The front desk lady told me that I should do a check-up appointment and I asked if it would be free. She had my file open and said that my insurance would cover it all. I had not come in to have an appointment, but she scheduled me for the next day. The doctor called in the new prescription that day, so there was no reason to go other than the fact that the front desk lady told me it would be free. I come in the next day for the check-up. The doctor and the nurse ask me why I came. She was confused, but I explained the front desk lady said it was free. The doctor said I was healing fine, but that I needed the prescription (which I hadn't been able to take since my diagnosis). Then, after my insurance was charged, they barely covered anything! I sent in a message through the portal about why it wasn't free with my insurance like I was told. I received a message back saying that I shouldn't trust the front desk people to tell me how much I will be paying and, that because it was already submitted to the insurance, that they will not be reimbursing me. I will NOT be returning here again. If I cannot trust your staff's word, how can I trust your practice?

My point of this post is to encourage anyone seeking help beyond cosmetic issues (spider veins, etc), to set a second opinion. He also is not part of any of the large medical groups in the area (Westfield Family Practice, Summit Medical Group, etc.), which I can only describe as purely money-making organizations. I also liked the idea of visiting a Doctor of Osteopathy instead of an MD, thinking that he might recommend dietary/lifestyle changes in addition to pharmaceuticals. Instead, I had the pleasure of meeting a doctor who laughed at my request for a full blood test as part of a physical, telling me that I was young and skinny, and therefore must be healthy, and don't need to see him. Finally, I just found out that my lovely doctor, or his staff, seems to have lost my medical/prescription records. Despite being a young and healthy adult who doesn't visit the doctor other than for annual check ups (luckily), this is the last straw. Guess I have to look for a new doctor.

The initial visit charge is way overpriced $125.. Then it goes up by adding every procedure: blood work, IV, strept throat test etc... I was clear I didn't want anything done before I knew the charge. Having insurance doesn't matter. The $125 does add up to your annual deductible but insurances in NJ suck. Anyway.. The doctor is very good. I took advantage of my visit and asked her about other health issues. She gave me prescriptions for everything which I appreciate it. Most doctors brush you off. She listened and was very patient. I wish their initial payment was cheaper. I gave it 3 stars because I was the ONLY patient at 6pm and the 3 nurses where talking and doing nothing. I had to ask them what was the reason of me having to wait they said they thought I was not ready! Lol. Thank god for them I was feeling sick because other wise they would have had to kick me out lol. Other than that, I recommend. There's a place down the street that charges $60 but the doctor doesn't listen, it's dirty as heck and stains on the chairs dust in the patient room just horrible. So you decide. You are already sick you don't want to go to a place to catch an infection or more germs. I rather pay $65 more...
