My experience with Memphis Funeral Home was first class from start to finish in finalizing arrangements for my dad. From entering the lobby and the kind lady hugging my mom and me as we were grieving all the way to the end of picking up our pictures, we were so pleased. We were able to work with Randy, who was so caring and kind from start to finish. He gave us all our options, but never pressured us at all regarding any decision. He advocated with us when we were having difficulties with a local cemetery and spoke with them directly saying they would need to accommodate us. (We ended up going with a better cemetery). Randy called us throughout the week prior to the service checking in and called and checked on us afterwards. He made a very hard experience so much better. He was extremely caring and went above and beyond to meet our needs. He cared about the details and then things that concerned us. This meant so much. The visitation was first class and we were so pleased with the facility. We chose their memory package where we could submit up to 250 photos for a video to be made that was also put online with his obituary. The book that came for people to sign in was so awesome. The picture we had chosen was on the front and each page of the book had a different photo of my father from the slide show. It was really great and such a sweet memory. We got beautiful Thank you notes with calligraphy type writing that was so nice for us to send out. The day of the service was at a local church and they communicated with us so clearly and were so caring. I realize MFH may be a little more than another funeral home, but this is truly a case of you get what you pay for. We would have chosen them 1000 times over...and we would have chosen Randy as well. In 2013, they charged $5,400 for a BASIC cremation of a family member of mine. That is astonishingly high and a complete scam. Total average cremation cost for basic services in 2017 (four years later) is $1,500 (or less). When I say basic, we did nothing with Memphis Funeral Home other than cremation and an obituary in the local newspaper. NO memorial service, no fancy urn, nothing. I flew in from out of state to deal with this matter, and obviously my family and I were grief-stricken and under emotional stress. We did not have a choice in using MFH, the body had already been delivered there. MFH gouged us on price and offered little choice, education, or care. They hurried us through and got their money. If you can find another funeral home it is in the best interest, that of your deceased love one, and al of the friends and family that would attend. NEVER, no matter what you do, ever think of ordering catering with these people. We paid $1600 for what turned out to be 50 airline food quality sandwiches, some cheese cubes, some carrot sticks, and some really crappy cookies. Really a disgusting accent to someone's funeral and of such a super low quality that it's an insult to the deceased. The people who work here should be ashamed that this passes as "catering." Likewise, the families of those that work here should be ashamed that their family member works at a place that has such low quality food with $1550 in profit. They also won't let you unbundle flowers from the catering, which is also a hustle. SO: avoid this place at all costs. They take advantage of people at their most vulnerable and have ZERO BUSINESS SUPPLYING FUNERAL FOOD. read more

As a retired pastor I've conducted many funerals and worked with many funeral homes. I came from Columbia SC to conduct the funeral of my wife's aunt on June 3, 2018. I don't know that I have ever worked with a more attentive and compassionate staff. Corbin, who handled all of the arrangements for the funeral was very kindhearted, very attuned to the family's needs and clearly driven by a passion to serve the family in every possible way, down to minute details. Attended a funeral April 7th from out of town. Asked the person on the phone for a florist recommendation, and they indicated that they had a shop on site. Ordered a large basket for $125. When we got to the funeral, we found our basket, and it was pitiful. You could have gotten the size and quality at any flower shop for about $50. They took advantage of our lack of local knowledge and capitalized on it. Do NOT order your flowers from these people, get them from an outside provider. read more

The staff at Memphis Funeral Home were wonderful and very helpful to my family during our loss. The facilities were wonderful, the staff was compassionate and personal, and it seemed like everyone was genuine in their concern for us. I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

The staff at the funeral home was very nice and helpful, but some things just dont add up, why would you have to go through a third party which charges a % of insurance that they use to get their money which has to be paid before they will bury your love one, so another company is banking on your loss, so that company and Memphis funeral home is making money from your loss, they charged 2600 to dig a hole and cover hell I could of had a a company dig all day for that, what a RIP off its ashame that they are able to charge that much money, but that's not the kicker we just had gravesite service for our mother because that's what she wanted, we had the pallbears on the side waiting for the casket the limo park across the way which rain the night before so they would of had to walk through graves to get to my moms site where we were waiting and a short walk. We had to ask them to move to that spot, then while putting the casket on the rollers the pallbearers weren't able to walk on each side they had to push from back then the stand was going down hill which the casket kept rolling off. So they had to slam the casket against the side so it wouldnt roll, which that was my mother in there, then as soon as the service was over which took 5 minutes, the women jumps in and says it's over walking off I noticed some flowers and I said are these my moms she yelled at me and told me they had to go they couldn't stay there and she would help carry them, well number one didn't know she had flowers or plants, after the quick response from the woman from funeral home I sure didnt want her help, was very upset with her, then before we all could break up what is parked at the corner. Bulldozer, WTH. The last thing I wanted to see was that, as we were pulling out, it damn near hit the front of our car, as much as we paid they couldn't take a few minutes to wait for all to leave, it's a final goodbye, I was very disappointed in your company, trust me I will never use yall again. read more
