I want to give a shout-out to two people in particular. One works in the Women's fashion and her name is Cheryl. She was extremely helpful and polite when I was in looking for clothes for my Niece's birthday. It did not appear to be her department - she was working on socks - but she was helpful and kind. She even showed me a few things that she thought a little 5 year old girl would like. She waited until I was satisfied nad did not immediately leave - something I have experience at other Meijer stores and especially at places like Walmart. The second person I wanted to shout-out to was named Tim and he was my check-out person. He was very fast and very friendly even though I was going crazy trying to get everything on the conveyer belt. He was polite and chatted nicely while I put my stuff on the belt. This is by far the best Meijer experience in the Kalamazoo Portage area.

And I took this picture 30 minutes after moving to self-checkout. When I asked, employees said that the "kids" that should be working the weekends are constantly calling in. Not sure how that became the customer's problem, especially when you stopped being 24/7. Maybe start paying your employees a decent wage, and this wouldn't happen.

The first was a woman that did not look at me and bloated out L1. which I assumed was where my item was located and we went over there and that item would never have been in that location that she said it was. I asked another employee and this male employee gave me a one word answer and I kind of think that he had a bit of a mental problem. And I criticizing him for that, but, Walmart should have a couple of people on the floor that can actually speak coherently and tell you where something is located.

This place seems like a hybrid of both. Prices seem to be right around the Goodwill range or even less (and like Goodwill, they were offering 50% off of certain colored tags). I hope you've got Macklemore playing in your head because I know I do. I got the velcros ... Anyway, decent variety of older games and toys, lots of kids clothing in a wide range of sizes, even some maternity bras and clothing for mothers, and a huge rack for shoes in the back. As is off in the case, there were three times as many girls shoes as boys. The spot is definitely way off the beaten path -- tucked in the very back corner of a strip mall at the corner of Gulll and Sprinkle roads (if you've found Main Street Pub you've got the right building -- it's around the back).
