Friendly service at this family-operated spot. Service can be slow (45 mins between arriving and leaving with takeout of items already in the warming trays), so factor that in if visiting. Gave it a couple tries at different times of day over different months, and unfortunately the food didn't stand up consistently to other spots. Cabbage was great. Boiled dumplings were ok. The kingfish wasn't edible whatsoever, all had to be thrown away, was one of the worst things gotten in years. Went back in the hopes a different time of day and different selected items would be better. Ackee and salt fish was too oily. Fried dumplings were tough. Coco bread (and the patties?) are Golden Krust. Politely mentioned the poor previous visit, and they didn't really have anything to say nor offer anything to compensate for the $20 inedible meal. Also the menu isn't clear as to what you get with you meal. I wasn't sure the large fried chicken came with rice because it didn't specify so I ordered a separate order of rice so now I have 2 things of rice that I will not be eating . I also order the macaroni and cheese to try but that is also bland. It has a thick layer of hard yellow cheese on top and I'm scared to eat it lol. I'm not trying to bash this place.
