Memento Press, what can I say, you really came through! I am leaving this because I'm ecstatic with the results. I'm a professional photographer and I had a client request a sexy yet tasteful boudoir photobook. I looked at several online vendors and they *almost* had what I wanted but I only had 3 weeks to ship before she presented to her partner. My concerns was that I had to trust an online vendor to get it there on time and have the right level of quality for the amount paid. I called a local Oakland press, Memento and talked to Josh the owner. He made me aware of even better options after looking at my photos and graphics and suggested a different type of layout/papertype that was suited for her level of sophistication and book quality. I sent the proof and specs, and within a few days they (thanks Sheryl!) produced a gorgeous leatherette black covered book with high quality matte paper with a slight laminate, perfect. Now the suspense was killing me, what did she think? The answer arrived this morning as I woke up to the clients text: "I got the book! It's beautiful. Thank you Kelly. For making me feel beautiful and helping me create this. I am forever grateful." I'm over the moon that they pulled this off and the client who has high standards loved it. I have a 1937 grad class photo that is in sore need of restoration. I contacted several businesses. I received a response, from Damir, what the process would be, and how much it would cost. I will be taking my photo to them the week of 8/15 and will let you know the results. The fact that Damir got back to me so quickly, thoroughly explaining the process and letting me know the cost...is what sold me. I had heard from others, however, they were not able to do what I was asking for, in the restoration of the photo. I'll check back in once I receive the completed project. read more

They do such an amazing job with our photos. If we bring them damaged, old, or faded photos, they can professionally bring the photos back to life. When we have stories to tell, from our phones, cameras, bundles of photos stuffed in the kitchen drawer, or taken out of an older relative's desk---their professional team can scan, correct, size, and then lay them out in a book---and make the story cohesive. And when we need single prints, they produce prints which--and this is the best word I can come up with---glow. They are utterly luminous. Memento Press helped me out in a bind before my wedding. I had ordered a photo guest book online and was not satisfied with the quality of printing. I found Memento online and emailed with Sheryl to understand their services and turnaround time. I dropped my files off 2 weeks and a few days before my wedding and the book was done in about a week and a half. When I got to their offices, conveniently located near Montgomery BART in the financial district in SF, I met with Sheryl for 30 minutes. She showed me example books in different sizes, different covers and explained the process. Unlike the online provider I used, Memento resources a designer to every project to ensure a beautiful layout. The time varies and since my layout was simple, it was only 45 minutes of time and a very small cost to ensure quality work. I was emailed a proof to approve before printing. During my son's birthday, my photographer somehow managed to capture a perfect picture of him. Unfortunately, the photo was ruined by my hand fixing his little bow tie. I pondered what to do until the light bulb inside my head went off or on actually - photo shop! I called several photo service businesses and either they would not do the job (since it required creating some new pixels which was tough work) or the businesses quoted me outrageous prices and I'm the type who likes a good deal. Anyway, I stumbled upon Memento Press (via Yelp of course) and they were nothing but a pleasure to work with (and much less in price than some other highly reviewed businesses) - professional, fast, punctual and the photo shop work they did was incredible....Now, I stare at my son's photo for days, not hours ;) I recently decided to print a few photos with Memento Press because their print quality is out of this world - think amazing, thick matte paper. I'm working with Katheryn once again who is so helpful and keeps me updated and informed on my printing job. Truly such a wonderful company who is reasonably priced and does great work. Really excellent job with quick photo prints. I've had a few digital prints made here for a photography class I'm in and they've always turned out beautifully. It is on the more expensive side at $12 for an 8x10 photo (more than CVS/Walmart/Costco), but I think it's worth it for the quality. They can fulfill orders next-day and doing it all online is very easy. Highly recommend! read more

