They have everything, but it feels stuck in the early nineties with the turn styles, paper rebates, and that eat worm jingle from there ads always playing... gross, we get that enough in advertising OUTSIDE of the store. And returning something, wow... that's a steam lined process I'd be happy if Menards would allow real competition into there back yard, maybe then they would be be forced to shift to competitive paradigm. read more

I'm addicted to the online only deals and I'll admit that some look better online than after bringing home, but if you stay away from the cheap tech stuff, you'll be more delighted than disappointed. I'd rather shop at Menards, warts and all, than Home Depot OR Lowe's. It's easy to track down assistance, unlike those other two and there's always something inexpensive to make the trip worthwhile. It's amazing how much less they charge for the exact same item sold on Amazon. read more

I explained I have no way of printing an email receipt I've been hit by a tornado... the lead cashier said she had no way to help me maybe I should go to the library... We opened our brand new whirlpool tub yesterday and found that some idiot ran the forks from the fork lift through the side of the tub! Now I found out today that we are to wait till July 31 for the replacement tub and we only have the one bath that is ready to install our tub! When I ask the manager (Oshkosh store) about compensation for us so we go somewhere to shower he rudely said they would not do that. I'm afraid that the Menard family doesn't give shit about the customers, just their money! read more

Menards Preston/Cooper Chapel Rd I Absolutely DO NOT recommend this store. A friend was stopped and asked by security to dump a very small purse he claimed he saw something purple that was tossed and it was my friend's purple cell phone that was in her hand. How embarrassing and disgusting!! It was def racial profiling and the manager named JOHN jumped in when he heard the commotion and asked my friend to leave the store and the manager was absolutely wrong. There are pictures and witnesses agreeing to what they saw which was nothing and that the security guard was wrong and he was racial profiling along with the manager JOHN! A lawsuit has been filed! And Menards corporate headquarters has been contacted! read more

Zero stars if I could This is strike three,I purchased shingle ridge caps and it was supposed to take about a month to get them, two months later they wanted to reorder and it turned out they had been in the store for a month I purchased a car battery and it failed in less than a year and I didn't have the receipt it was to be used for the 11% (didn't get the 11% and slip was lost) no warranty for the battery I had to buy another one at full cost somewhere else I can go on with failed orders and lack of customer service read more

I ordered an O-gauge Union Pacific train engine set with caboose in Jan 2024. It took longer than I thought it would to get a replacement because something was wrong with the engine. The packaging is very good for the items I've received. read more

Where do I start? It's July 15, I started my kitchen remodel on February 2. I used menards program to design my cabinets and countertops. The cabinet over the stove was ordered 3 times. 3 times I was contacted by menards. The first 2 times they could not find the cabinet that was checked in off the truck. While I was dealing with that the guys from menards loaded the rest of the cabinets. I assumed they would verify everything was there, they didn't, it wasn't. I had to order another cabinet later at my cost because I signed saying it was all there. The countertops, OMG, what a cluster f that has been. The first one the hole is 96 inches long. I got the piece home, went to install it and it is 96. It's hard to stretch thecarea between walls. The sink base was cut wrong, the sink was 4 inches under one of the cabinets. The 3rd countertop was warped so bad it sat for 2 weeks with 25lbs on it to get it to sit down to get them to attach to the cabinets. The department manager is a young lady who is nice enough but knows nothing other than using the programs menards uses that I told her was wrong and she said this is how it's done. Then when it's wrong she goes and gets managers from other departments that know even less because she isn't allowed to make a decision. If you don't trust her to be the department manager replace her with someone you do trust. I don't need the receiving manager telling me that a countertop that is bowed and warped 3 inches is normal because it's not. Otherwise the other 4 would have been too. I now know why there is always a ton of countertops in ray's bargain area. read more

