3 stars for a beautiful boat ride that needs a lot of improvement…read more My family was in Memphis for Labor Day weekend, saw this $20 deal on Groupon and thought that was a good price for a 90 minute boat ride! We bought the tickets and were told to print the tickets...but the tickets you'd print aren't really your tickets you have to show that printed ticket in the gift shop to get your actual ticket. I bet you're as baffled as we were. There's got to be a better way. This ended up being the theme for the cruise. We see a huge lump of people and know we should get somewhere in the group. There was no front of the line, middle of the line, or back of the line. There's got to be a better way! A woman announces that she'll be taking the tickets and moved to the front. The 15 feet gates open and there's no organizations as to who is in line where- everyone just pushes forward and she takes your ticket. There were probably 200(?) people no vying to be next in line. There's got to be a better way!! Then we proceed down the circular walkway where my 6yo cousin misses getting hit by their golf cart by 2 inches. It's a 15 ft wide ramp and there is no bell, no noise, absolutely nothing to notify him the golf cart was coming, FULL SPEED down the ramp behind him. There's GOT to be a better way. We continue to wait in a more organized line once we get to the boat. It's 3 stories: an enclosed first floor with tables and chairs, an open, but covered second floor, and an open, uncovered top floor. We opt for the front of the boat in chairs. Slightly covered, great view, breezy, perfection!! Then a small lady in front of me falls to the ground because her chair gave out. 30 minutes it happens again to another young, fit guy. These are the cheapest chairs you buy at the dollar store. You know what's coming next...there's got to be a better way!!! 90 % of the ride is narrated by a nice gentleman who knows a lot about the river, Memphis, history, etc. His commentary is interesting but he told two lengthy stories about boats sinking and lots of people dying. Am I the first and only person who has issue with such a thing?! PLEASE, find a better way! The ride is beautiful and breezy and we enjoy ourselves knowing we only paid $20. Until these issues are corrected, I cannot give a better star review.

I opted for the 'Midnight Booze Cruise'...a two-hour ride along the Mississippi. Boy were we in for a surprise! We were thinking this would be a nice, relaxing, and classy boat ride. We were greeted with straight Ratchedness! Young folks cursing at each other, shorter than short outfits, tighter than tight outfits, lashes looking like paint brushes, the smell of weed... just straight ratchet! Now, if that's your thing, then that's your thing. But obviously it's not ours. I just wish I would have known. We entered the boat and it was wall-to-wall and back-to-back! We entered through the door and walked right back out! $85 wasted. If this is your your of crowd, I'm sure you would have a great time! Otherwise, you should pass on it. Just my lil two cents!

Since Im about to retire from the U.S. Navy, I thought it would be grand if we started my own…read moreNavy.....Ill call it G&K's Navy, and well ROCK! To get the ball rolling, one would logically deduct, a Navy would need ships, so I bought an old jon boat and motor from a guy, its a 1963 set up and Im stoked about it! The Johnson 10hp outboard has been sitting a little over a year, so I wanted to rebuild the carburetor and replace the plugs. I looked around and the rebuild kits ranged from 16 bucks online delivered to 50 bucks from a business in Memphis that clearly sells gold plated carb rebuild kits DIRT CHEAP. A buddy of mine said, "check out that place up yonder on 14, hes got bunches of boats, cant miss it"...........so, I did. This is the place where boats in the Memphis area go to die.........seriously, I bet the dude has like 300 out there. A boat junkyard........that place has more boats than Carter's has liver pills. If this place was closer to Iran, they'd have a much larger Navy. The perfect place for a budding Naval force such as mine. Another thing he has is great prices in my opinion. I paid him a grand total of 16.38 for my kit, and Im probably gonna go back and see what else I can rustle up out there in the boat-afterlife-heaven place he has there. The point im making is that his little country boat shop is actually competing with the internet, AND keel-haulin those other guy's prices to boot. I dont recommend that you start your own Navy, as ours is MUCH more established right now and youll never hope to challenge for the high ponds. But I do recommend that you give him a chance to have your business. Call, drive out there.........whatever, give the guy a shot. You gotta respect someone that doesnt jack the prices just because hes out of the way. Very knowledgeable guys. Thanks for reading, and know that you can sleep safer now that G&K's Navy is patroling the waters thanks to Highway 14 Marine.

Not the cleanest or neatest boat shop in this area, but who cares if they can fix your issue without robbing the bank.
