Tristan said he'd take the maiden wash on the transfer bench. - A plush teddy bear with a towel wrapped around its waist is positioned on a gray chair in a bathroom setting. The bear's arm rests on a soap dispenser with a pump, and a box of soap labeled 'Beekman' is placed beside it. The background includes tiled walls and a bath brush leaning against the wall, indicating a bathroom environment.

So we have a friend who has become a long-hauler because of this miserable pandemic, and her family abandoned her because she is LGBT. So her friends have been helping here and there. My girl had noticed that she was unsteady taking a shower, so we decided to buy her a transfer bench for her bathtub so she could sit and bathe. (I had used one when I had my knee replaced and it made a huge difference during that time when I wasn't feeling that secure getting into and standing in a bathtub.) So I checked out what was available locally and on line. I found something perfect and that it was on sale at Menard's. (There is a 11% rebate thing on everything going on.) And the West Main Menard's, the on line site said, had two in stock. So off we went to buy it. I find big box stores overwhelming because there is so much stuff everywhere. I asked the first employee I saw for assistance. "Ah, sorry," he said. "We don't carry transfer benches for tubs. But I bet you'll find it across the street at Wal Mart." "Huh," I thought to myself. "How strange. The website lied?" I looked for the aisle that had "Bath Safety" as an identifier, went down the aisle, and on a bottom shelf I found the transfer bench I was looking for. And, as the website had stated, there were two boxes. I picked up one of the transfer bench boxes and bought it. The clerk at the register reminded me to take one of the rebate forms to send with my receipt.

Unbelievable, it's the middle of August! They put this crap in a main location in both stores. - The image features a horror-themed doll with a cracked, zombie-like face, dark hollow eyes, and a distressed expression. It is dressed in a blue dress with a white collar and has a tag that says "TRY!" on its chest. The doll is seated on a store shelf among other similar creepy dolls, with visible price tags indicating it is for sale. The overall scene suggests a display of Halloween or horror collectibles.

I have found Menards customer service to be the best of all the home improvement stores.

Mr. MVP and I had to visit Ace Hardware on Saturday morning because someone tried to break into our…read morehouse on Wednesday night. Three of our screens were cut (and a large window was broken) and the police officer who responded to our call suggested that we take the screens to Ace Hardware to have them replaced. I had called ahead on Friday and asked about screen replacement and was given prices - FYI a regular sized window screen is about $7 for a replacement and $14 for a replacement with heavy duty screen. Our windows are gigantic so they were four times that amount. Not a big deal. The older gentleman who first helped us with our screens let us know that the screen guy would not be in until noon so we would have to leave our screens and come back - no problem. We left our name and number and asked for help finding some locks. He guided us to the right place and offered his advice on which lock he thought might work for our needs. He seemed like he had a little bit of knowledge about a lot of stuff. He offered us popcorn, which we had to turn down and then he had to go help another customer. We then wanted to look at security lights. When we turned the corner we found another employee - again another older gentleman - who we asked to help us find security flood lights. He seemed very confident when he guided us all the way across the store and pointed down on a shelf at Christmas tree lights. This gentleman was obviously confused. Mr. MVP clarified that we needed flood lights for the garage and he paused and started walking in the same direction we had just came from, only this time very slowly. We took a small tour of the store, pausing multiple times before we came to rest in front of indoor ceiling lights. Thankfully, Mr. MVP noticed the flood lights around the corner from where we were standing and politely pointed them out to me like I was the one who was walking around aimlessly. We thanked our tour guide and shopped the rest of Ace Hardware on our own. I still think that gentleman is lost somewhere looking for lights. This Ace Hardware is clean and very well stocked. They have everything - tools, paint, hardware and even some clothing. There is a lot of stuff for the home and all the improvements we all need to do. Their prices were very reasonable too. We purchased a four set of locks and double checked the price on Amazon. Amazon had the same set for just 50 cents more and because we like to support local businesses we thought that was a good deal. We will hopefully get our screens back on Monday (there was a sizing issue with the windows being too big and the screen material being too small) and if we need something in the future we know we have another nice hardware store in our area.

Instead of asking me what I was looking for one of the employees trailed after me as though I was a shoplifter. Since I could not find what I was looking for I finally turned around and asked if they had the item I sought and if so where I could find it. Turns out they had a sparse selection and did not have the item I was looking to buy but I found a cheaply made cord I thought might suffice. It was expensive and the clerk was almost hostile when I plopped down a $20 bill to pay for it. No greeting, no thank you, nothing but nastiness. She counted out the change as though she was giving blood. Turns out the cord I bought would not work for my intended purpose but no way I was going back to that place to return it - ever. Now I travel the extra few miles to Menards or Walmart to puchase hardware items. I'd like to give my business to hometown 'small business' but not this store.

The rest of this I couldn't speak higher of my experience with this shop. sooo If you don't want to read my gushing stop here and do your self a favour and GO HERE! instead of home depot, cause you will actually get the right tools and the right hardware that you need rather than a bunch of prefab crap that will rust, wear or fall apart within a year or 2. I went in for a few separate projects and needing a few different items for different weather, both high stress and weather and underwater chains and links. They had galv/stainless/zinc/bare options for bolts screws and chains. I thought I died and went to bolt heaven when I walked into their entirely dedicated second floor nut and bolt room. I got some stainless Nylock nuts and everything else that I needed. The lady who assisted me was both courteous and knowledgable, her and I discussed the projects and we confirmed our reservations and made choices on the right products. It set my under 15 bucks for everything and I was able to finish my projects to a T without a problem. For anyone who knows anything about building and tools, this place is the place to go, Im SO SO SO SO tired of the crap that you find at home depot and you just cant get what you need for spec projects (which almost every project is). You can tell when you see all the kits that someone has to half build so they can get the parts they need. Please go to this place and support local shops cause if they go out of business were screwed when we need to build anything that isnt a prefab kitchen or shed or some crappy plastering kit. This place is the bees knees!

Some Tractor Supply stores also fill propane tanks for your barbecue grill. The one on Shaver Road in Kalamazoo has propane refilling. Along with stuff for "the farm", they have clothes, shoes, and pet supplies. For those of you who are comfortable with "at home animal husbandry", they do have some of the shots that young puppies and kitties need available there. They have some great John Deere toys for kids too as well as wagons, trailers, and so many other things!