Won't use them again, horrendous customer service by far the worst I have seen. can't even tell me when my order will arrive. never had a problem with before. Building supply manager at the Warren store wouldn't even come to the phone. Every time I check order status says it is in transit to the distribution center, same BS response I get from the store. Menards is the worst! They lure you in with their 11% rebate. That just means you have to file the paperwork yourself and wait 4-6 weeks. If you lose the original approval card, you lose your entire rebate. I lost over $100. due to my original being thrown away. Even though Menards had record, they denied the remaining amount of rebate. Customer service advertises phone numbers but the phones do not function. You have to write the main office in Wisconsin. Good luck! They are useless and refuse any type of help or money allowance. For a company of such magnitude, their customer service is the worst! read more

I called before I drove to Menards to purchase some wire. Lady stated they had 155 feet of wire. When I drove there 20 minutes away, I went to the electrical department to get a pick ticket for 105 feet of the wire. When I went back through security in the yard, they found out there was only 63 feet left. I sat and waited while Menards employees searched for the wire. I was told the count was off from what was in their system by 60 feet. General Manager apologized and the inconvenience was at my cost. I wasted a whole hour and gas because they stated to have the wire on hand when physically they didn't. I am a longstanding Menards customer. I have ordered online and picked up in store 10's of thousands of dollars over the last year. When I am setting up to do a job, I go online, select whats available at my store, pay the fee, and set it up for pickup or delivery, based on size of order. Sounds normal, right. I agree, paying for them to pick it is a stretch, but I do. Well, I placed an order like I have done many times in the past. After I pay, I get a notice that one of my items (Fire Door) came out special order even after I selected in-stock items. I quickly looked for the number to call. There is now, no number. I sent in the contact info stating. I need the door sooner than you can get it, please send me a comparable in stock item, and I will go with that instead. I wait 2 days no response. Door is stil in process at the MFG, not to ship for 8 more days.. Still no number to call. So, I call the store. They can not, or will not help me. They transfer me to the front desk, the front desk says the department has to help me. I look online for the corp number. They transfer me to a phone that is NOT answered and only takes Voicemails. Customer service finally responds online. Says, I have to wait for the door to come in, and then they will return it. At a cost of 25% to me for restocking fees. The DOOR HAS NOT LEFT THE FACTORY, remember. This is crazy. I dont know what to do.. This will cost me $50 for a mistake they made. Wanted all to know... Dont do it. Dont shop there. read more

Menards' rebate program is terrible. They advertise 11% rebates which are actually in-store credits, not rebates at all. The program is designed to be so difficult to submit a rebate request that no one would follow through and complete the process. My wife and I went to a new Menards that replaced an old store to look around and see what the store was like. We were checking all the new stuff out and my wife was interested in the grocery area. We went to the grocery area and noticed that they had a large selection of items. It is basically a small grocery store in Menards. We were comparing prices via the Wal-Mart app and the price on canned vegetables were cheaper than Wal-Mart. As we were doing some comparisons my wife noticed a man looking around corners at us and pretending he was looking at items near us. This carried on for about 15 minutes. I asked him if I could help him and he seemed a little taken back that I spoke to him. This made my wife very uncomfortable as this man did have a knife on him and was following us. We made our way to the customer service desk and spoke with a manager about this issue. I said that a man was following us around for more than 15 minutes and I assumed the man was a Menards worker but he had no Menards shirt, apron or a name tag. I told customer service that I figured this out by the radio he had on his belt. As he walked by us you could hear on the radio the other associates asking for answers or requesting help. The manager passed this off as just someone shopping. I reminded her that we were followed for 15 plus minutes by a man with a knife. I asked if it was security and if it was, please explain this. She stated that security is wearing security shirts, I then stated that it must be a worker following us and we want to know why. The manager then stated that there was no employee following us. At that point I told her that she needs to address the situation of a man following us in the store with a knife and he has a Menards radio. She Stated that she was sure there is no issue. I continued to press this issue and finally got a ridiculous explanation. She said her employee was on break and was looking for a snack to buy. I asked her why it takes over 15 minutes to find a snack and why was he looking in the isle with canned goods and cereal along with other isles at the same pace as us. She never addressed the situation on her end and acted like we were the problem. My wife was physically shaking and the store manager made us feel like we were in the wrong for our concern. This action or inaction on her part is dangerous. I called the store to talk about this incident and the manager seemed more concerned if I was an attorney or the police. She demanded to know who I was and who I was working for. I told her my name and said I just wanted answers to what happened at the store. She became agitated and hung up. read more

