looking for. Replacing the male connector of my garden hose, a new light fixture for the back porch, tent stakes, refinishing polish for our hardwood floors, a push broom. I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Menards. Broke down in 12 days. Whirlpool service a joke. I tried to return the refrigerator to Menards, could not, was days past return policy. At 22 days (Oct 6) refrigerator was still not fixed, waiting on part, could be as late as Oct. 30th. Whirlpool service not acceptable. Broke Michigan State Law. 10 days!!!! Went back to Menards, talked to Ken, General Manager of Port Huron. We discussed the laws and how Whirlpool serviced my appliance. Without having to, Menards stepped up and replaced refrigerator. Of course no Whirlpool. Purchased a LG.. Menards stepped up, when they didn't have to. I will always be a loyal customer. Thank you Ken. Oh, I am a licensed mechanical contractor, I am licensed (38 YRS) to service commercial refrigeration. Shame on you Whirlpool, your service practices broke the law. See you in court. I would not recommend Menards in Port Huron MI to anyone. My first visit was to pick up some fencing and so we looked around the store and were unable to find it so we asked an employee which then asked another and Mike said oh well it's way way in the back in the lumber yard, you would think he would come show us but I guess he was to busy talking to the other employee. We got out there and had a very hard time considering they were all hooked together and heavy but we got it. Lot's of employees working but not one asked us if we needed any help. I should have known better but we needed more fencing so thought this time would go online and so I applied for a menards card and checked to make sure they had the fencing and they said they had 17 rolls in stock so I paid for it and then got an email said ready for pick up. We drove an hour to get there and then go to look for the fence as we knew where it was from our previous visit and nothing, so then asked one of the guys in the yard and so he started looking and he is confused so now I am starting to get upset as it's like he has no answer well the answer is to get the person who runs that department a manager. So Mike comes and is looking around and I said to him you guys don't have it, why is it that online it said you have 17 rolls in stock,he said he did not know, well someone has to be in charge of what inventory you have and update things so it shows correctly online. I asked him if he would make it right and give us the 5 foot fence for the same price for their mistake. The fence we were going to get was on sale for $48 and not on sale was $69.40- 4 ft, the 5 ft was $75.64 so a difference of 6.24.And it also was not like we were getting just one roll it was 7 rolls. So he tries to sell us some other cheap fencing which is not what we wanted we really didn't want the 5 ft either but we had already purchased all our post and we were doing this project the next day. Well would they make it right NO, so I said I want it removed from the credit card we used I was very upset and I still am. He said they would do that but would have to go to front desk and he would call and tell allyson I think that was her name what was going on. Well he did not do that so she had no clue what was going on so we had to spend more time talking to her about everything then I said well can you do me a favor can you call the store in Davidson to see if they have it even though we have to drive another hour to that store but can you make sure they physically check and she said yes, we waited then she came over to us and told us yes they did have it. So we get there and find out that did not happen she did not ask them to physically look! We got very lucky they did have some. I feel it was wrong they did not make it right with us for their mistake, we drove an hour there and then an hour to the other store and then another hour and a half home not counting all the time wasted in between. And I would of never went to the other store but we already opened credit and was paid for. I know for us we will not shop there every again and will let people know our experience. And also just so other's know they are not suppose to tell you that you can ask for help but you can but good luck getting some read more

I really appreciate having this store on the south-side of town when I am working on a home improvement project and don't want to travel to Fort Gratiot to Lowe's or Home Depot. Reasonable prices, and you can't beat the 11% rebate when they offer it. The downside, the rebate check can only be redeemed at Menards. I appreciate you can use their kiosk to find all your receipts if you paid with a credit/debit card. The only issue, do not buy any machinery here, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc. They do not stand by the mechanical products they sell. We purchased a lawnmower and within 30 days of purchase began having problems. They basically told us to call the manufacturer because the item was under warranty. They refused a return and the staff was absolutely useless. The closest place for a warranty repair was about 40 miles from my home. Needless to say I will never purchase another piece of machinery here. read more
