a hamburger and french fries

Late nite eats are a rarity in Nashville. (Boy I sure miss New York diners lol.) A hidden basement is a great kitchen open til 2am here. Bacon cheeseburger and fries were terrific; generous on the bacon with a good grilled flavor, and small potato skin fries. A good place to keep in mind if you dont mind a busy, smoking bar.

This could easily turn into one of my favorite places to play pool in town. It's about as unassuming as you can get as it is housed in the basement of the old bowling alley on 8th avenue. The parking lot is large, unmarked and usually empty. I've driven by here a million times never noticing there was actually a business still open. The only signs that identify you've arrived are the neon lights around one door with the name of the place printed in small letters which are unreadable until you get right up on it. It's a pretty spacious place, much larger than Rack Room but not quite as big as Buffalo Billiards. The bar is pretty impressive and although their draft selection is small they have Yazoo Dos Perros on tap. It is more of a liquor drinking place anyways, with a great happy hour until seven and a bartender that serves up some stout cocktails. There's a small seating area with booths and tables and quite a few flat screen tvs around the bar where a surprising number of people were there just to hang out. There are quite a few pool tables to choose from but they've definitely seen better days. Each table either has a tear or a stain of some sort on it but they're still playable albeit pretty rough looking. One thing that's really cool about this place is they have ping pong tables and free shuffleboard in case you get tired of playing pool or want to switch things up a bit. They also have a snooker table of which I have know nothing about as I've never seen one before, but it looks pretty fun. The crowd that comes here is great, very eclectic and friendly and the whole place overall has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Having fun!!! Melrose Billiards is awesome!

If you're not a smoker, this is definitely not the place for you. Only a few tables and the regulars are on them for long periods of time.

Laid back Nashville. If lots of smokers are present--it can be rough. They have ping pong too. Dive-esque.

This place exists atop its perch overlooking Elysian Fields (the resting place of the souls of virtuous Krogers and Jiffy Lubes) This bar, situated on a little hill next to a couple of gas stations, is a little unassuming - I've been there on various occasions the past few years, most recently with a group called Beer Church Nashville. Every time something new and wonderful happened. The beer selection isn't that great, the music is too loud when there's a band, the place works or it doesn't for you... you'll know it after a beer, but not before. It's one of those places where I only went to see a friend, and would have backed right on out had I not met a row of rather misjudged people. The pool tables were ok but not fabulous the last time i was there, the bartenders were very nice, I was told repeatedly that they had new management and to give them a try - however i did not know what the old management had done differently or wrong - that's some lore I'll have to dig up some day. The place has pretty decent parking, it also has pretty eagle-eyed cops who patrol the corner so really, play it safe and steal a police car before going and don't go with broken headlights or taillights (my old roommate did, she got searched for 45 minutes as evidently admitting you are going to that bar and have not been drinking is suspicious) It's not a place to bring a date, well, not my place to bring a date. The crowd's been drunk, half naked, rowdy, and all-about-to-fight but nothing ever seems to happen that's bad. At least when I've been. Your reaction will vary, I tend to dig dive bars that are dive bars not not hipster hideaways, and although the Parliament smokers would be welcome here, PBR is generally drunk by the patrons due to generations of selective taste breeding.

Now under new management and renamed Jack's Tavern, this dive bar off of Nolensville has an…read moreinteresting mix of people and entertainment. Karaoke is offered and some nights there's a band. There are two pool tables that only cost .75 a game. Also they've redone the back patio and you can rent that out for parties. The owner (Jack) is a great guy and Dave (the acting manager) is quite helpful. First night we went in he bought us our first round and gave us drink tickets for when we come back.

Classic video games like Pac-Man that kind of stuff. There are tons of pinball machines which you have to pay to play. Most of them are one token but there's one special one that's five tokens. One token=$1. There's also a bunch of outside patio games that you can play. We actually came because they were playing bingo, which is also free to play and it was really fun. Started at 7:00 and had actual prizes that you could win. We got a gift card for five dollars that you could use for food or drinks. The french fries at this arcade/bar. We're actually some of the best I've had in a long time you can tell they're definitely fresh cut and cooked when they order them. I had the chipotle burger, and it was really good and one of my party had the mushroom Swiss burger and loved it and we also got the nachos. It's a little bit more expensive than a casual sit down, but the atmosphere was fun. Wheelchair accessibility: everything was really open and there was a nice long steady ramp up to the front door. There was a zero rise entry and the bathroom was pretty good. The soap was a little bit high. There is no seating that is not barstool height in the front where the bingo was and so that would be difficult, but there is some seating on the patio that's accessible. The games are all old-school cabinet style games and so it would be a little bit high for someone in a traditional wheelchair.