I just left the Menards in Davison Michigan .About a week ago we were shopping for backsplash for our kitchen . We saw some we liked but there wasn't enough on the floor so my husband and I went home and ordered it online as well as the matching trim .BAD mistake ! The backsplash came into the store first so We went and picked it up , took it home , then saw that the color didn't match what we wanted to do, so , two days later I returned to the store and returned the backsplash and tried to get them to return our money on the trim as it had not come in yet. We were going to return it anyway and exchange everything for a different color . WELL , they are saying the trim is a special order and they kept $35 out of a order that was $148.00 because It isn't something they carry . What ! They carry the backsplash but not the matching trim that I ordered on the Menards website ? I talked to three different managers including the store manager and got nowhere . In fact they acted lIke they were going to have a problem selling the trim when it comes in even though they carry the matching tile in the store ! Attempted to return the vanity and they wanted to give me store credit, which there is not way I will use $575 there because I will never be going back. Anyway here we are May 19th, still trying to get a resolution. Supposedly the local store in Olathe KS said they sent a request form for a check refund on 04/03/2023 but on 04/21/23 the Asst Manager asked for another copy of the receipts. Menards - Fishers 7145 E. 96th Street Indianapolis, IN 46250 317-596-9580 Attn.: Josh, Manager fishgeneralmanager@menards.com May 18, 2022 Dear Josh: Our sincerest compliments are extended to you for the exceptional concern your staff has shown to us last night while we were stranded in your parking lot for well over two hours, having locked our car keys and cell phones inside our car. Although we promptly used your store phone to call AAA, the service man did not arrive until nearly 10:30 PM. It was a great blessing to us that your Manager, Matthew, offered to stay with us outside in the parking lot after the store was closed until we were safely inside of our car and let us phone AAA multiple times to urge AAA to hasten its service man. As I have severe asthma, it was especially important for me to have access to a phone and a concerned Menards Manager with us who was available to get help for us. I do hope that Matthew's exemplary conduct will be rewarded by Menards, and please let us know however we can make that happen. Beverly Newman, Ed.D. read more

I used to love Menards until we had to special order a product. I ordered it in store with a managers help. Told them it had to be a 6 ft double door. They instead entered a 64 in door. I didn't look at the sheet given to me and went right to the register and paid for it. They charge 25% restocking fee to return special order products!!!!! It cost me $150 to return a damn door that they will easily sell. The district manager laughed at my husband when he returned it explaining that I did tell the guy I wanted a 6 ft door not 64 inch. Being on unemployment, I am now forced to not pay some other bills needing payment because I can't use this door. I can understand up to 10% but not 1/4 of the price of the product. In 2017, I had a deck added to my home (you will recall the pictures). The deck was installed by a licensed contractor. We had a building permit and the building inspector for the village came out three times to inspect and signed off in August of 2017. In March of this year, after the snow melted, I noticed some warping of the boards. The rings around the banisters busted. The railings are now off-center. My contractor purchased the materials from Menards, so I went to them to start the warranty claims process. The materials are made at Midwest Manufacturing Co, a Menards-associated plant. Fast forward to 11/11/21, after mult emails that included pictures, Midwest Manufacturing is stating they do not see the warping and the broken rings are normal wear and tear. (This deck is 4 years old!) Their stance is that the contractor installed it wrong (he has done mult decks here and everyone I have reached out to told me they have had no issues with their decks). The issue, per both the contractor and myself, is faulty product, not improper installation. There is a great amount of detail I am leaving out in terms of the back and fourth emails with Louise Fox from Midwest Manufacturing and myself.. The bottom line and learning lesson is: NEVER BUY HOME IMPROVEMENT MATERIALS BY MENARDS. THEY DO NO STAND BY THEIR WARRANTY!!! read more
