It's very hard for me to rate a Menards poorly but this one is far and away worse than any other one I've been to. I've been twice and the last time I went I headed to the bathroom to find two employees in there complaining one toilet was broken already and that one of the employees had just broken the other one. Both expressed frustration that the toilets were broken, but neither seemed willing to do anything like put up a sign, report the issue properly, or do anything remotely close to fixing it beyond bemoaning the situation to me, a customer and definitely not their coworker. When I reported the issue to someone at the front desk, the lady actually started smiling, almost giggling for a bit, and then eventually realized I was serious and seemed to start listening more carefully. As a customer who expects at least a little more out of the maintenance of the facilities of a -- home improvement store -- I told her I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I left without buying any of what I went in for. Hopefully the place gets their act together and or at least learns how to build a better team that can take care of the place. read more

If I could give a ZERO I would. Never ever again will I buy anything small engine/mechanical from MENARDS. I purchased a $735 garden tiller in May and it quit working on the VERY FIRST use. MENARDS won't take it back and I'm directed to take it to a local authorized service shop. We wait almost 3 weeks to find out that the company is out of parts until August- THAT IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Will MENARDS take it back now or offer a replacement ? AGAIN, NO! Neither Menards nor the tiller company even acknowledge that it's likely a Lemon if it broke down ON THE VERY FIRST USE!! Who can take your $735 and offer their customers terrible customer service and an unusable item for months? The answer is MENARDS. HORRIBLE customer service! My recommendation is to follow my plan and not buy this type of product from MENARDS!! In fact they've just lost my purchases from a major bathroom remodel. Black Friday experience. Very good experience for Black Friday. Plenty of willing employees answering questions "where is...". or better yet they led you to the item you wanted! Plenty of stock. enough checkouts so no standing line for 20 minutes. Now it wasn't as busy as in the pas, but very well organize. Please do it again next year. read more

This review is primarily for Diana, the lady who helped me in the tools dept. The first agent tried to help me, but struggled with my uncommon scenario. He then handed me over to Asians. Not only did she take the time to hear out my scenario in detail, she thought through it and came up with creative solutions. THE most neglectful customer service ever. I have been remodeling my entire house over the past few months and have made LOTS of trips to this store. The ONLY time I was ever confronted by a worker was in the lighting section. Not in paint, not in doors, not in flooring, not in HVAC, not in bath. I have spent several thousand dollars here over the past few months. Today I came in fully expecting to order a full bathroom (shower, shower door, vanity, vanity top, faucets, mirror, toilet). All I had to do was pick them out and place the special order for certain things they don't carry in stock (the expensive things). I stood and debated on showers and vanities for over an HOUR and the one time I did see a worker walk by he just kept walking. Needless to say, since they don't want to help and don't need my money, I walked out and won't be back. Disgusting. read more

Best overall store for your average Home Improvement needs. I wouldn't buy my power tools here however the building materials and supplies seem to be good enough for the average project. The employees are pretty knowledgeable not specialist by any means but many are designated to one area based on their knowledge expertise which I found very helpful at times. read more

Worst experience. I have never been treated so rude for no reason. Go to Home Depot or Lowes. They are kinder there and seem like they actually enjoy their job. If you like being treated like shit, go menards. read more

If zero stars were an option.... that is what they would get. Go to Home Depot or Lowes. We ordered our dog kennel 8/26/18 and were told at that time by Matt N. that all of the pieces were there except for the gate, and that the gate would be here the next day. At that time, we told him we would wait until tomorrow and pick up the whole order with the trailer. On 9/3/18 I called and spoke to 3 different people, all of which told me that my pieces from my order were on back order. NEVER did I receive an email that my order was on back order (not sure why that isn't protocol to notify the customer that their items will not be in like they were told). I asked the gentleman in special orders, when in the world my pieces would be in.... he took my phone number and said that he would email the company and call me back. On 9/7/18 I called back to the store and asked for a manager. The gentleman that I spoke to was named Matt and told me he was the GM. I explained the whole frustrating story to him, complaining that there is NO COMMUNICATION what so ever with the customer. He said they don't make phone calls, and I explained I still had not received an email either. He then looked into my order and explained all the pieces were in fact there the next day, to which I explained I still have not received an email stating that my order was ready to be picked up. He then informed me all the pieces have been there and then gone a few times and now they are on back order yet again. I told him I want to know where my order is and when it is going to be here. He took my phone number, mind you this is the third time I have given them my number, he said he would call the company to find out when the pieces would be delivered and would call me to let me know. It is currently now 9/18/18 and I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ONE PERSON AT THAT MANKATO STORE after several told me they would call me back with the status!!!! I cannot believe that this is the way Menards does business. We built a house and bought everything from there.... we no longer will buy a thing from that store and I will share with everyone the absolutely terrible experience we have had with them. read more

The staff was nice enough but sent us up front to pay for cabinets without a pick ticket, the cashier told us we couldn't do that and they shouldn't have sent us up front. They were able to help us but after a lot of confusion and several delays we were finaly sent to the yard to pick up our stuff, the guy told us the wrong door, once we got to the right place there was noone around to help us load. Luckily my husband likes to shop here (for some reason I don't underatnd) otherwise I wouldn't be back. read more

If I could give this store a 0 I would. We have been loyal Menards customers for years. We ordered thousands of dollars of new kitchen cabinets and received the wrong one. Spoke to management and nothing happened. They had a sale on counter tops so we ordered through them. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I went to pick them up by myself (enter 5' 3" woman). I had to load the counter tops by myself!! And then, they forgot to give me the installation kit and one piece of the counter top. I live 45 minutes away and made a special trip up there. Management once again did nothing. This is your warning: DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE!!! I have learned my lesson. I will never shop at Menards ever again. read more