We had a large, empty wall in our house and as I was passing by Memento Press and saw the incredibly vivid metal prints, I knew that's what I wanted. After a long search, I found just the right image -- but I couldn't find a way to contact the photographer to get the high res version I wanted for the 40x60" piece. Well, Memento Press owner Josh is well connected and was able to contact the photographer for me. Unfortunately, the rights fees were beyond my budget, so I had to decline. Despite all the time he'd put into it, Josh was incredibly gracious when I made that decision. Six weeks later, I found another image and contacted the photographer. The photographer was nervous about selling a high res version of the image to some guy who approached him on the internet, so I asked Josh to act as intermediary. Josh graciously agreed and his friendly, professional communications put the photographer at ease and we were able to complete the deal. A week later, my wall features an incredible large scale metal print of a beautiful breaking wave. The crispness and detail on this 60" wide and 40" tall is truly breathtaking. It's like having a gorgeous gallery piece in my home. I can't recommend Memento Press highly enough. Josh and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and responsive , and the craftsmanship and beauty of the final product just can't be beat. I'd used Memento Press a few years back to put together a photo album for my Mom's 70th birthday. With the help of my two siblings, I'd "borrowed" some pictures from her without her knowledge - photos of her growing up in Tennessee, in college, as a young mom, invitations to special events and hand written letters. I had Memento produce their Milestone Birthday service where they scanned the photos, helped with picture selection and did the layout. My Mom was blown away by the book - we literally spent a solid hour when she first opened it walking through the story of her early life. She laughed, cried a bit (happy tears I believe), and said it was the best photo book she'd ever seen. The images and product quality of the photo book were absolutely stunning. A few weeks ago, she was visiting us in the Bay Area along with my sister. We walked through the photo scans on our iMac with our two young daughters. It was awesome to have these beautiful high-res images for Mom to walk through and hear her retell these great stories of her youth to our daughters as they asked all kinds of questions. I recently purchased a photo display from memento press and am very happy with it. I was in Crocker Galleria for an unrelated reason and saw the hanging photo collage in the window... I knew what I was going to get my wife for mothers day. They printed the photos on metal and it is really striking... very cool. I received super customer service from the owner Josh... He took the time to go through my photos with me and make decisions of which ones to include. He also touched them up to make them really look great. Perhaps my favorite feature of the collage is that the tiles are interchangeable... This photo display can evolve with us as my kids grow. Highly recommended! read more

Website was unclear about when my item would be completed, and left me with impression if ordered in am would be done same day. Got text confirmation of order and was expecting some timeframe. I called and left message when I didn't get any text about when it would be done. Unfortunately I ordered a metal item which only is done two days a week. When I reached Casey by phone she was very apologetic and she substituted bamboo that she then made right away. Kept me on phone to confirm all details right. I just picked up my wedding photos from Memento Press and they were super duper fantastic!!! I was able to pick them up on the day they said it would be ready and there were no further delays! I went to another place prior to Memento and was truly disappointed by the final product - Memento erased that bad memory for me! Josh who is the owner is very friendly and very honest as to what his company can and cannot do for you. The price I paid is so worth it once we have put up the pics on our wall! They are so good that I came back and had one of our wedding pics be done in canvass - I know that it would look amazing!!! The only thing is that they are not open on Saturdays which I would love so that I could sit down and go through my pics without thinking of my lunch hour ticking away. I have purchased 15 metal prints here over the past 5 years, and they have never failed to impress me with the quality of the print, attention they give me in photo selection (I sit down next to them, looking at pictures I have sent and want printed, and we size them and frame them together - I need and appreciate the help!), and service. A few weeks ago I sent a few pictures to them over email, and asked to get a few metal prints - When i came in to review and take them home, I realized they were not the right finish. These guys kindly redid it and made it right, without overcharging me. Wow. I'm definitely coming back here! I went there exactly a week ago and told them I need a canvas by October 10, 2011 because it was me and my fiance's 2 year anniversary and I provided them with one of my favorite pictures with her. It took exactly 7 days as promised, and when I saw the final product, it was just what I imagined the canvas to be - very high quality and proper cropping just as I requested. I told the employee who assisted me that the photo came from a Canon digital camera, but when I introduced my fiance to them, we were all shocked when she told us that the picture was taken from her Iphone! Therefore, knowing that a picture from an Iphone could come out so clear and hi-def is definitely worth to keep forever! THANK YOU very much and now it is hanging nicely in her room. =) read more

Memento helped me capture a moment in time beautifully with a metal print of our team hamming it up on a playground structure. I wanted something big and dramatic and emotionally powerful - to remind the whole company of how great and close-knit our team is. The problem was we have all these cool photos in Dropbox that no one ever looked at, and no way to get them on the wall with some impact and permanence. Josh and the Memento team helped us figure out how to do it, with their dramatic metal print format... picking the right photo to use, cleaning up some problems in an otherwise awesome shot, and delivering the finished product flawlessly with every detail perfect. Never, never do business with this company. Very deceiving with their prices as they advertise one price and charge another. They quote their price as $40 per square foot for their metal panels on their website and on their written price list. After ordering 26 square foot panels, I was charged $59 per panel with a 30% discount -which works out to be $41.30. After talking to Josh he said $59 was correct and that they gave me a HEFTY discount...absolutely disgusted!!!!! read more
