I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley! The Como Inn is a full featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms. Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them. One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience! As far as the nearbys... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there were a line of people a block long wanting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol. I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. I asked how it was going to be handled. I was told somebody would be contacted me within 3 to 5 days I have received nothing back. This was August 7 when I called back , they said they had no acknowledgment that I when I first called. I got told they had SEE WHEN THE LAST time was the room was exterminated so at that point, they took acknowledgment that they had cockroaches.

I had to go out and buy a professional spray/deodorizer to help with the smell. Could I have requested a new room, yes but I attempted to remedy it myself. I first asked the housekeeper to help with the smell, she just handed me Lysol. Which made it worse. Lots of stains on carpet and walls. So make sure to not be barefooted walking around. There were old food crumbs along side the walls. Which means carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed or not vacuumed at all. Breakfast was ok. Basic breakfast items that was just in warmers (sausage and eggs) and make your own waffle option. Overall , it can be a decent stay. It could just been my room that got skipped in the detailed cleaning. I may possible give it another try next time I come to town. Will request a walk through first

On day 4 of a 7 day cruise, my wife got sick and we had to get off and go to a hospital in Aruba. The ship left 2 hours after we got off. I had no internet access just a cell phone. I called Larry at 11:00 pm and he answered the phone. GOD BLESS! He found us a room for the night and booked flights to get us home the next day. He called or texted through out the day to make sure we got home safe. He even offered to pick up at the airport if we needed transportation. We weren't getting in until midnight. We didn't need transportation but just the thought was so caring. I've used several travel agents in the past, but will never use anyone else but North Mississippi Travel. Thanks so much Larry. You truly are the best.

The place was safe, convenient to the interstate and an outlet mall, and a very good price. With all fees, it was $71.50 for a week night stay. This is best for someone who just needs to stay a night, two at most, and don't plan to stay in their room a lot. As for parking, the lot would be fine if everyone just had sedans. When I arrived there, a lot of people were overcompensating with huge pickups. So I ended up parking in a neighboring lot until a spot opened up. By the morning, there were plenty of open spots. One other thing I will mention as a negative is that the doors are a bit loud if you're a light sleeper. So keep that in mind when you're trying to make a decision. I will say that a was surprised that they actually had a continental style breakfast. It wasn't a whole lot - cereal and some bite sized cakes, but most places at this price point have at most stale coffee. Staff there seemed nice, no problems there. TLDR; it's an okay and safe place to grab a few hrs of sleep. Just keep your expectations low

Bathroom for the ladies was clean. ( no photos for privacy reasons.) Even the park itself was nice and I loved the plants. I could easily pit stop here and enjoy a small picnic while traveling.
